Even though this is the closest middle eastern market to my house, I’ve pretty much given up on going there. Too often they’re out of what I need. Was in there last week looking for tahini – when it comes to mediterranean ingredients, how much more basic can you get? But they had absolutely none. Same for haloumi cheese. Sometime I’ve gone looking for spices I’ve seen on hand there before only to find them sold out. I could continue with other cases of this, but you get the idea. You might chalk this up as a run of bad luck, but it’s happened too often to be a matter of chance. Produce there is almost inevitably shriveled, long past prime. Service is spotty-you can spend a long time wandering the aisles before anyone offers help. I’ve been overcharged for items several times. It’s a mistake any cashier might make, but when it happens repeatedly, it’s hard to believe that’s all it is. The saving grace of this place is meat counter. While I haven’t bought a lot of meat from them, what I’ve bought has been good, and most meat offerings look fresh. Next time I start craving for a goat stew, I’ll go back to the Jerusalem. Until then, I’ll drive a little further to get my middle eastern staples and treats.

The customer service here is great. The manager treats all his customers well and they have great prices. First time here and I can guarantee you I’ll be here often. If your looking for halal meat in the area a must visit

Extremely high quality local meats. If you like lamb curry, a good steak or roast chicken, this is the place to go to. The owner purchases the animals from local farms, and you can definitely taste the difference. They also give you excellent advice on the best cuts for the recipes you want to cook. They are nice, warm, throwing in an extra piece of fruit or two at the end. What can I say? I wish there were more places like this one in Ann Arbor.

I would say this place is definitely a hidden gem in Ann Arbor, I feel so lucky that I just live right across street so I can go there frequently. They have dates, tomatoes, and fresh, clean beef, chicken and lamb. I also got walnuts from there. The owner is extremely nice and friendly, I love it!

Amazing service, nice selection, and great people. Their prepared foods are good(hummus, garlic sauce, grape leaves, etc) but their halal meat, dairy products, and dried goods are what really stand out, along with the friendly atmosphere and terrific prices. Jerusalem Market is a weekly stop for us, and we eat better as a result.

These guys are so nice! Always giving me extra, more than I paid for. One time I tried to tip them for hooking me up, but they threw the tip back at me and gave me more free stuff. My go-to for halal meat. Close, convenient, clean and cost-efficient. One of the best halal grocery stores I’ve ever been to in my life. Truly a gem in Ann Arbor.

Was visiting a neighboring store, and just wandered in. Very friendly staff. I was asking about olive oils as I usually buy Greek, and was told to try their«good stuff» which was Lebanese. They broke off some bread and had me try some for free. It was great so I bought a reasonably priced giant bottle! I also bought some lamb cuts that were very fresh, that I grilled that day. I’ve been cooking Mediterranean since I was 9, and loved the selection and the staff. Old world tradition + small town service = awesome shopping experience.

When the new owners bought this place I was a little sad and nervous. That was when I was dumb and naïve. They have done a wonderful job at cleaning the place and having a great variety of meats(but not pork. in case you want to come looking for that here) and some middle eastern groceries. What’s more, my babies love this place. They interact with the kids when we are in there. They also make sure to spike my grocery bag with a few lollipops when I don’t bring them. I don’t buy meat anywhere else in town. These are my butcher folk and they are super customer oriented. I feel like I’m in cheers every time I go in there. The whole staff greets you.

P. S. They go shopping on Wednesdays, so that’s when you should go in for fresh produce/stuff they might run out of, like a particular kind of rice.

Nestled in with a bunch of other ethnic food options in The Courtyard shopping center, Jerusalem International Market is a clean, bright medium-sized Middle Eastern grocery. On the day I visited, they had only maybe 30 or 35 different kinds of produce, but it all looked good. They also have tons packaged food, refrigerated meats and dairy items, huge jars of olives, cans of mashed chick peas so you can just add garlic and oil to make your own hummus at home, bulk spices and more. Although the emphasis is on Middle Eastern food stuffs, they also had a small selection of Indian spices and foods as well. Prices were not the cheapest I’ve seen, but they were reasonable.
