Tasty lunch specials that includes your drink, excellent service and a pleasant atmosphere are three reasons why we’re regulars at Los Gringos Locos.

This is the first time we have tried this restaurant. It not be typical but we had to wait for over an hour for our food. The servers said the were short handed. We won’t be back.

Terrible service and terrible food. This place is extremely noisy inside. The blender turns on at the bar and just squeals across the restaurant! We were seated right away and got our drinks and chips and salsa pretty quickly. We asked for glasses of water and about 30 minutes came back. She then cleared our chips and salsa when we finally got our waters — I guess no refills on chips! And then we sat and sat and sat waiting for our food. About 20 minutes later the below average Mexican food came out and she never returned back to our table to check on us except to drop the bill off. Avoid this place!
Long wait to be seated. Food is OK, but not really like authentic Mexican. Tortilla wraps came out burned, second wrap was good. Kid Quesadillas were excellent.

It took forever for the waitress to come to us and asked us what we wanted to drink, approximately 10 minutes at the least. While our tea glasses ran dry, we waited and waited for our food. The waitress never came by to refill our tea but she kept making excuses to us. We were finally served, and asked for our ticket immediately, because we knew we would have to wait a long time. She took her card, and proceeded to wait on three other tables, before taking our card to the checkout. The food was good, the service is horrible. What happened to quality customer service? Can’t these people be trained, to provide the best quality of service? The owner should take this into consideration.

This is the best mexican food in AJ hands down. Has a great menu selection along with endless amount of chips. Service is always a hit or miss and what I mean by that is sometime food is served very quickly and other time takes forever this goes along with being waited on. No matter how the service is we continue to go back cause of the food.

We loved their chips and salsa. However their food was really bland. Their patio is was nice. I doubt we will go back.

Very slow service and food was embarrassingly bland. Couldn’t get my servers attention for hot sauce or salsa to add flavor. Taco salad very dry. Spinach enchilada was tasteless. Very disappointing.

Maybe we hit them on a bad day, but I doubt it. Things started off weird when we walked in and weren’t greeted, just gestured to by the kid at the hostess station who proceeded wordlessly to a table as if we were supposed to know we should follow. Tried to order guacamole, but they were out. Something about their food supplier was on strike? Geez, this is AZ… is it that hard to find a source for avocados? Salsa was flavorless and very watery. Hubby enjoyed his beef burrito. My chicken tasted as if it had been reheated several times over. Weak effort. I don’t see any reason to return.

I always get the same thing… green chili pork chimi and a big banana margarita. Salsa and chips are so good!

So I’ve been to this place many times over the last year, Always for lunch though as the lunch menu includes a drink for only $ 8.75. I will say that there is only about 8 items on the lunch menu but the Monterey is very good. I get it with the red sauce but normally it is served with their poblano cream sauce. Its good either way but red is my preference. The staff is great and the place is clean. Great place, great people, great lunch!

After a morning of hiking me, the bf and our boys we’re all starving. We had actually been to this place once before a few years ago and I’d remembered it being pretty good. So we headed over. Everything started out ok. Our server promptly took our drink order and was very nice. Our drinks came out quickly along with chips, salsa and shortly after, the tableside guac we ordered. Salsa was bland. No heat. No flavor. Guac was incredibly bland. Our server recommended we add salt, but even after adding more… and then more salt, still bland. Then we ordered. My oldest son inquired about the seafood enchiladas. Wondered about the size of them. Server said they’re not all that big, but recommended doing a trio and proceeded to list the different options. My son decided on two shrimp and one mushroom. Because we were talking about enchiladas we assumed that he was getting enchiladas. After waiting what seemed like an eternity our food finally arrived. The server placed a platter of fajitas in front of my oldest son. He told her that he ordered enchiladas. She said she was sure he ordered fajitas but she could take them back and get him what he wanted. Given the lengthy wait we endured to get our original order, he decided to just eat the fajitas. I ordered a combo with a veggie burrito, green corn tamale and cheese and onion enchilada. The burrito was just veggies folded into a burrito. I’ve never had a veggie burrito that didn’t also have rice and beans in it. I ended up taking the veggies out and eating them by themselves. Cheese enchilada was also horrible. Can’t put my finger on what was wrong with it.. Just gross. Everyone else’s food was decent enough. My other son loved his seafood chimichanga. So, we’re all finished eating and we watch as our server walks speedily past our table a dozen times. Never asking if we need anything or if we’re ready for our check. Finally she stops and says she’ll bring the check. I had shown her my Unilocal check-in offer for 10% off at the beginning of our meal and I ask if she applied the discount and she says that the manager did apply it. So then the check comes. Our bill was $ 104. The 10% discount was $ 3.95. So I add everything up… minus the alcohol and get a total of about $ 84.00. $ 3.95 is not 10%. So despite my fear that if I mention this we will be stuck sitting there for another 20 minutes, I do mention it. She then returns with the check and says the manager corrected it and informs me that the discount does not count towards alcohol, which I did know. So, I open the check and now there’s a $ 11.14 discount. Weird. Now, more than %10, so I’m not complaining since my son’s fajitas that he got by mistake cost $ 19…way more than the enchiladas would have cost. All in all, not a great experience. The place was clearly understaffed. The servers were jogging back and forth from the kitchen and the dining room No good. We’ll definitely be trying a different place next time.

