Someone’s review about the food portion is big??, I think is NOT correct! Very not satisfied with the service! Not enough waiter, long waiting time. They don’t follow the queue! Can u imagine how long I have been waiting until I called the guy and asked, can u pls take our order? And, they r racist, They will put more priority to white than Asians! The food comes late even we suppose dine in first. Not satisfied with the food either! We ordered egg flower soup, fried squid and lemon chicken! Sorry, Will definitely NOT come back!

I have to write a review for this restaurant. We live in Silicon valley and are here for a ski trip. Being used to all different kinds of Chinese food in bay area, I didn’t really expect anything good in the middle of no where. However, this Chinese restaurant really surprised me. We went there for dinner two days in a row, per my little son’s request. After the second dinner, he said«I wish we could live here so that we can eat their food everyday». Highly recommend Scallop & Prawns, Broccoli and Fried rice. When we were their for the second day, it’s fully packed and we had to wait for a table, and because we were a little hungry, so we ordered and took the food back to the hotel. Their take out packing was also very careful, no spill, with everything we need to enjoy the meal. Stuff was very friendly, I can see there were a lot of regular patrons, who were addressed by their names, hard to get this family feeling in crowed bay area.

I read all the reviews thinking it was okay, not. I ordered the Orange chicken, too spicy and soggy. Next is the really expensive Pepper salt ribs, not ribs but neck bones Ordered the Garlic scallops, 5 scallops and the rest is onions, bell peppers and some chestnuts. Finally, the house hong kong style noodle, it really made it worse. The $ 50 is not worth it. Maybe it’s different if dine in ???

The only and the best Chinese Restaurant surrounding Angels Camp. You need to try all their items on the menu for it is good. Otherwise good. luck finding Chinese food in Calaveras county.

I love their iced tea, crab and cheese stuffed wontons, and wor wonton soup. Staff is very friendly. Great inexpensive lunch specials come with egg drop soup, eggroll, an entrée, and fried rice or chow mien.

Am staying near Angels Camp for the weekend and was looking for some good Chinese in the area and after asking around I was told Far East Chinese was where it’s at for good food at a reasonable price. Located on the corner of 49 and Hwy 4 in the shopping complex with Starbucks and Round Table pizza and a Mexican restaurant(LA Hacienda I think which I hear is good also) the decision was made to give Far East a try. Almost ordered the $ 13.95 combination for 2 with sizzling rice soup and appetizer platter with entrees but decided to save $ 9 and went with the combinations that turned out to be plenty of food. Opted for the #2 and the #7 combinations which both come with egg drop soup, egg roll and fried crab cream cheese Wonton, fried prawn with sweet n sour sauce for starters. $ 9.50 #2 was the General chicken(unbreaded) with ½ chicken chow mein and ½ pork fried rice which was really good with a perfect medium spice. $ 9.50 #7 was the Lemon chicken w pork fried rice and chicken chow mein. Pork fried rice and chow mein here is NOT too greasy and isn’t saturated in soy sauce. I was told the lemon chicken was bland so I tried it and disagreed and thought if u want to finish a dish not too tangy or sweet, this was the perfect sauce. Just my opinion. Chicken breast is lightly breaded and cooked whole, then sliced and drizzled with a light lemon sauce. With that said, American Chinese lovers often opt for the initial flavor punch of super sweet and tangy without recognizing the value of moderation. To each their own. Came back Saturday and ordered the appetizer platter which was very good(wish they added pork to their egg rolls) but the 2 bbq spareribs had lots of meat, a bit of 5 spice powder that wasn’t overwhelming, and a bowl of sweet and sour sauce to dredge it in. Fried shrimp, small egg rolls and cream cheese Wonton were both good. Also tried the sizzling rice soup which was legit with all the goodies and is a star and I understand why they serve that with their most expensive family dinner– Broth isn’t bland nor too salty and has lots of vegetables along with the effervescent char flavor or the sizzling rice. I Highly recommend it! They serve tea with the meal and a glass of water but unfortunately their water tastes unfiltered which I’m not a fan of. With that said, this East West Chinese jewel is a diamond in the rough and a solid 4 stars. For what it’s worth, was here Friday and Saturday night early December and it was pretty packed but only had to wait 5 minutes Friday with no wait on Saturday.

