Since my last visit to Chop House and this review, I applaud the organization’s response and efforts to understand my situation and improve my experience. I was contacted by several people who asked for honest feedback. The team encouraged me to visit again(with a gracious gift certificate), which I did this evening. Everything was as it should be. The service was perfect and the food was delicious. The meat was cooked perfectly. Well done!

Everything was perfect! From the private dining room to the speciality wine, the excellent wait staff, the expresso filet mignon melted with delightful flavoring just right, the asparagus was perfect, and the cream corn with a fresh buttery taste – WOW! Menus are delivered on iPads which was really cool. The manager even stopped by our table to welcome and greet us. Will definitely go back. Highly recommend this restaurant for celebratory dinners and first class service with top notch cuisine.

The service is outstanding… best ever. The food is very rich and made for drinking wine. Our party did not drink wine so the richness of the food was undesirably overwhelming.

Went to Chop House for the first time(for dinner) last night. Let me just say, I see some of the bad reviews on here and don’t understand 1 star as a rating at all. We were going for a birthday, and knew we were going to go all out. We started with the crab and lobster cakes. They were good, tasted mostly like a crabcake, but we were not disappointed. Next was Caesar salads for each of us. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the Caeser just because I felt like it had too much lemon, but still very large and fresh. I got the 10oz Filet, medium, oscar style. My date got the porterhouse, medium, oscar style. We both loved the steaks, they were perfectly cooked and delicious. The crab meat on top was pure backfin and very fresh. The sides we got were the asparagus(phenomenal), sauteed spinach(also very, very good), and the mac n cheese. The mac and cheese was good, but fortunately, I make better :). The best part of the evening was how personable everyone was. Our sever, Liam, was very nice, knowledgeable, and professional. Overall, very good experience. We loved how romantic and intimate the big booths were. Perfect for a special evening.

Had an awesome night out here! No it wasn’t just because we drank enough wine to drown a mule either lol Ok, that did help though. We came in for dinner after a not so good experience at another restaurant that we just ended up getting appetizers at and rolling out. Anyway Chop House saved the night with a great wine list, awesome steaks and a phenomenal fried cheesecake dessert that was decadent! I had a perfectly prepared ribeye steak! It was delicious and perfectly paired with my 2013 Joel Gott Cabernet Sauvignon. I’m not a huge fan of cabs but really enjoyed this one with my steak. We all split sides of asparagus, mashed potatoes and Mac n cheese. All very good as well. For dessert we all split a fried cheesecake(I hope I’m not confusing this dessert but I think that’s what it was). Amazing! Our server was awesome as well. Very attentive and helpful. Even understanding as we got louder as the wine flowed haha In closing, try this location of you haven’t. Be warned though, you will pay quite a bit for dining here but in my opinion it’s well worth it.

Very disappointed this evening not only in the service but in the overall experience. Having 5 –17 year old servers deliver food at the same time won’t change an overall experience for poor judgement on the managers decision! As local restaurant owners we had high expectations for this restaurant as we have for many years and have been loyal guests for over five years on a regular basis. We celebrate every special Occasion, every birthday and we are their regulars, but no more. Never again. It was my daughter’s 13th birthday and not only did they ask for ID for a free meal which I never wanted or would hAve asked for, but also to charge for a dessert that was offered? Wow! For an 8.00 decision they lost us as a customer when our check for 4 totaled over 450.00. Shame, shows how a manager can affect a customers buying decision and future choice of dining! Not sure why you changed the last two, but as owners you should evaluate who you have running your business Good luck!

Located in the Annapolis Town Center, The Chop House is excellent for date night, celebrations and after work drinks. Private cabanas available upon request pending their availability. Reservations are super easy and I’d recommend them to avoid the hassle of waiting during their peak times. Sign up for their emails and they have awesome promotions for birthday diners. You get 50% off of the birthday person’s meal. You’ll be required to show ID but it was a generous offer. The host/hostess were all professional, well versed in the menu options and gave exceptional recommendations for meal selections. They offer the use of iPads to review the menu and your host will explain any specials of the day. My drinks were prepared perfectly and my dining companion and I were attended to throughout the meal without it being over the top. There is a parking garage nearby, elevator for persons with limitations and dining at the bar should you choose. Portions are ala cart but large enough for sharing. Eyes bigger than you stomach? Don’t worry about it, they’ll box up your remaining food to enjoy later. I will absolutely return.

