It was sooooo good! Crab and artichoke dip, coconut shrimp, fish tacos very flavorful. Ohhhhh and the crab cakes were delish! Homemade tartar was bomb! Red potatoes and veggies were ok. Drinks were very decent. Dirty martini and Hemingway. Devils back bone ale had a gr8 taste. I will definitely go back. Our waitress Kelly was very knowledgable about the drinks and menu. She was also very attentive.

Very busy for a reason. The food was excellent, as were the drinks. Great atmosphere. We had a group of 8 and they had no problem accommodating us. Everyone had great things to say about their dinner. I had the rockfish special and it was delicious. They gobbled up the crab dip as well as the calamari.

Just moved to Annapolis, and after visiting some less than remarkable establishments, I finally ended up at Boatyard, and it was the best experience. I’ve already been back, taking my Brother to celebrate a promotion and lunch with my mother. This is the best seafood I’ve had on the East Coast, maybe ever. Probably the best in Annapolis. The staff is great, the food is outstanding, and the mood is casual and lively. I will take visiting family here for years to come, as it represents the best Annapolis has to offer.

Seafood was absolutely amazing. Period. I went with my friend luis and we had a great time. We had a fabulous crab cake and some steamed shrimps that were awesome. Also the moules were great!

Great lunch and superb service. We had soft shell crab, big fat scallops, fish & chips and calamari. The waitstaff and manager were excellent and although it was extremely busy we did not wait an unreasonable amount of time. I would definitely recommend it and hope to dine there again.

On a recent trip in the area this place popped up and I saw that it had a happy hour. First and foremost I just went for one drink because I was driving. Yes I can be responsible. This place was packed with groups waiting for tables but luckily there were more than a few bar seats open. As soon as I sat at the bar I was greeted and asked what I would like. I told him it was my first time here and he said you could not go wrong with any of the food. Of course he is going to say that but he did make a few suggestions. Maybe next time so I just looked at the drink menu. I decided to go with the Rum Swizzle. In case you are curious this is one of the signature drinks in Bermuda. The drink was good and strong but not so overloaded with alcohol that you could not enjoy. Nice drink to sip on while watching the game. I do realize that this is not labeled as a sports bar but there are plenty of televisions but some in awkward places. You might have to do a bit of stretching and neck twisting to get a good view depending on which televison it is on.

The food here is awesome. Had the soft shell crab sandwich and it was out of this world. Also got to try the crabcakes and they were also delicious(just quality crab and only a little bit of breading). Even their tartar sauce was delicious. Would be 5 stars, but the atmosphere feels touristy. I don’t feel like I’m walking into a local place, and that’s usually what I want. Still, totally worth the visit for the food.

Sooooo yummmy!!! Had all 3 of the days choice of oysters! Very fresh and tasty! Tried the Conch fritters… wasn’t a fan, the sauce was strange and too much breading not enough Conch… went for the bay scallops… big and meaty and grilled perfectly! Came with brown rice and spicy sew weed salad… sea weed salad was too spicy for me but still very good(I love sea weed salad, so I would have eaten it all if it had not been as spicy as it was). Hubby had the crab cakes… when they say NOFILLER they mean NOFILLER!!! Just mouth after mouthful of meaty crab!!! Also got the lemon Smith Island cakem. can you say perfect lemon kiss with first mouthfull… never had this cake before, but its a MUST try!!! First time visiting and have to say i will be back!!!

Boatyard Bar and Grill The Maryland Crab Soup was very good, I would definitely recommend it. It was a bit small, but it tasted very good. The soda was a bit watered down(I had cherry coca-cola). I got the Fish and Chips as well, the fish was good with the lemon and the fries had a nice flavor. It is served with tartar sauce but I switched it for barbecue, which was good. 5⁄5 Stars!

Had a good experience here. A little pricey and the happy hour is deceiving since it’s only for those who sit at the bar. A good place for kids and their oysters were delicious. Everyone was pleased with their meals and their dessert was excellent, it’s the bread pudding of the day.