No. unless you are desperate-small servings, dinner prices(my son needed to eat after miniscule portion of orange chicken)-the tiny serving dish was 50% broccoli, we received the orange chicken way before everything else… I tried to order the special from the board– Bok Choy, but was told it was all gone… so ordered shrimp with snow peas(frozen veg/frozen shrimp), and soup… never got the won-ton soup(watery, bland) until the meal came-shrimp was watery and poor quality-way smaller portions than in Sonora or Modesto, even-and had a plate of pot stickers slammed in the middle of our table still while waiting for soup and even though I said not ours they looked at me like I was crazy… then came back, removed it and gave it to the correct table…

WOW. I am surprised by the positive reviews. We came here on a Friday night and they were very busy with take out and we had a wait to get seated. Yes, they give large servings but I must say this is by far the worst food and worst Chinese food I’ve ever eaten. The veggies were mostly frozen as one dish had frozen peas and carrots as the vegetable and the mushroom and zucchini on the Egg Fu Young were not fresh. The Egg Fu Young was very dense and really yucky. The staff was fast and efficient.

Was in town for the weekend visiting. Came in to dinner with my family. Great service and great food! This place was pretty full and people would come in when people would leave. Obviously, the food and prices keep them coming back!

Ok. Good. recomendations general to chicken sauce was great not brown or gloomy or neon red like I have had, but light and airy. the dumplings are amazing light airy really good, also soup really good. Pork fried rice dew under cooked peices but ok. and there was a small fly buzzing tables because the door kept open and close. other then that really good you wouldn’t expect that from this place. Plus they take discover! And think they have local delivery only

Im gonna start by saying one star is more than I would like to give. I stayed in a hotel nearby, and was far past my rational thinking stage due to hunger, so I found the ONLY open restaurant in town. Chinese food sounded like all I could ever hope for. I walk in and there was one other family eating in the corner, our waitress was much less than pleased to see us or possibly even be alive. Not a smile, a head nod or even eye contact. A man took our order of Mongolian beef, fried cream cheese wontons, egg rolls, house fried rice, pork lo mein, and sautéed garlic broccoli, he nodded, smiled and said good choices. Our food came surprisingly fast, and at first I was VERYVERY exited about this. I was to the point of hunger that I could have eaten the napkin with soy sauce and been ok with it. And after eating what came to the table I would have been much better off in doing so. I’m gonna jump straight to the real issue. I do not know what is being used as the beef substitute, but whatever it was I put in my mouth was not any type of recognizable meat. It looked the right color and was presented decently, and yet it was the consistency of gummy worms that got left in the sun. The«vegetables» surrounding it were tasteless and i burned more calories chewing than I could afford to loose, so I moved on to the egg rolls. At first bite textures felt right, so I kept chewing, between the 3rd and 4th chew gag reflexes kicked in whial making awkward eye contact with the already unhappy wait staff. My senses were overwhelmed with what smelled and tasted like some kind of antibacterial cleaner. I spit it out and was somehow brave enough to give a different one a try, which was just as regretful. The lo mein noodles were obviously over cooked and so saturated with msg I had heartburn before I finished my second bite. So i went straight for the broccoli, knew there should only be 3 ingredients as the menu said, oil, garlic, and broccoli. The oil was more of a sauce, which I was okay with the flavor was great. The broccoli looked very fresh and vibrant green and each piece looked identical and perfect. Obviously GMOs at their finest. I got no garlic flavor at all, just a sweet and savory sauce. No bad flavor just strange textures, as with every dish I tried. However, I will say that the house fried rice was made very well. Rice was cooked perfectly and had a good flavor, however the amount of meat they fried with it was unecessary and fucking gross. More gelatin based«beef» product, grey and pink cubes of «pork», soggy prawns everywhere, and of course loads of the mystery«chicken». I picked out half a handful of rice and ate it like my life depended on it. Finally the check comes, with two fortune cookies(my favorite and sometimes main reason for even eating Chinese food). At this point me and my dad are just laughing hysterically, he felt violated just handing his credit card over and paying for 47 $ worth of depression and heartburn. We laughed, and got over the grossness of it before we ever left the restaurant. We shared stories of other Chinese food disasters, which we quickly realized were the true nightmares of the public dining options. Not many people know that Chinese restaurants, more likely the ones owned by men or women from China, get all of their supplies from China as well. That includes the food. If you’re curious about their quality and nutritional or hygienic standards for factories that ship to america, I dare you to google. After eating there I went back to the hotel and straight to bed. Woke up at 8:45 am with ungodly cramps and the sure notion I was about to vomit, possibly everywhere. After some recreational vomiting and diarrhea, I became severely depressed. I assumed it was just a bad start to a shitty day, but it never improved the next day, or the next. I’ve had my fair share of disappointing Chinese food, but never any that resulted in me being disappointed with life. The food here later made me question if I even wanted to live on this planet. The answer is, I do not. If i had to eat their food again, I would leave earth, by any means necessary. I did not go in this place expecting fine dining and elegant cuisine, it was late, they were all that was open and it’s a small town in the foothills of California. I really do feel sympathy for the miserable people who were working that night, or possibly every day and night. 12 hours after eating there I felt like I understood their grief. My condolences.

