As an avid sushi fan, I’ve struggled to find great sushi in Ann Arbor, but Sushi Town knocks it out of the park every time! I’m a huge fan of this place, the rolls are always delicious, the miso and salad always great, and the employees are always kind. Love the service and the food, couldn’t ask for anything better!

Best authentic sushi in town. This place is no frills, but they do it right.

Amazing sushi and very adorable owners! Try the sashimi and seaweed salad! Also, the Michigan roll was delicious.

Sushi Town is the best! It has a very small parking lot so don’t plan on parking. It’s very lowkey and casual but the food is top notch. It’s a little weird when you go in because it’s not like a typical restaurant. You order at the window and then they bring you your food. The staff is always friendly, sometimes if you’re waiting for take out they’ll give you free tea.

Located in a deceiving place next to a hardware store. Not really a place for dine-in(I mean you can, it’s clean, but it kind of looks like a hospital). Taste isn’t anything more special, but the relative price for food portions is pretty good! I was kind of disappointed they had run out of the sashimi combo on a Saturday, well before closing time. The non-meat rolls are also pretty big.(Note: I eat large portions).

Had I come here with out reading Unilocal reviews I would have been VERY confused. I went with two coworkers for dinner around 7:30PM. You walk in and order at the counter then grab a seat in the small dining room. The service is very limited and water is served in white styrofoam cups. No soy sauce on the table. The sushi was very good. I tried the eel avocado roll and spicy tuna roll. Fish to rice ratio was on point and not over priced. Next time, take out.

I love the husband and wife team here. They are always incredibly gracious and thankful that you ordered from them! I only have ever gotten to go food and it’s always been great. They always throw in some type of free drink or miso soup. I probably wouldn’t ever dine in just because the atmosphere isn’t spectacular, but for carryout it’s perfect!

The best sushi in Ann Arbor. Great prices, fresh fish and tasty miso soup as well. The owner is always very friendly as well as the rest of the staff. Sadly I’ve moved farther away from downtown Ann Arbor and can’t always stop buy but when I do I’m never disappointed. Even working at a sushi restaurant myself I still like to find the time to drop in for some awesome sushi!

I went by a few nights before Christmas to get a late dinner. Despite posted that they were open until eleven, the sign was off and they where closing up.

Ann Arbor’s best kept secret. The location and appearance of the restaurant is extremely deceiving(next to a hardware store in a weird strip mall), but the food is phenomenal. Sushi town is the only sushi that I have had in Ann Arbor that is consistently fresh. If you are expecting a classy sushi dinner then Sushi Town is not the place for you. This place is certainly a hole in the wall but it is so delicious that you won’t even realize it. I cannot explain how happy I was when I found Sushi Town.

Was not really a fan. I thought I would give Sushi Town a try, but I came away disappointed. Ordering sushi to go is always a challenge, and I searched online to try and find a menu with prices(because their website doesn’t have prices). I found the FourSquare menu, and called to place my order. Waited 35 minites(fair wait for a Thursday night) for a Sushi Delux Combo(7 Pc Nigiri & Cali Roll) and a Spicy Tuna Roll. I anticipated my total to be $ 15 based on the prices online, but it came out to be $ 23 when I got there. Definitely caught me off guard. The Nigiri was alright, very fresh. Spicy Tuna roll was good. Cali roll was lacking. The order did come with a side salad and miso soup, which helped, but in the end I really could’t get over the price I paid compared to what I expected.

I found this place just today while searching for some good, authentic sushi beside Yotsuba. It’s a small business located in a corner where people usually missed. It is small but very clean. You can stand there and watch how they prepare your sushi. It’s that typically place you see in a Japanese cartoon, the parents making the sushi and the daughter help with taking order and serving, etc. I ordered 4 rolls of sushi to take-out. The people were so nice when I step out the door even it’s busy they all turn back and say thank you to me! Open the box of sushi it was so appetizing I jumped in to start my meal forgetting to take a picture(sorryyyyy)! The sushi is sooooo fresh and yummy it keep me eating until I have no possible space in my stomach to have even just one more piece(just kidding I did try to ate all of it and so stuff I passed out on my bed XD). Best sushi for a decent price, I definitely will be back!!!

