Slow service. Horrible spicy tuna roll had some sweet cherry sauce on top. But the sushi was fresh tau wad the only plus.

**Closed** We just moved into this neighborhood and have jogged past this restaurant numerous times. We decided to check it out for a late lunch when it wasn’t too crowded. They have a large parking lot, which is always a bonus for me in this city. We enjoyed the food. The miso was tasty, the salad was meh, but I have never had an outstanding salad at a sushi house… ever, so my hope was that the ginger dressing was delicious, and it was. We tried the monkey brain, which we have had at Japanese restaurants, and it was prepared slightly differently, but this was good. I did not mind the fresh quality over the deep fried inside that I have had before — the portion was also larger than I anticipated, so perfect for an appetizer for a party of 3 – 4. We then ordered a few rolls from the menu and a few pieces of sushi. The sushi was outstanding — fresh and surprisingly good. The rolls were good — the specialty rolls better than the common rolls, but that was pleasing to us. The service was good — there were only 2 tables in the late lunch time slot we dined, so I would have been shocked if the service had been poor. Everyone was congenial. I am glad this is in my neighborhood, and I will definitely be having lunch there on a regular basis. Our bill(for 2) was $ 42, and I had sake — this is very reasonable for all we ate. The only negative thing I have to say is part of the restaurant looked to be under construction or some sort of change, with excess«stuff» in a visible area to customers — I believe most would find this unappealing.

Great restaurant. Wish I could go back everyday. Enjoyed the Sushi and Korean food. Lived in Korea for over 2 decades and most of my life in the Western Pacific and Asia and this food here brings me home. Definitely revisiting.

It’s too bad to see the bad reviews here, since this is a really good restaurant and I’d like to see it thrive. I think people who left the bad reviews had something of a missed expectation. This place is a Korean-sushi/sashimi place. They have the sushi men

My friends and I went on a Saturday night around 7pm and there were still some empty tables although still busy. The menu is in a different language and you have to ask to get a menu in English. But the English menu doesn’t tell you what some of the rolls are. We asked the waitress, but the waitress didn’t speak English so we just guessed. We ordered 6 rolls and a seaweed salad. It took them 50MINUTES to bring it out to us. Another waitress came by and asked us if we were ready to order even though we did a LONG time ago. How hard is it to put seaweed on a plate and bring it to us before we get the rolls? By the way, you have to grab a waitress each time, they don’t just stop at your table. We brought our concerns up to the manager(who did speak English) and said that four other tables who had arrived after us had already gotten their food. He said he would go «check». They brought out one roll a little while later, then about 15 minutes later they brought out the other ones. They sushi was just okay, definitely not worth the hour wait. The total was $ 120 which included some alcohol. Definitely not worth the price either. We will not be coming back.

My wife and kid were at her friend’s house today, so I thought I’d try Gangnam, since it’s really close to my place. To be honest, I was disappointed with this place when it was Osaka. The food was at best mediocre. With a new name, I thought it might be better. When I sat down at the sushi bar, I wasn’t sure whether to be heartened or scared, the placemat menu was in Korean. Well it is a Korean area, but still, I would have been more impressed with Japanese. The first thing I had was the miso soup. I was encouraged because I thought it was really good – strong, but that’s the way I like it. So I was really looking forward to the next dish, which was the salad. Now, I never really put much faith in the free sushi bar salad. It’s usually a few pieces of lettuce and an Asian style dressing. On the plus side it had red pepper shavings. On the minus side, the dressing tasted like French dressing. Now that was a disappointment. For sushi I ordered spicy tuna roll and the ‘Monkey Brain’.(I love the names of special sushi dishes.) Needless to say I was not impressed. The spicy tuna roll had a texture with which I was not familiar, was utterly tasteless, and had entirely too much spicy. For me the spicy tuna roll should have just enough heat to warm your mouth a bit. However, my mouth was burning for almost half an hour after I finished my dinner. I though that monkey brain would be interesting. The sushi menu described it as, «Spicy tuna, seaweed salad, and tobiko sculpted & sprinkled with tempura flakes with house sauce.» When I got it, it looked like there was a little bit more. As I pulled off the side I discovered it was lettuce. There was actually more on it than I had on my salad. When I looked at the inside, I realized that their spicy tuna was actually spicy tuna tartar. Maybe I’ve just missed that everywhere else. The spicy tuna had no more taste than it did in the tuna roll, but the seaweed salad was pretty good. However, when I took the top off I realized that they had left my culinary nemesis off the menu. Yes the top was avocado! As the overly ripe slimy fruit dissolved in my mouth, I tried to scoop up some of the house sauce on a piece of lettuce, I realized that it tasted remarkably like French dressing. Now how did that get on sushi. I must admit though, none of the strange tastes from any of the dishes lasted very long in my mouth. As often I do when I order sushi, I got sake. Probably against my better judgment, I ordered the house sake. Yes, I know many of you will say that was a bad decision. Well you’re right. I knew that it would be bad when I touched the carafe and it was hot – not warm – hot. When it finally cooled enough to try a sip, it was the single worst house sake I’ve ever had. Maybe I just don’t know my sushi. Maybe I don’t know my sake. I won’t becoming back. I feel like they took everything bad about Osaka and put in all over my dinner. Or was that French dressing?
