Hudson & Fouquet Salon

After relocating to Annapolis from Jacksonville, I was a little uneasy about finding a new stylist. I took a chance on Hudson & Fouquet Salon and couldn’t be happier. Priscilla is my stylist at Hudson & Fouquet and I cannot say enough positive things about her. She is wonderful, so wonderful! Priscilla spends extra time with me, making sure my color is exactly what I want and I really appreciate that. My cut and color have never been better and my hair has never been healthier. I always leave with a smile and lots of compliments.

I love this salon– all the stylists are expert and work well with each other as well as with the clients. I see Liza and totally trust her as she is honest and will make suggestions but also listens. When she is not available I have seen other stylists and have never been disappointed. I find them ethical, honest and very professional and skilled. Highly recommend.

After my stylist of over seven years moved, I had to find a new one. Decided to give H&F a try. I had been there years ago, and to be honest, had a horrible experience. My recent experiences, however have been wonderful. I have been seeing Julianne for color (balayage, specifically), and Jillian for cut/​style. Both are wonderful, and pleasant. They give great consultations and their work is professional. I have been going for six months now, and my hair has never looked or felt better than it does now. The price is great for the quality.

I have been going to Hudson & Fouquet for about eight years and would not ever give consideration to going anywhere else. Luc is absolutely an artist when it comes to styling to meet your goals at the same time as working with your type of hair. He listens and advices. Tina is an outstanding specialist when it comes to treatments and color. I have natural grey hair which I am letting grow out. Between Luc’s hair style and Tina’s Brazilian Blowout treatment, I get compliments on my hair everywhere I go! I have recommended this salon and to friends and strangers who ask where I get my hair styled. The shampoo technicians and the administrative staff are equally amazing. I book my appointments six months in advance! A must not miss experience!!!

I love this place. I had been searching for a good hair stylist and hair salon for years. You know the drill, you find it… it works for awhile… then, somehow things go awry. Not here. My hair has never been so healthy. I have it cut, colored, and conditioned by Brittany. She is amazing. The staff is all super friendly — they remember you and make you feel like you are part of their family. I’ve been going here for 3 years now — and I couldn’t be more pleased! If you have fine, straight hair that you wish would be full and lively — see Brittany, she knows how to cut it and the products you’ll need to love your hair!

Oh boy. I have waited to write a review as I wanted to have the time to really hit every last detail of what made my experience at Hudson simply-​UNREAL. I discovered the salon via this site as I was working the Annapolis Boat Show and visiting for the week. I also had a few friends from the area personally recommend the salon as well. I made an appointment with Nancy for what originally was going to be a trim and a partial highlight. When other reviewers and friends so highly spoke of the salon, I decided to go in for an expert cut and style. I arrived early for my appointment and parked curbside on the easy to find West Street. The front desk greeted me warmly whilst I waited for Nancy to fetch me. We sat and quickly chatted about what I was thinking. I had my monthly colorist where I live provide me with my color block for other salons as I travel such an enormous amount of time. It helped and she asked follow up questions to nail it (which she did). She provided me with a stylist book and we opted on a style which allowed her to shine as a hairstylist (which she did) and part me of thirteen inches of my hair (which I needed). Nancy did a really fabulous job with my color scheme, exactly what I was looking for, and honestly, stylized my hair (based on a photo) precisely in a way I was looking for after a rather quick decision to chop my hair off. I only wish the salon had mentioned a charity to donate my hair (perhaps my hair was unsuitable due to treatment). The twenty minute massage during the shampoo and conditioning treatment of my hair was sleep generating… simply wonderful.
Great products. They utilized Bumble and Moroccan, my two-​go to brands and have another brand that I loved as well… root lifter. I loved the Ergo round brush I left with as well.
And as a first time visiter-​I received twenty dollars off my visit — -and 20% off products as a new client. Such a little bonus.
Great stylist, Nancy. Amazing cut and color. (Dare I say, I’m moving to Annapolis to be closer to my stylist :) And felt valued. Very nice, down to earth, friendly staff.

Julianne at Hudson & Fouquet did a fantastic blow dry on my difficult to stay hair. My hair looked great after a very windy day.

Most importantly to say upfront is that the staff here are incredible friendly and attentive. Second, the hair cut I received is beautifully done, no doubt about that.
However it is drastically not what I asked for. As a postgraduate student, spending $ 70 on a hair cut is a big deal but since I was going from long hair to short I wanted to go to the best quality place (which this definitely is). The reason I am only giving two stars is I feel like my hair dresser was was high level, really did not listen to me at all. I asked for the LONG bob style and was probably annoying clear on how long and showed at least 5 pictures to give her an idea of how long when dry and curly. The trick with the haircut is it was cut in the back first so by the time I realized it was going to be short, it was really too late. My hair is so so short I feel so uncomfortable in my own skin and embarrassed and can’t even put my hair up to hide it. For the money I paid for I feel like I could have been heard more. With this said she was obviously talented and then this grows out the 2.5 more inches I asked for I am sure I will love it because it is such a quality cut.
All in all this is a great place to go, just be insanely clear on the length you are looking for!!!