We’ve been coming here for the last 13 years, and will continue to do so for as long as they choose to stay in business. Yes, it does have that old Americanized Chinese food restaurant/diner feel, but the staff is friendly and helpful, always gets our orders right(even remembers exactly what my kids want — every time!), and never makes us wait longer than necessary to get the food out to us hot and ready! Their lunch specials are piled high for a decent price. Love the general & lemon chicken dishes, they have great pork fried rice, and, if you like it spicy, they can accommodate just the level of HOT you want. We will definitely will be back, again and again, and recommend it to our friends, too. :)

I had a craving for Chinese food and this was the only Chinese restaurant in the area so I decided to check this place out. ***BEWARETHEIRSERVINGSAREHUGE*** ATMOSPHERE: It seemed average when you walk in. It’s what you would expect from an average Chinese restaurant. The booth we had was worn down so we requested to sit on a table. FOOD: I got the lemon chicken combination. It came with soup of the day, chow mein, egg rolls, and rice. Lemon chicken: 4⁄5 — it has a zing into it and it was flavorful. Not the best I had but it was good enough. Egg drop soup: 5⁄5 — this was one of the best egg drop soup I’ve ever had. I highly recommend getting the combination, if not, the soup itself. Chow mein: 3⁄5 — it tasted bland to me. Rice: 4⁄5 — pretty good fried rice. I’m satisfied with it. CUSTOMERSERVICE: Their customer service was great. They were glad to accept all our requests and our waitress was kind and we even had a small chat with her. One small downside was at the bathroom, which are single occupants, there were no napkins. Would I come back here? YAAAS! Would I recommend this place? YAAAS!

We ordered the Mandarin Dinner for three which included appetizer, soup, three entrees. noodles. Everything was delicious and tasty. It was fun to share this dinner and not have to make up our minds what we all wanted, the server just kept bringing wonderful dishes. Look forward to eating there next time I’m in town.

Friendly folks in a stark setting. I was not expecting much in the region of good food. Man was I wrong. Everything we had was prepared well and full flavoured. It rivals and American Chinese we have had. So I have no idea if this was a blunder considering some of the reviews. But if it was I am glad it worked in our favour.

Pretty much the only Chinese in town, and to go orders are fast, but bland is the word here. Chow fun: The beef in this is same thin, gummy beef in the beef with broccoli. The dish was pretty bland overall, and my kids, who love this, only had a few bites before giving up on it. Broccoli with beef: off tasting with almost soggy broccoli. Again, almost ignored after a bite or two. Orange chicken: This was mostly eaten, but was also quite bland, with just a hint of orange peel. The batter was pretty soggy too. To be fair we ordered just before closing time, and were lucky to get food. Perhaps they are better during peak hours.
