Delicious burgers and fries with quite a variety of both. Can’t give a 5 star rating though because they seem to cook one burger at a time so our group of 4 had to wait about a half an hour between where the first plate cam out and the last plate was served, not to mention the wait before the first plate came out. Also there were dozens of flies inside. When the host says«Oh you say at the table with the most flies because of the window,» you know it’s a frequent problem. We probably won’t return.

I came here during memorial weekend and it was full of flies. Very unsanitary and disgusting. They really need to do something about it. If it was possible I wouldn’t even give them one star.

Didn’t seem like much walking in and I couldn’t stop coughing from the roasting peppers in the kitchen. The girl at the front was very personable and accommodating. You order your food at the front register, grab your drink and either have a seat inside or you can go to the back enclosed patio. The back patio has a very cool old world feel. You’re surrounded by stone and over grown vines. They play punk rock from the late 90’s/early 00’s and I love it! The owner brought our meals out along with a variety of homemade dipping sauces and was very very nice. I ordered a veggie burger«garden style». It had lettuce, avocado, tomato and cucumber. It was the best veggie burger I have ever had(combined with the homemade chipotle sauce). My dining partner got their burger ranchero style which looked so amazing that I may have to try it before we leave town. Note: If you like your fries a little more well done, I recommend just asking before leaving a bad or neutral review as they are very accommodating here.

The service was great. Very friendly staff. It’s a small place with limited seating, but I wouldn’t have expected more given the location. They do offer patio seating in the back. The food was delicious. Not your typical burger by far. I definitely enjoyed their Nutella milkshake. If we ever head out that way again we will come back to try your other menu items.

My burger was decent. The fryer was down so that sucked. The place itself has a Berkeley vibe. Definitely gritty! I am not sure if I will go back but I really want to like this place.

We decided to give Burger Bar a 2nd chance after hearing there’s a new owner and we are so glad we did! Excellent burgers, creative fries, and the girls working behind the counter and in the kitchen are awesome… I’m already hooked on the dill fries and because life sometimes works in magical ways I ended up eating them twice in one day. Give them another try if you haven’t been in awhile.

DUDE, could you please, ATLEAST, put half of a smile on your puss??? The burgers were good and the waitress was fantastic! On the other hand, Dave and I had a convo with the gentleman on the patio, who has lived in Angels for over 40 years and this was his first(and most probably his last time) has a very lucrative business, who ALSO noticed how uninviting you are. I have been in the customer service industry for over 40 years and know, without a doubt, that YOU sir do NOT belong among us. I have read your response to others who have seen the same dourness… and wah, wah, wah…;.your answer had to do with some sort of stress. If you own a business put YOURBIGBOYPANTIES on and deal with it!!! If you are in the front of house, WEWILLNEVERRETURN… Have a better day…

We really wanted to try this place, but it was closed the first couple of days that we tried. Luckily we were staying in the area all week and finally found a day they were open. The menu said the burgers could be «beef, Turkey, veggie, or fish», but when we ordered, they only had beef and veggie. Our daughter really wanted turkey or chicken, so we left. We were very disappointed that after trying several times to eat at this place, they were either closed or did not have several items on their menu. It was really hot and stuffy inside too. Not very inviting. Granted, it was afternoon on a warm day, but maybe some fans to circulate the air would go a long way towards making it more comfortable for customers. The girl at the front counter was pleasant though. Sorry it didn’t work out.

Great burgers, garlic fries were awesome — and HUGE portions for 10.00! We couldn’t eat it all! It was such a nice day sitting on the patio — wish we would have known that it was dog friendly, we would have brought ours. Oh well! Next time!

Been there twice now. They don’t disappoint. The Maui burger… Patty was perfectly cooked for my taste. Well done but really juicy. Pineapple, Caramelized onions. Big enough to share if you’re on a date and don’t want to look like a pig. I was not on a date so I stuffed myself and dealt with the shame later. It’s the kind of burger that just sits on the table in front of you for a minute while you try to make a plan of attack… Do I cut in in half? Wrap it in a napkin? You may want to bring gloves because all those beautiful delicious juices will be running down to your elbow by the time you’re done. Don’t be afraid, their sauces are the best part. The house sauce and the spicy chipotle are the best. If you beg and pleade you might be lucky enough to be served with a sample of all the sauces. Leave a good tip, it must be really expensive for them to have that retail location downtown and they are one of those«local small Businesses» you have to respect. Don’t worry, you won’t spend anymore money than you would at a «fast food» burger joint, you’ll get twice as much food, 10 times better quality so I think a good tip won’t hurt your pocket any. The décor? Well, there isn’t any. But… That doesn’t take away from the charm. The building has wooden floors that are probably 100 years old. It’s in a historic part of gold country. The history of the place will be enough to keep you’re eyes busy. So, if you are passing through or just not even anywhere close you should consider stopping by. I literally cannot say enough good stuff about this place.

