Best flower shop experience I have ever had! I know nothing about flowers and Dani was so helpful in selecting the perfect arrangement for my «situation.» No need to go into further details, but lets just say the flowers did the trick. I wish there were more occasions in my life that I would need flowers.

I’ve picked out bouquets with my friends here before and they turned out well, but I was disappointed with my first experience.
To start with the good: I think this really is a nice flower shop. The employees are incredibly friendly and willing to work with customers to make a bouquet that fits both the occasion and any budget constraints. It smells heavenly inside, and the flowers are all on display to make the selection process easy. They also do a great job of wrapping up the flowers in different types of beautiful materials, with even options like burlap.
However, my first purchase here turned out to be pretty unsatisfying. I spotted a beautiful flower in the display and immediately wanted it in my arrangement. The flower costed $ 4, which was fine, but to my dismay, the flowerhead fell off before I had the chance to give the bouquet to my friend. If a single flower costs so much, I would’ve expected it to last longer than it did. To me, the low quality of the flower unfortunately cancelled out some of the other things that I love about this flower shop.

I’m SO THANKFUL there is still a florist on campus, and for their super convenient location!
I was tasked with picking up a lovely bouquet for my (soon to be) ex-​coworker so I stopped in during lunch. They were able to help me immediately put something together. They just asked how much I wanted to spend and what kind of flowers. They had a lot of beautiful and unique looking blooms to choose from, so it was easy. I chose paper and cellophane wrapping (the usual, I know) but for contrast they tied it with twine and raffia, inserting a thistle blossom in the knot for an extra special touch. I couldn’t wait for my co-​worker to see it.
Needless to say, she loved it.
And…most places in A2 have tip jars. This place has a «leave money for flowers for people in need» jar. Such a thoughtful idea! I couldn’t resist throwing a few bucks in ‘cuz hey, who doesn’t like receiving lovely flowers unexpectedly?
Fabulous service, attention to detail and great prices. I couldn’t be happier with my experience!

University Flower Shop is under new ownership. I called on the Thursday before Mother’s Day (the other busiest day of the year for florists other than Valentine’s Day) to order a boutonnière for my daughter’s date for prom. I had called two other well-​known florists in Ann Arbor and neither was taking any more orders, even for something that small. I called University Flower Shop and Dani was super helpful. She made a beautiful arrangement and was lovely to work with. She’s just starting out so things may be a little rough around the edges at first, but I was very satisfied and will definitely go back.

I ordered a dozen pink roses over the phone a week before pickup and mentioned that I wanted it decorated as a handheld bouquet to be used for a proposal. When I went there to pick up, the roses were all individual in a box. When I explained that this is not what I wanted, the lady put the blame on me saying that she should have been told earlier and it’s not her fault that I was not clear over the phone. She did try to wrap the roses up as a bouquet but it certainly wasn’t what as good looking as I had intended.

There are just closed today… Guys you can’t be closed just in the middle of the day without any notice…

I was a little put off when I wandered into this shop to get some flowers for my wife. The person behind the counter (who was arranging a bouquet) said «can I help you?» to which I responded I’m looking for some flowers for my anniversary.
She replied «I’m sorry I can’t help you. We are just too busy.»
Kind of crazy that a florist turns away walk-​ins… I feel bad 1-​staring them so I’ll give them a second and tell myself it was just a bad day. But if you’re looking for occasion/​just because flowers, you may want to save yourself the parking hassle and go elsewhere.

University Flower Shop did the flowers for my wedding. They turned out very nice. I told them my budget and all my flower needs and then they told me the types of things they could do within my budget. I felt that strategy worked out best for me since I know absolutely nothing about flowers.
The flowers turned out very nice. Everything was exactly what we had discussed and they had great suggestions for how to reuse our bouquets and flowers from the ceremony as decorations for the reception.
There was some hassle since we were planning from afar, and had a little difficulty getting emails answered quickly and had some miscommunication a couple times about exactly what we needed/​wanted. But it all got worked out very well. **One thing to note was that I was dealing with the old owner, Dolly. She had sold the shop after we had made our deposit but before the wedding. She had stayed on just to finish her work for all the weddings she had scheduled and I got the impression that the new owner didn’t have a lot of experience doing weddings so that might be one thing to watch out for.

I’ve come here on a few occasions, and each time I’ve gotten spectacular service and had a selection of very fresh, colorful flowers.
The first time, I went to the salesperson and said, «I need a suggestion for flowers so that my boyfriend will forgive me.» For some reason I expected her to have the end-​all solution to my problem.
She just said, «Whatever you pick will be perfect.»
Normally, I’d be annoyed by that answer, but honestly I selected a damn good bouquet and you know it worked because I got forgiven for a pretty heinous undergraduate girlfriend crime.
Another time I had to get flowers for sympathy. The woman gave me the same advice, to get a flower that reminded me most of my friend. I asked her if there was an inappropriate flower, and she said no. So I got her a sunflower when I normally wouldn’t have gotten that as a sympathy flower. Again, my friend loved it and thought it was thoughtful.
They make your florals look amazing, I highly recommend them.

Fresh flowers for fair prices. The service is really good, and salespeople are really helpful for people who don’t know much about flowers. If you’re on campus, it’s your best bet.

After I get my hair cut at the Arcade Barber Shop I think about how my girlfriend’s going to like it. All of a sudden, thinking about her thinking about me makes me feel like a pompous dick. How can I redeem myself? How about some pretty flowers?
I walk inside and ask for something that wont upset her allergies but looks nice too. The nice lady at the counter tells me that Gerber Daisies are what I’m looking for. I oblige and get a couple. I think the purchase totaled under $ 5 too. Nice!
With a fresh haircut, pretty flowers, and some words of horticultural wisdom from the florist, I’m on my way back home looking and feeling quite dapper.
Make other girls feel jealous and walk through the diag with flowers in your hand and a smile on your face. Just make sure you get them from University Flower Shop.
