Not quite the same quality restaurant when this chain first opened in the Oakland, California area many years ago. But still it has some decent lunch staples and I have made repeated visits to this location over the years. This location also has nice comfortable seating outside and has always welcomed my dog Morris when we have lunch on the patio. Service is generally good at lunch with some servers being notably more attentive than others. Generally I get the fish taco platter with tilapia. It comes with a serving of sweet corn tamalito, rice and beans. Occasionally I order the carnitas and the tortilla soup. They offer two fresh salsas and chips as part of the meal. I like the hotter one but you usually have to request it. I think that this location and the overall quality of the food has actually improved recently. A nice place for lunch with plenty of parking. .

Go for the half price apps. Great deal. Used to go all the time, but they stopped allowing children at the high tops and I have a 7 year old. We had out of town guests and we all sat at the high tops until someone told us we needed to sit in the dining area. It was 5:30 in the afternoon. Haven’t been back. Used to go once a month. Lost a faithful customer on these new rules. No other restaurant bans kids sitting at high tops and we eat out very often. To name a few around: the green turtle, famous daves, Buffalo Wild Wings, California pizza kitchen, actually we have never been asked to leave a high top area from any restaurant in Annapolis, they all allow kids to sit at the high top tables. Bad move Chevys. Will not be back until the moratorium is lifted on children at the high tops. Change to rule to no children at the high tops from 9 pm and on. Just because one negligent family power drinks with kids in the bar area doesn’t mean everyone else has to suffer.

$ 18.19 for two tacos, a tablespoon of corn paste, margarita, and rice? Incredible! The food was mediocre and the service was barely around. I wish I could get my $ 20 back. The margarita was served in a clear solo cup. Complete ripoff.

I meant to write this review earlier. We visited last week. The chips and salsa were great. I love the smoky flavor of the salsa. Our server was very polite and efficient. My husband ordered the combo fajitas. The steak was too tough. He said the rest was ok. I ordered the enchilada combo. I live enchiladas and could not finish them. They tasted like cardboard and were lacking flavor. My daughter was pleased with the cheese quesadilla. It was a busy night and lots of the tables were not cleaned up quickly. Dirty plates and tables were left that way for long periods of time. Also I was concerned about one large table of women and children. The women were served several rounds of margaritas and were quite loud. They were letting their kids run around loudly as well. Nobody stopped them from leaving and driving when it was apparent they definitely needed to sober up a bit. I felt guilty myself for not stopping and saying something as well.

The service here was just terrible. Usually food is quick and service prompt. Not the case tonight as our server Jessica was totally uninterested. The fish tacos have gone down to a single strip of talapia and I can live with that but not with crappy service. I left a tip only because my wife insisted but the service did not warrant it. Had to void my second beer only because it took too long. Plenty of other choices in Annapolis and Chevy’s has just been crossed off my list and I have been coming here for years. I cannot emphasis the level of un-interest and rudeness of our server. Also, sad to say for a Mexican ‘restaurant’, you can get a much better fish taco just about anywhere to include Greene Turtle. Their fish taco has plenty of fish and not just bean and rice filler. Wish I had taken a picture of that pathetic taco.

First, and most important, Chevy’s has consistently had a freebie coupon when you check in on Unilocal — so when you find a parking space CHECKINON UnilocalANDGETYOURCOUPON. It’s been a while since I updated this review, which isn’t really fair since Chevy’s is a regular«I don’t want to cook» stop for us. We love cooking so that might be five or six times a year. The food continues to be «A-OK.» The restaurant can get crowded on on weekends. It’s still a chain and you get what you get but sometimes A-OK and predictable at a good price point is just what you want. Go. Be happy.