It was my first visit today and this salon was everything I had hoped it would be. The ladies in the front were warm and friendly and set the energy for a great visit. I wish I could remember the name of the women who washed my hair so I could give her a shout out because she was great. Brittany was my stylist and she is amazing. We donated my hair which made me happy and she gave me a great cut. She was easy to relate to and I felt very comfortable the entire visit which is truly important when going somewhere new and chopping all of your hair off. I will most certainly be back to see Brittany and the rest of the crew. Thanks everyone!

Jillian, my stylist, was wonderful. It was my first time to the salon. I read about it on Unilocal and decided to try it out.
Jillian really knows her stuff– especially about color and different options with such, as well as facial shape and complementary styles.
I just went in for a wash and style. I also ended up getting a moisturizing treatment for my damaged hair. Jillian was great with accommodating the extra time needed.
I feel like a little more time could have been spent with the actual styling and/​or explanation of products used; however, I was chatting her up the whole time so that’s why it might have seem to «flown by».
Lauren, the «shampoo girl» was great as well and gave a fantastic head (and neck!) massage. I would go again just for that.
The front desk staff were attentive and friendly. I even got some tips from them for shopping in the area since I’m relatively new here. Oh, and the new client goodie bags really topped it all off. Decent sized samples of some great products.
I also really loved the atmosphere of the salon. Relaxing but not snooty, yet still quite professional and to the point, which I like.

Bobby does the best job for a men’s haircut. Got him to do my hair for my wedding and everyone said how good it looked. Considering driving from Washington, D.C., just to get my hair cut here! He’s that good. Hostesses and shampooers are always very good also. Nice salon.

I was there for m son’s wedding and needed an up do. I’m in a town I barely know looking for someone to do something with my fine STRAIGHT hair. Jillian spent time with me discussing options and didn’t do anything that I didn’t want her to. My hair looked great for my son and daughter-in-love’s big day!

Great experience! I came to this salon hoping they could fix my hair color (I had just gotten low lights at another salon but they were too dark). Ashleigh did an awesome job lightening my hair while still keeping it healthy! She also gave really helpful tips on products and how to keep my color vibrant. Love my hair! Thanks so much!

I used to go here all the time. Living in downtown, it was convenient. Didn’t like the vibe, always made me feel like they were doing me a favor by letting me get my hair done there. After years of trying, I finally gave up. There are other salons in the air with much better customer service.

Hudson & Fouquet is a great salon! I first tried them out a couple years ago with a Groupon deal. My stylist is Jessica and she does a wonderful job. She’s also incredibly sweet and very laid back. I have made lots of big changes to my hair — added bangs, cut and donated 13 inches, played with layering, etc. Jessica consistently does a great job and my hair always falls so nicely when she has cut it. I tried to call other salons to price shop, but other local hair cut prices are comparable. I also love the front desk staff. Each time I arrive I am offered a beverage. Occasionally I have asked for a cup of coffee which was a great treat. When I am finished, they always ask if I need to purchase any products but have never pushed unwanted products on me.

I love my stylist (Brittany); she always makes me feel like a million bucks. She is a miracle worker with my damaged blonde hair. (Another stylist at another place is responsible for that mishap.)
Shampoos are mediocre. Emphasis is not placed on the «massage experience.» I don’t care because I’ll still go to Brittany but they could do better in that regard.
My biggest complaint is that the product sales are annoying and even rather disingenuous. The last time I was there, the guy who works up front showed me 2 small travel bottles of shampoo and conditioner and told me he was sending me home with those. I was buying other product and stupidly thought those were gifts because they were, after all, travel-​sized. Well, they were no gift. By the time I realized I was being charged for them, I didn’t want to make a stink over it. I didn’t even like them, but I ended up giving them away because taking them back would have been too much trouble. Anyway, I felt royally duped and will never, ever, ever buy another product there again.

Made a last minute appointment, and got in the same day (10-​1-​2014) with Steve. I normally bleach the crap out of my hair, and my hair was almost mid back. He fixed my hair, cute the dead ends, and layered it beautifully.
Fantastic experience. From walking in the door until I left, I felt well taken care of. I didn’t have to wait, Steve was there as soon I was scheduled.
Loved it. I’ll be back in a few weeks for a color job.

I’ve had a couple of really great cuts here. Yes, the cuts run around $ 80 – 90, but so worth it to get something that looks good and is easily manageable! I’ve seen two different stylists and they both really listened to what I wanted and did their best to give it to me, taking their time. On my last visit, I had a stylist «repair» a bad cut I had received elsewhere and she did a great job. She cut it both wet and dry so that she could see how it looked and how it dried up.
The support staff was also great. No sooner had my cut hair touched the floor that it was swept up and they were great about getting me a drink and refilling it. I’d highly recommend the place.