In snowbird season, please don’t torture yourself by trying to come here. ‘Nuff said on that. The food is Americanized Mexican fare in a colorful environment. The margaritas are good, especially the mango. The huevos rancheros are good. Nothing here to write home about. The service usually stinks. Super long waits for your food and also for any drink refill. I waited half of my life to finally see my server to get the bill and get the beck out of there. Let me also say that this was NOT during snowbird season, and didn’t seem exorbitantly busy. Mediocre at best, I wouldn’t recommend Los Gringos. It’s for crazy white people(ha!) who are afraid of real Mexican food.

Super close to home, nice outdoor seating, good food. My 2.5 year old son isn’t a huge fan of the food cause it usually comes out a bit hot, he gets frustrated, etc. but he loves the salsa! The staff is always pleasant.

After a very frustrating and downright creepy time at The Hitching Post we came here and could totally relax. Chill atmosphere, reasonable prices for descent food and attentive waitstaff. I’ll be back for sure with friends!

The service was good, our waitress was friendly and attentive. They give you chips and salsa before you order. The chips were nice and crisp The food was ok, but not amazing. The batter on the chili relleno was pretty good, nice and eggy. The sauce on the enchilada was also pretty good, nice and flavorful and smoky. The bean chimichanga was only ok, not great. It was crispy, but the beans were kinda of runny and flavorless. The patio was very nice, we sat next to the fountain. Even if we lived in Apache Junction I don’t think we would go back.

I wish I could give it 3.5, because it wasn’t quite four but it wasn’t quite three. Decent food, but not amazing. Tour server was super outgoing, but everything else was pretty bland. Granted, this is coming from a girl who lives in New Mexico where everything is spicy and flavorful. I was definitely expecting a little more from this place.

While stuck in Apache Junction for Ren-Faire, we decided to try this place out. The service was good and the patio was nice. Both of us ordered the Carne Asada was actually very good in taste in quantity. For the $ 16 they were charging, it had better be. However don’t waste your time on margaritas, unless you go during their 2 – 5 ‘Fiesta Hour’ we got the ‘big’ house margaritas and they were the WEAKEST I’ve tasted in my entire life. And trust me, I’ve had my share of margaritas in my time. Even after drinking the whole thing and half of my gf’s, i didn’t even feel buzzed. So thumbs up on the food, thumbs WAYDOWN on their margaritas.

Disclaimer: I’m from Vancouver and have not been immersed in Mexican food my entire life. But, I do know good food from bad food, and our last meal was not good food. I ordered the vegetarian quesadillas. On the menu, it states they are grilled vegetable quesadillas. I love smoky grilled veg and was really excited for my meal. Yeah… they weren’t grilled. They took a cheap, mixed bag of generic veg(carrots and celery, REALLY?), sauteed them in some butter, and popped them on a tortilla with cheap, nasty cheese. They didn’t even cut them all the way through. Service was good once our server got to us. We were left at our table for a solid 10 minutes before our server came by to grab drink orders and bring chips and salsa. I like the patio with the water feature out back. Overall, disappointing experience that doesn’t warrant a return visit.
