Great for cheap food for kids in annapolis. Mac and cheese bite area a kid fave plus of course the hot dogs. Its not a restaurant, it’s at the level of a stand at the boardwalk. A couple of seats outside and inside You will not get much cheaper food in Annapolis. If you are on a budget this is a decent choice.

I think four stars is the best a hot dog stand can receive. However, I ordered the Italian Sausage and it was excellent. I am from New York City, and have had these sausages all my life. The one I had at Pips was perfect. The casing had just the right snap, and the filling tested just like home. The traditional onions and peppers on to were also done as they should be. Too many vendors have no clue what’s sautéed onions and peppers are about.
They also post certificates to help our hungry neighbors by paying it forward. A great gesture that should be followed by more establishments. On second thought, I’ll give them five stars.

I’ve been here before a few times and I love their Blue Angel hot dog! Mac-​n-​Cheese Bites are delicious too! Basically they have a great menu selection for a hot dog joint. The staff there are very courteous and they always support their local community. Wish I could give this restaurant a five star, but only one thing is holding me back: Their Facebook fan page. Sometimes it’s a turn off when the person in charge rarely posted a whining post in relate to rain especially flooding or customers in particular. Then again, this restaurant is my favorite hot dog joint and I would definitely come back again!

The food is mediocre, but the old man behind the counter needs to find something else better for him. Like an old person home or maybe a sandbox. His attitude is snotty and his comments are dimwitted. God forbid you ask him a question, he will bite your head off. If you want crap customer service and mediocre hot dogs, feel free to visit!

Last week I took my entire team to lunch at Pips as it was «National Hotdog Day». The owner (older gentleman) was so nasty and impolite that everyone was appalled by the way he was speaking. I have been in the establishment several times and each time he has not been the most pleasant person but this day was an exception. He was rude from the very first words he spoke. The young lady who was assisting and ringing on the cash register was very pleasant which is the only reason we stayed. I will never ever give my hard earned money to Pips again as this poor customer service is unacceptable. The only way I would ever step foot into Pips again would be the day he has no attachment to the establishment, physically or financially! Beware of terrible customer service.

On any USNA major event dining facilities for visitors are packed. A better alternative is Pip’s and the steak sandwich is really good. The hotdogs taste like they are Dietz Watson snappy when you bite into it. I’d you are family visiting and feeding a hungry midshipman try getting the hot sandwiches to go for an easy walk back to USNA.

For what Pip’s makes, no one does it better in Annapolis. I am a regular customer and am very satisfied after each visit. There isn’t really much seating, but its not the kind of place you go sit down in to enjoy a meal.

Like others have said, good hot dog served with a side of tude. But this is a take out place so it’s not like you have to deal with captain cranky pants for your whole meal so that’s a plus.
The specialty dogs are really creative. I got the devil dog with fries and all was tasty.
Bottom line, despite the cruddy vibe I liked the dog enough that I’d go back for sure.

Quite possibly the worst customer service in Annapolis, which is too bad because their food is great.
So if getting a good dog is worth getting lip from the cranky old man at the grill — this is your spot.

This is one of the best restaurants in Annapolis. My family loves it. It’s primarily a hot dog place, but we love their hamburgers. Hamburger is fresh, and cooked to order. The onion rings are amazing. The only down side is there isn’t much seating. But, if it’s a nice day it’s great to order and go eat by the water. The staff are very friendly and keep things lively.
On a nice side note, they don’t have shellfish here, so there is never a cross-​contamination issue if you are allergic. We have two allergic people in our family and have never had a problem at Pip’s :)

I’m not a hot dog fan by a long shot, didn’t even have a bite of my family’s dogs. But, I am a fry fanatic and Pip’s are some of the best I’ve ever had. Not thick, not thin, in between and cooked just right /​crispy exterior, soft and tender center. We enjoyed a giant basket on a bench alongside the harbor. Fam loved their dogs.

I’m considering ranking the dog that I had the best hotdog I’ve had in my life (and I love hotdogs).
Don’t remember what I ordered, but it was recommended by one of the guys working there and vouched for by a regular. It was loaded and boy was it worth it.
Great hotdog, cool dudes, cool spot. What more can you ask for?
10⁄10 would recommend.

One of my favorite places in Annapolis. Excellent food for the money, and it’s in one of the best locations in town. Unless you are feeding a family, order a regular order of fries… the large probably causes wholesale potato prices to increase.
Highly recommended!