Went here to celebrate my daughters birthday and thought it would be a nice dinner. It was not. No one came to our table for at least 10 minutes. In a high end steakhouse I expect a lot more. The restaurant was not crowded so 10 minutes to touch a table is unacceptable. The food was good but nothing spectacular. The service here was the real issue and no matter how decent the food is bad service is something I won’t go back for. Definitely not worth the cost both monetarily and mentally.

Went to The Chop House to celebrate my birthday last night and I was underwhelmed to say the least. We made 730 reservations and were quickly seated but once we sat we waited a legitimate 15 minutes before anyone touched our table, no bread water or even a hello. If I were at an average establishment I think I would of been less put off by this, but with the steep prices and forced atmosphere of a higher class dining experience, I would expect a little more. When our waiter finally came he was nice enough but visibly nervous the entire night. We ordered soup and salad for starters, which was good enough and came out quickly. For my entrée, I got filet and added grilled gulf shrimp. The filet was great, good flavor. The shrimp were forgotten in the window, also they had a propaney kind of taste with them and were dry. I wasn’t over the moon about that. Our server brought us «steak sauce» as he called it, but it was A1. I have been fortunate to have the opportunity to dine at several high end steak houses and the thought of serving A1 with a steak at Ruth’s Chris or Capitol Grill makes me laugh. We also got the au gratin potatoes and grilled asparagus. While the potatoes were average at best, I will say that was the best asparagus Ive ever had. Basically, I went to my birthday dinner at The Chop House and after spending over 130 plus tip(which mind you is including a 33% discount) and the most memorable part was the asparagus. There is something wrong with that.

My husband and I came back to the Chop House for my birthday dinner and the food was again great. He got a steak and I got the stuffed chicken(for some reason I always feel nauseous after eating this. .I don’t know if it’s the truffle oil or the amount of butter, but this is the second time after eating this that I got nausea. It’s just simply too rich for me). Besides that everything we got was really good. We ordered the onion rings because of great reviews, and the we’re good but nothing spectacular. The lobster bisque soup is my favorite and my husband loves their steaks.

I think his name was Alex. Awesome waiter, he kept us well informed of the items the kitchen ran out of. I am a creator of reputation which is the Segway to my lovely Chilean Sea Bass. Honestly whatever process they have of thawing and cooking is wonderful. I did fall in love with the spinach and mushrooms, it was a melody of peppers and garlic. My husband true to form had the steak that was slathered in its own juices. Usually we sit in the front this time we were at a high table in the back. Similar to a carnival ride. I have to say I will be going back very soon.

My first visit here… ok, ok and I know that they are supposed to make everyone feel special but why do I feel as though it’s all about me… lol. This resturaunt is Amazing!!! From the greeting of the hostess to the the server bringing the water. Service, timing, personalities, appetizers, entrée, wine(Whitehaven, Sauvignon Blanc) all A+ Sidenote: she didn’t just want to cut open the baked potato but fluff it…#service

Everything started out great with this visit on 1÷16÷16, so I give the first half of the experience 5 stars. I was here with my family for my birthday dinner. We had one of the semi-private rooms reserved which was very very nice. There were two tv’s in the room but neither was working when we got there. This wasn’t good because the NFL playoffs were on. Eventually the manager got one tv working for us so all was well for the football fans. Our waiter was very attentive and explained the menu and his recommendations thoroughly. After we ordered, the food came out in a timely manner and the presentation was impeccable. Our waiter even made sure our steaks were facing the right way so we would bite into the most tender side first(for the porterhouse steaks)! All was well up until then. Our disappointment came after our meals were delivered as service came to a CRAWL. It took the steam out of the celebration. We had to keep looking for our waiter when we were finished eating. Yes the restaurant was bustling as it was peak time on a Saturday but this just shouldn’t happen… ever! We almost didn’t order dessert because it took so long to get our server back to the table. So to wrap this up — the food was really good and everyone in the party enjoyed their meals. But the slow service really put a damper on the overall experience.