I’m glad I didn’t look at recent reviews of this restaurant or else my mom and I probably would have gone somewhere else for lunch! Our experience was leaps and bounds better than the recent reviews here. We stopped in for lunch on a Friday around 11:20am. The parking lot had several cars, but wasn’t packed like I’ve seen it. We were greeted on our way in and seated immediately. There were about 8 – 10 tables with people in the restaurant. We were given chips and salsa and our server came over to take our drink orders. The salsa here is my favorite. The chips were warm. Our server came back with our drinks and we put in our food order. I ordered the Fajita Steak ‘Dilla(flour tortillas, fajita steak, jack cheese) and my mom ordered from the Lunch Duo section of the menu: Chicken Quesadillas and a Santa Fe Chopped Salad. The fajita steak quesadillas were great, however, I wish there was more steak towards the ends of the quesadillas. Several of my slices had a ton of steak in the front and virtually nothing towards the back, so it was essentially cheese and bread. The seasoning on the steak was great nonetheless. The guacamole, sour cream, and lettuce piled in the middle of my quesadillas were fresh and tasty. My mother loved her meal. The quesadillas were great(again, wished they were filled all the way) and the chicken was seasoned well. She raved about the chopped salad. Overall, every bit of our meal was fresh and cooked well. Our server was attentive — we never had to ask for refills or more chips. On our way out, we were thanked for coming in by a woman standing at the hostess desk. This was our first time at Chevy’s in probably over a year and I’m very glad we stopped in. We will definitely return!

I hadn’t been to Chevy’s in years and I am sorry to say it wasn’t an experience that compels me to look forward to going again. Service was meh. She seemed distracted. My drink was forgotten until after my meal was brought and she never asked if I wanted another. My margarita was watered down. The food was very oversalted. And frankly it was very overpriced for a chain and one with lackluster service and food for that matter. I wish I had something good to say but in an area with many restaurants, I doubt we’ll be back.

Hadn’t been to a Chevy’s in years. Wow… Serious sticker shock when I saw that two tacos were priced at $ 12. Then, to see the under appealing brown salsa did not bode well… Good thing my wife at all of the handful of chips while I was posting this. Now on to lunch. It was… uninspiring. Tasted ok. Neither bad or good. Completely… forgettable. I had tacos with rice and beans. Tacos were ok; but short on beef. Rice and beans were very salty and, for that reason, mostly uneaten. My bride had a basic fajita. No frills. Steak, onions and peppers. Steak was somewhat tough. And her meal, overall, was underwhelming. Overall: restaurant was clean, service was acceptable, and food was blah. Biggest strike was in terms of value. For the price, it should have been better. Much better.

So this was a very interesting and complicated experience. First, as we were walking in, there was a man(intoxicated) being dealt with by the manager and I think the manager handled it perfectly… He even came by to apologize for the incident because he noticed us walk in as it happened. 5 stars. Then we waited about 10 minutes before our waitress finally came by to take a drink order. 1 star. The salsa was not hot at all… Never really expected it to be but the waitress went and got their«hot» salsa and it still didn’t do it for me… Fast forward to «super manager«and he offers to chop up some habanero and add it to the salsa. 5 stars.(still not hot though) and finally, the food… I really don’t see how it’s legal for restaurants to show you pictures of these amazing fajitas and bring out bird portions of dog food… Very very disappointed. This was one of the most difficult reviews to date.

I know it’s a chain, and a big one for tex-mex cuisine, but I have to say… I’m kind of sold on Chevy’s. The food has gotten better than it was a couple of years ago, and the service is usually pretty spot-on. Solid cuisine, great prices, nothing to complain overall! I will say, the last time we visited, the server seemed to be distracted, maybe borderline bored to be there. Still, he was quick on the refills and the food came out fast, hot, and fresh. I can’t honestly say his technique suffered. His demeanor left a lot to be desired, though. The food, while not authentically ‘Mexican,’ is pretty authentically ‘Tex-Mex,’ which is its own unique cuisine as well. Is it like your grandma made? I have no clue… where is your grandma from? If she’s like my grandma, then probably not. But she wasn’t from the southwest, so… I have nothing to compare it to. My point is, I don’t want you reading this and being all, «That’s not real tex-mex, I know tex-mex, and I say that blah blah blah…» You’re probably right; let’s just agree on that. Look, all I’m saying is, the food is very good and inexpensive for the amount they provide. I found the quality to be more than acceptable, and as far as I know, it is authentic. Great variety and options for various desires and cuisines, and a fun atmosphere inside.

I’ve been to other Chevy’s restaurants and never had a problem with my 13 and 15 year old sitting in the bar area booths. The waitress did not address me as the parent but she addressed my daughter to ask how old she was. Then rudely proceeded to say«you can’t sit here if you are under 15». I advised the waitress that the hostess didn’t mention anything about age before seating us and she said«there’s a sign». My family got up after sitting there for 10min eating salsa and chips. After we were seated in the other area of the restaurant, I asked the waiter about happy hour margaritas. The waiter proceeds to tell me that the special is only in the bar area and that I can go to the bar area to get my own drink to get the happy hour price… otherwise I have to pay the normal price. I wanted to leave after this horrible experience but stayed because I had promised my kids dinner. Needless to say I will DEFINITELY not visit this location.

