Beware of Lord and Taylor! My husband bought me a beautiful cashmere sweater for Christmas last year $ 110 normally $ 248 at Lord and Taylor. It didn’t fit. I couldn’t find the box with the sweater after Christmas but came across it last week. Went to Lord and Taylor and they told me that although I had receipt, sweater still in the box with all the tags they only give me $ 19 for the sweater because it had been over 90 days. The return policy is you must have the receipt and you must return within 90 days. I told them I also returned another sweater to Nordstrom’s …my Mother bought me for Christmas same scenario just moments before and had no problem. The manager’s response and Lord and Taylor… Well we’re not Nordstrom’s we’re a discount store! I urge everyone DONOTSHOP at LORDANDTAYLOR this holiday season. I hope noone else needs to experience the poor level of customer service I did.

We had a very poor customer service experience on Sunday January 27, 2013 at 2pm in the Men’s department. We had shopped quite a bit at Lord and Taylor. I had a dress shirt under their label that ripped right up a seam after only a few uses. The shirt was clearly defective. I kept the shirt and thought I would simply have it replaced next time I was at the mall. I had no receipt and was unsure as to whether I received it as a gift or purchased it. Regardless, it was clearly defective and clearly from their store. Last Sunday we made a trip to the mall and I brought the shirt with the intent of getting a replacement. After 30 minutes of wrangling with the clerk and then the manager and having the try all of our credit cards to find the purchase we gave up and just told them to keep their ripped defective shirt. The shirt should have been immediately replaced and an apology given for the defective product. Instead we were quizzed for 30 minutes and made to feel like we were trying to pull a fast one. My wife was visibly upset and it ruined the rest of our day. We did enjoy shopping at Lord and Taylor. I’m sad to say we won’t be shopping there any more.

Nice strategic layout Lord and Taylor. You force us to walk through the store to get to the other side of the mall. I didn’t realize there are sale racks hidden throughout the store. Actually there are tons of them, I just never stopped to looked before now. I found a long sleeve blouse made in the super thin comfy material for $ 5. Five dollas! As long as you have time on your hands, you’re bound to find a great buy. Keep searching like a scavenger hunt. Closer, closer. Better than Ross’? eh maybe. p. s. You need to up the ante in the Kate Spade purse section. She makes tons of cute stuff. Why not stock those exciting colors and styles?