I hate giving such a classy establishment two stars but they are simply not the best of the best. My group and I dined here mid week as a celebration and we found it to be slightly crowded but were still seated right away. I’d come back simply to try and sit in a different area because the venue is so unique and offers countless styles of tables/booths/private rooms to eat. The décor is tasteful and the restrooms there were top notch. Our service was lacking. I was intrigued that the menu is on an iPad as other guests note. I felt the menu was very limited; the pastas/seafood section only offered one pasta. I was also disappointed there were no vegetarian options for one guest in my group. I had the salmon and others had the steak and everyone enjoyed their meal, but no one was blown away. Our waiter did not check on us and the food took an hour to come out. Like previously stated, it was a week night, and some members of our group do not drink alcohol, so none was purchased– this seemed to rub our waiter the wrong way(and obviously didn’t up the bill). The dessert we had was delicious– the peanut butter chocolate glob– but very caloric. After seeing a fellow Unilocaler’s review, I hope this review goes to the appropriate management at the business, and it makes me uneasy seeing someone falsely impersonating a manager for the business on here

Another wrinkle to my Chop House experience: I received a Unilocal message from someone named Rachael B. claiming to be a representative of The Chop House. She told me that Mr. Johns, the General Manager, wanted to speak with me and gave me his number. I am always happy to provide additional feedback, so I called Mr. Johns at the number she provided, and Mr. Johns told me that Rachael B. is not associated with The Chop House. Mr. Johns stated that nobody named Rachael works for him, and he had no idea what I was talking about. So I take this opportunity to warn fellow Unilocalers about Rachael B., who is either a rogue agent of The Chop House(unbeknownst to management) or a phisher(I include this possibility because she did ask me for my contact information).

Classy steakhouse atmosphere, great steak and seafood, but just ok service. 50% off our entire food bill because it was my wife’s birthday($ 60 savings)! I ordered the Cowboy Ribeye(20 oz), which was huge, flavorful, and not too fatty. Excellent steak. My wife really enjoyed the lobster raviolis with grilled shrimp. A la carte side dishes were amazing: garlic sautéed fresh spinach and a huge potatoes au gratin(looked like a lasagna 6in x 3in x 4in tall). I ordered bourbon on ice, and the glass was filled to the top. Obviously very expensive, but great food. The lobster ravioli was essentially in a lobster bisque soup creamy broth, which we wish someone would have pointed out when we ordered the soup too(it was a lot of heavy cream). Our one downside was service. Reservations via an 800 number were easy, even with a last minute adjustment of numbers. Due to the reservation notes, the hostess knew about the birthday, but oddly the waitress didn’t deduct the bill until we pointed it out. After water and ordering, food came quickly. After that, no one checked on us for over 30 min. Our meal was long done, we needed doggie bags and the check, water glasses were bone dry. Noticing the awkwardly long wait, the waitress walked by and said, «I’ll be right with you,» but returned in 10 min. When my wife asked for more water, they filled her glass and left mine entirely empty. Paying the check was quick and easy, including necessary adjustments(drink was overcharged and bday discount). Great food, which you pay handsomely for($ 140 for 2 people). Service was friendly and classy, but slow at our table. Discount for visiting on your birthday can’t be beat(1 free meal).

Daughter took me to «The Chophouse» last night for my birthday. Very nice establishment, clean, friendly, and great service. I ordered the special 22oz ribeye encrusted with pink, green, and black peppercorns. Then for sides ordered the Au Grattan potatoes and the Mac&Cheese with poblano chile. Dau had the 20oz filet steak. Together we ordered the Moroccan shrimp as an appetizer. Everything was over the top and excellent! The shrimp had mid-eastern spices and just enough heat to let you know it was there but the heat wasn’t overpowering. The steaks … OMGoogness … awesome is the only phrase which comes to mind! The Mac&Cheese was good and the potatoes were fantastic. This is a $$$$ per person place … But as it was my birthday and we were there on my birthday, there was a 50% discount on the total We do like fine dining but prices at ‘The Chophouse’ is a tad out of our comfort zone … But with the birthday discount the visit was worth it. If you want to discover how a dry-aged filet steak should taste … Stop by ‘The Chophouse’. Ohhh yes … Ask for Harrison as your server. He will take care of all your dining needs!