We went here for a late dinner on a Friday, and it was exceptionally packed. We waited an hour for a table for two at 9 pm! Luckily we found a spot at the bar and grabbed some beers to tide us over. The crowd was coming off some sort of regatta, and I think we just got there at the wrong time to follow all of them. They had a good selection of local beers, and the waitress was knowledgeable in her recommendations. We ordered the crab dip, cream of crab soup, and a fish BLT. The food was classic Annapolis yacht club food– good seafood, good crab dip. We also had a few of their oysters, and they were excellent! The prices on the oysters was decent as well. It wasn’t too loud, but had the right kind of ambience. Parking wasn’t too difficult– there’s a lot of street parking in the area and we were lucky to grab a spot out front.

Oh my GOODNESS! This place is shut the front door flippin good! Like dynamite good! Also important: this place says local! Hopefully that’s true. We’ve visited Annapolis many times now and always end up with mediocre treats downtown. Nothing out of this world. However, we really wanted to venture out of the main touristy parts and boy were in for a real surprise! Turns out that Severn Avenue is where the legit restaurants are. The wait was approximately 30 minutes around 8:30 on a Saturday night. Not too bad. We observed the food coming out of the kitchen and it all looked terrific, which made deciding what to get a little difficult. We decided to go with the crab artichoke dip, the soft shell crab sandwich, and the crab cake sandwich. The crab artichoke? OMG! Lick the saucer delicious! Highly recommend this stuff. It’s like magic on slices of French bread. The soft shell crab and crab cake sandwiches were both incredible. Not too salty, not covered in Old Bay. Pretty much perfect. The sweet potato fries were also delicious. Everything was delicious. However, we may stick to the crab cakes next time. The soft shell crab was definitely something special, but crabs are so tiny that majority of what you eat is fried breading. Bomb, great, fantastic… you choose the adjective. We highly recommend this place! The meal is well worth the wait. We’ve had crab cakes and soft shells at some legit places in MD, to include Ocean City but this spot takes the cake. Thank goodness they’re not here in DC otherwise our waist lines would be in trouble! $ 70 and worth it! Oh WAIT, service is between two to three stars. Perhaps simply understaffed? Atmosphere: really neat. Lots of old stuff to look at. But this place is LOUD. But again, great food!

Boatyard Bar & Grill was completely packed when my mom and I arrived. Fortunately, we were quickly seated within a few minutes. Within five or so minutes, our orders were taken, and despite the packed restaurant, my food arrived approximately 15 minutes after ordering. My spaghetti with mussels was pretty good. The marinara sauce paired well with the mussels and didn’t overpower the taste of the mussels. Also, the pasta was cooked perfectly and was even a bit al dente. My experience would’ve been perfect had it not been for the fish that sat on top of my pasta dish. The fish tasted very fishy, indicating that it wasn’t fresh.

Couldn’t leave the Chesapeake without having Maryland crab(cake)! After exploring the naval academy and historic downtown, my husband and I crossed over to Westport to grab lunch. Since Boatyard doesn’t take reservation, we came hoping to beat lunch rush. Of course, the line was already through the door when we arrived. We were quoted half hour wait but managed to find two seats at the bar. My husband opted for the soft shell crab sandwich with pasta salad while I went for their famous crab cake sandwich with sweet potato fries. Both were excellent choice! The crispy soft shell crab was beautifully crusted. The pasta salad was perfectly dressed. My crab cake consisted of lumps and lumps of meat(barely tasted any breading or fillers!). The sweet potato fries — done so well, honestly my fav! Even the tartare sauce was house made. My whole platter — I couldn’t get enough. Overall — totally worth trekking over the bridge in blazing heat to grab a bite from Boatyard. Excellent dining choice when in Annapolis.