I’ve always been intrigued going past this place ever since I moved to Ann Arbor but never stopped in until tonight, this was a big mistake! This has to be the best sushi place I’ve been too in town. Sure it’s not a place to take a date or have a beverage, but what it lacks in ambiance it makes up for in taste & value. We ordered 3 rolls(spicy tuna, eel & avocado and mexican roll) and salad. This was enough for dinner for two. The eel and avocado was good, it didn’t have a ton of eel flavor though. The mexican roll was shrimp tempura and had great flavor. It was a little large for one bite, but most speciality rolls are. The spicy tuna has been one of the best I have ate. First it was a slice of tuna, not tuna salad. It was topped with spicy sauce and a dot of siracha. The salad was a small takeout container packed with iceberg and a generous side of ginger dressing. The owners even threw in two free Lipton green teas as we picked up the to go order. Prices were very reasonable, $ 5-$ 10, and the rolls were a good size. I also like that while they had a good variety of rolls, it wasn’t ‘too many’. Sometimes I feel like the menus are the same roll over & over that it’s hard to choose. I’ll definitely be back!

It is with some embarrassment that I announce that I am over Sushi Town’s offenses of yesteryear. I have been treated to their sushi several times since, including on my birthday. Delicious, consistently fresh, somehow in Ann Arbor – some trinitarian mysteries cannot be explained. Today I went in in person for the first time, to pick up an order that I had been kind of annoying about(I don’t like salmon, but I like complex rolls). The chef not only had complied, but his person also inspired great warmth, especially when my meager tip resulted in free add-ons. The sushi was incredibly tasty. Is that supposed to be possible here in southeast MI? But it was so much better than I had expected, maybe the best ever from them. On an 80 degree day in the midwest, the snapper and tuna and yellowtail melted freshly in my mouth. I questioned it, and took another bite to verify, and another. Each bite was this feeling of surprised happiness over and over, till, at the last bite, I felt perfectly satiated(with some leftover, very fresh-looking crab salad to spare – delightfully unmayonnaised!). Then I went into my office and wrote this. I haven’t again encountered the person who owns the voice from the phonecall last year, and I hope I never have to. I retain my feminist card and acknowledge that some things can change for the better.

My fiancé and I absolutely love this place! I just moved here from California and would just die if I couldn’t have sushi. We go here about once a week!!! I always get c10: sake ju(6 or 7 pieces of raw salmon on sushi rice) and my fiancé gets c6: sushi combo. We’ve tried a couple of sushi places around Ann Arbor but this is by far our favorite place! They always give such hearty slices of fish. The salmon(sake) is soooooo good and my fiancé insists I include that, «their hamachi is amazing!» Each combo comes with miso soup and salad. It is owned by such a lovely korean couple who genuinely appreciate your business. The cashiers are always so patient and sweet! this place is not a sit down place, we always get take out for a date night at home(: the parking situation is terrible but if you order ahead you should be in and out quick so double parking is possible sometimes. It’s right next to a hardware store but there is a huge sign that says sushi town(:

I was in Ann Arbor for some meetings on campus, and wanted to find something in walking distance. Ann Arbor Unilocalers did not steer me wrong! My colleague and I were a little nervous when we saw the location next to the hardware store… but all was good once we went inside! Definitely do not run away when you see the location! Everyone was very friendly and service was wonderful! I had the crab salad and a spicy salmon roll. Both were fresh and tasty! The crab salad came with plenty of real and imitation crab and avocado slices. The roll was a very generous serving for the price and did not skimp on the salmon! Miso soup and a salad with ginger dressing were included. The soup was particularly good on a chilly night! My dinner total, including a soft drink was $ 14; seriously. It was a nice easy walk from campus, so I definitely recommend this place if you staying on campus and are looking for some good sushi!

Still outstanding quality and price. Sit down, or takeout, Sushi Town is consistently our go –to joint for family sushi dinners. One of the only spots near campus you can actually park for free. Try the crab salad; it’s very refreshing. Shrimp shumai is a great hot side dish, and if you haven’t had a sushi town special yet, grab a friend and try it. It’s huge. Enough to share.