So I almost didn’t come here due to several bad reviews. I’m glad I did, though. They must’ve have really caught them on a bad day because we had a fantastic experience. We made reservations for my birthday, because who in their right mind could say no to half off a fancy steak dinner? Also, in hindsight, marketing genius… bring them in for a generous discount, bring them back with phenomenal food. I see what they did there! We were greeted very quickly by the bus person, offered water, and shortly after our server Liam greeted us. He had several suggestions on Scotch and appetizers, and clearly has a solid knowledge on different gins when I told him I was thinking more along those lines for my birthday boozing. The only semi-bad thing I could say is that the alcohol service was a little slow. Not the worst thing in the world, but I probably would have had a couple more if they were served quicker. Food: Here goes… We ordered a Caesar salad and French Onion Soup for apps. The Caesar was a good size, well dressed, and the croutons were delicious. A little soft inside, but toasty and crispy on the outside. The soup was cheesy and delicious as I had hoped. My standards are very high on French Onion Soup, and I am happy to report that it made the grade. My wife had the smaller filet poivre style. She asked for medium, and Liam clarified the temperature colors with their super fancy tablet menu. She went for medium well(medium at some places) and it was perfectly to her liking. I can appreciate that he sort of knew to double check, and I guarantee it prevented the awkward experience of sending a beautiful steak back to the kitchen for a few more minutes of cooking. I had the Strip and let me tell you, it was a thing of beauty. A perfect med/med-rare, nicely crusted and seasoned. For sides, which were served family style, we ordered the mac and cheese and au gratin potatoes. Both were crispy, cheesy, and rich. The mac and cheese had poblano chilis in it and a better crust on top than most restaurant’s version of mac and cheese I can recall. I could probably eat the top burned cheese layer on top of the potatoes as a meal if it were more socially acceptable. Misc: the ambiance and design was very welcoming. It was nice and upscale-ish, but not stuffy feeling at all. It is a place you wouldn’t feel overdressed in a suit or underdressed in a polo. I’d say it perfectly walks that line of nice and approachable. The fancy menu, as earlier mentioned was really cool. If you clicked on any item, it had a nicely taken photo of each item, which while unnecessary can help you decide what you’re really wanting to order. Our server was great, the food was outstanding, and we’ll be back birthday discount or not. Random note: Being the only people in Annapolis who don’t eat seafood made the 100% seafood appetizer selection a little disappointing. But hey, more room for steak!

If it’s your birthday make some noise! Make some noise! Make some noise!!! Needless to say it was my birthday, and I tried to refrain from making all the noise in the world because you know this is an upscale restaurant and what not. Anywho located in the newer section of Annapolis right off of Parole I believe. This shopping center is quite wonky to me and at time crap is difficult to find. This restaurant is right on TOP of the Bonefish… hehehehe. Parking is pretty chill, there are a plethora of parking garages and street parking. Now is it busy on a weekend, I dunno. Why don’t you try it and let me know. Upon entry, there is a small waiting area, and a fair sized dining area, menus are on iPads… where they do that at? Click on anything, and a dope picture pops up… POW! Pretty nice indeed. On this date, I had the ribeye with several accompaniments… the mac and cheese, spinach, garlic mashed potatoes, creamed corn, and broccoli. My ribeye was cooked to blame perfection. Perfection indeed! It was seasoned nicely, and cooked just right, my only gripe was that I couldn’t finish it, at 15oz that would have been gluttonous, huh? Now, to the accompaniments, my favorite surprisingly was the creamed corn. I have never had creamed corn and I guess I thought it would appear to be something akin to the canned variety but I was wrong, this was extremely fresh, nothing like I have ever had. The rest of the sides were nicely seasoned, with the exception of the mac and cheese… well I could have left that behind. The service was great, our server was extremely attentive and answered any and all questions that were posed to him. I would definitely return.