We’ve been here many times before. I took the kids for a night out, planning to use some coupons received due to a horrible experience at the Chevy’s Time Square. We were having a great time — very attentive service, good food, and the kids and I were just saying how much better this experience was compared to the NYC one when… …a cockroach walked across our booth! Eww!!! Our server saw the bug and told me one minute. Without question, the manager came by informing us that our meal was taken care of and we skedaddled! The manager worked hard to salvage the experience and our service was top notch. Not sure if we’ll ever eat here again though… I was little disturbed when I returned to tip our server that they’d sat another party at the same booth.

We’ve been here many times before, just never left a review. Everything was great. Our waiter was Daniel. We’ve had him before and he always does an outstanding job. We got the mar y Tierra and the steak burrito. All the kids got quesadillas. The food came out quick, tasted great, and was cooked perfectly. Never had a bad experience here and will definitely keep coming back.

If you have ever eaten at a Chichi’s, El Torito, or any other mass franchised Mexican Restaurant, you have eaten at a Chevy’s. Restaurant is huge, bright and extremely hip and stylish if the current calendar year read 1995. They had some good drink specials, a nice outside seating area and our waitress was very nice and efficient.

Not all Chevy’s Fresh Mex are created equal, by this(see bottom), the Chevy’s in Annapolis is by far the best of any of the other locations. Lets start by saying, this place gets busy, if you are visiting you might want to beat the rush. But have no fear, because they have excellent happy hour prices and specials. I frequent this location, and I have my favorite menu items. The Cinco, any of the choose your own, the burrito and chimichanga… all great selections if you have an appetite. First off, you are going to get a bowl of warm fresh chips and house made salsa. I typically don’t waste time with seating, I go straight to the bar area, get my seat and begin eating. They have a small selection of draft beers, but they do have my favorite, Pacifico on tap! but if you want the scoop, the also have Dos Equis and Dos Equis dark, a Sam Adams seasonal, Budlight and Coors light. Order a margarita, I was sitting at the bar, and I over heard a patron ask specifically for the bartender named«Justin», she said he knew she was picky and he made it just like she liked it. Talk about good service, Justin, is the bartender you want! Certainly knows the menu, bar, and his customers. He asked if I had been there before, and I told him I had my regular items I like, but he made a suggestion I wasn’t aware of, and I was more than happy with my order… not to mention he kept my glass full. Just another observation, the couple to left of me, ordered something he had never had before, and mentioned he didnt like it, without question, Justin, offered a replacement, got him taken care of, I overheard the patron say he was impressed. So, if you are in Annapolis, and you are in the mood for Tex Mex and you do not want to chance a bad meal, go to Chevy’s. Its worth the trip, the prices are perfect, and drinks are cold. Pros: Customer service is spot on. atmosphere and décor is spot on. Food is fast and satisfying. Prices are low. Read other reviews, you will see highlights on staff members. Cons: Get there before the crowd. Navigating to the restaurant can be tricky depending on where you come from. Parking can be limited once busy. Hope this helps you decide to give this place a try. As for my initial comment, The Chevy’s at Arundel Mills Mall is not as good as this location. I hope you read this because, If you have been to the mall location, give this location a chance, I think you will be surprised at the difference.

I came here with a group for work(who are locals). Obviously, coming from San Diego at this point, I have a bit of a higher standard for Mexican food. However, the server was really friendly and attentive. Chips and salsa was pretty tasty and actually I think the most authentic part. Everyone seemed satisfied with their meals – I’m just not a fan of the sour cream, beans, cheese, etc overload so I felt like there weren’t as many lighter options. Maybe it would have been better if we were able to drink…

So I do love Chevy’s in general. This location was cool. We came in and was seated right away on a Wednesday night around 8. The place was virtually empty. We ordered our food and it seems like it came out in 5 minutes. I ordered the seafood enchiladas! I was not at all pleased with it. The enchilada had potatoes in it as a substitute for seafood! I was not at all impressed. I’ve had the same entrée at another location, and it did not have potatoes in it. I also ordered the guacamole. Def not a fan of their version. It was chunky as a mutha and had more«other stuff» in it, then avacado. No bueno! So for that reason alone, I was not happy. Either way, our server was great and efficient, but the food needs some help.