If you are looking for a good crab cake sandwich(or just a crab cake meal), I would highly recommend you pay a visit to boatyard! I had their crab cake sandwich and was pleasantly surprised about how much I enjoyed it. The bun was also soft, and the sweet potato fries were a perfect pair for the crab cakes. The hostess originally told us an hour wait, so we walked around for a bit, only to have our buzzer ring within 15 minutes!

I was really impressed by this place. I came here for brunch with 5 other people(no reservations allowed here) and we were seated pretty fast. The menu is HUGE and has everything you could possibly want. I had the breakfast pizza(sauce on the side) and it was so good. I actually ate all of it… minus the crust… but that doesn’t count. You can tell they didn’t want you sitting there for hours, since it’s not a huge restaurant. But service was great. Our waitress was very accommodating. I also loved my «boat-mojito» that I ordered. So good. I would definitely come back.

Probably the most casual restaurant option with amazing food in all of Annapolis. Laid back vibe, great bar area and relatively short waits for tables(compared with other spots in Annapolis), this should be one of your first choices. Cocktails: amazing choices and well-made with heavy hand pours(especially the pims cup and the dark ‘n’ stormy). Tap list is also pretty strong, but the cocktails are worth the price. Soups and salads are delicious, or just go with the really big entrees. The black and blue ahi tuna was absolutely succulent and delicious. I also tried the fish tacos and the mussels and both were similarly amazing… So if the city dock area is just a bit too swamped and busy, turn around and cross the bridge to the Eastport neighborhood and hit up the boatyard.

«Crab cakes and football that’s what Maryland does!» Yes is it. Here at Boatyard bar and grill crab cakes are their forte. The restaurant has a cute nautical theme that is comforting and welcome. The wait staff was very polite and friendly, she constantly checked up on us and made sure everything was great! As for the food, we got: Crab dip: a warm ooey gooey cheeses crabby dip that was heavy in all the write weighs. The dip was filled with chunks of crab and it’s served with warm toasted slices of bread. Careful it’s HOT but it’s gonna be hard to eat slow since it’s so good. Crab balls: they were just like mini fried crab cakes. Lots of crab! And it’s great if you want a taste of crab cakes but not the whole thing. Although what this dish really does is tease you and now you can’t help but get the crab cakes! crab cake sandwich: they say«all killer and no filler«and they aren’t kidding. This 6 oz crab cake is all crab. Every bite is a mouthful of lump crab meat. They keep the patty simple so that you get all the flavor of marylands fresh crab and no extra filler. Comes with fries(sweet potatoe fries costs extra) and some serious tartar sauce. I would definitely come back for this crab cake.

When in Maryland you have to get crab cakes and this place has crab cakes. They definitely have some delicious crab cakes, I’m sure the only ingredient is crab, each crab cake was jam packed with crab meat. I stopped by with some friends for lunch, we ordered the crab dip, crab balls, crab cake sandwich, and soft shell crab sandwich. All were crabastically crabilicous! The crab dip was spinach artichoke dip of the sea, the crab balls were mini bite sized crab cakes, and finally the sandwiches were both filled with crab goodness. Everything was extremely fresh and delicious. Also we really enjoyed the boathouse theme of the restaurant, it really added to the crab flavor. If you are in the area, it is highly recommended for your health to get a crab cake.

We always make a trip out to Boatyard when we visit Annapolis. Why? This place is DOGFRIENDLY! I love dog friendly spots! We were seated outside, and shortly after, another goldendoodle and his family came and sat next to us! Our doodles had a little play date which was really nice! The portions here at boatyard are HUGE! The Soft Shell Crab salad. A huge soft shell crab, fried to perfection. I love crunch in my salad and there is no better crunch than having some fried foods. Yes yes, I know, whats the point of eating salad if you’re just going to eat fried foods. I feel less guilty okay? Super delicious crab cakes! They are on the expensive side, but HUGE! Delicious, no filler crab cake. Not so delicious crab and artichoke dip. I’d skip this the next time. Service was great. They have a parking lot, but it is limited to 10 cars!
