***BASEDONTWOVISITSBELOW*** Finally returned after almost a year because there are so few local stores to purchase children’s shoes in so decided to give it another try… Today, sales associates(2 gentlemen) were very attentive when I walked in today with 2 of my children to shop for shoes. One quickly offered to measure the kids feet and did so. After asking what we were looking for he proceeded to show us the rows of shoes available in my sons’ size and showed me how to tell range of available size for any particular style by looking at the shelf tag. Once my 8 yo son found a shoe he liked, the 2nd clerk offered additional help to assist my tween on finding her desired shoe(high top Converse) in the various size categories(womens’ size 6, kids size 5, etc) for the same shoe. He also detailed current promotion on all shoe laces priced at $ 1, socks all BOGO, etc. The good customer service juices were flowing this time. I felt so good I wanted to keep shopping. On the way to the counter, I caught sight of a pair of Croc brand loafers my same as the ones husband purchased the previous year from the Croc store. Even though he wasn’t with me, I decided to grab a pair because they were priced at $ 39.99 down from the $ 54.99; I called hubby to check his size and added this to our purchase. Overall a MUCHBETTER shopping experience relative to the one we had some months ago. ****PREVIOUSREVIEWBELOW**** I spent the early years of my professional life working first in corporate sales for a children’s shoe manufacturer based in Northeast U. S. then later in retail. One of the things I learned was that besides price and quality, the best thing a shoe or any retailer can offer is great customer service. The sales associate I dealt with today could certainly take a lesson in this. She failed to tell me about a store promotion which in the end cost me $ 30 more than I should have paid in my $ 200 spent on shoes for my children and then also resulted in me returning and having(another sales associate) redo the entire order to refund me the difference. What was so bad about it was not so much the money as was the service(or lack of service). Throughout the whole process she had a dismissive attitude and never once did someone issue an apology. I spend a significant amount on shoes and clothing for my 3 growing children(2 are adolescents currently having 3 – 4 inch annual growth spurts!) I hate to say it but I will certainly think twice when it is time to purchase the next pair of shoes in a few months… Or weeks!!!

The male staff was good, approaching and helped out. The check out staff with attitude didn’t honor $ 10 off coupon as promised and recommended by other staff when I shopped previously, which caused embarrassment. It’s not smart to upset customers. It seemed that different workers work in different ways.

Friendly, attentive workers here. The long black boots were out of my price range even on clearance, but sneakers, running shoes and shorter boots seemed reasonably priced. I’ll probably be back here when I need a new pair of shoes.