It was yummy! The food came out fast. The onion rings are battered not breaded. We would eat there again.

Burger Bar don’t waste your time on this place. Although the burger was decent everything else was far from good. Restroom was gross, table was dirty even though it was wiped down(towel was dirty) and feet stuck to the floor. Small menu which is fine, but no fish, no salad, no onion rings and no ice for the drinks…

My family stopped in over the Presidents Day/Valentines weekend and the three of us each had a burger. I got the Ranchero, which came on a fresh crisp bun and contained roasted jalapeños, grilled onions, bacon, pepper jack cheese, and a chipotle sauce and a not overly huge hamburger patty and the girls got plain cheeseburgers. The Ranchero had great flavor but wasn’t smothered in toppings, so you could still enjoy the flavor of the meat. All three of us thought the burgers were awesome! So much so that I almost got one for the road. They were out of fries(and a lot of other things) when we were there so if plan to go here on a busy weekend go early.

So happy to see this place open again. My first visit after the new owners reopened. Four different burgers and they were all very good. Quality beef and a generous portion. The generous portions carried over to the sides. In fact maybe too generous on the sides. Not that I’m complaining. Fast service and super friendly. Only thing I would change is the amount of garlic on the garlic fries. I’m gonna be tasting those for days. Highly recommend this spot.

This place has the feel of a place that won’t be around much longer. There are three suggestions I have to the owner that do not involve the food, that may help make the place feel more welcoming: 1. Get some shades for the windows. Being there in the mid-late afternoon sucks when you’re baking behind the west-facing glass of the front windows. 2. Improve the ventilation. The amount of smoke in the place was appalling. It was like being in a casino. 3. Maybe some background music or something? The only noise in the restaurant we heard while we were waiting(a long time) for our food was an incessant, high-pitched whine from one of the appliances in the back. The food was nothing to write home about, either. It was just a Sysco hamburger patty, slice of cheese and a plain bun. My companion got something that was supposed to have avocado on it, but got guacamole. Also, they really overdid it with the mustard and salt. Definitely not worth the $ 10. This place needs some work to get back to what it once was. Otherwise, it’s going to be another small business statistic.

Dear Burger Bar, Thank you so much for serving me an overpriced microwaved burger. How can you suck at what your establishment is named for? I’ve worked in the restaurant business for a very, VERY long time and you can tell, this place is a dying business. They are cutting corners left and right. 1. Microwaving your burger, it’s like the cooked it before somewhere then microwaved it. 2. The bun was just about stale, obviously cheap dry buns. 3. The cheese on my burger was literally the cheap fake cheese you can get at the store 50 slices for 2 bucks 4. The fries were old, you could tell because they were rock hard and they sucked up all the oil from the fryer. 5. The unhappy older guy that stares at you as soon as you walk in making you so uncomfortable.(You could tell he did not want to be there) 6. The fact that their atm/cc system«just broke» but the sign saying so looks like it’s been there for awhile.(Hint: you have an app driven pos system, dl foursquare) There was a younger girl there that was very nice and super cheery. Save yourself the disappointment. DON’T GOHERE! It’s a waste of money! Literally McDs has better burgers than this place!

OMG you have to try this place it is awesome, I went as far as recommending this place to Chef Guy Fieri on his show Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. I got a Beef Pyrenees Burger with sweet potato fries and my wife got the Beef Americano Burger with shoestring fries. My kids got little cheeseburgers with fries which was good for them. That Pyrenees burger was packed with so much good flavor my mouth was just in heaven. The bitterness of the cheese mixed with the sweet caramelized onions was a great pairing. My wife enjoyed her burger as well and it was just enough to make us happy. Now of course being in a country foothill town the prices are not always friendly but the taste made up for it. It was a very low-key facility but that town is not always buzzing unless the fair is going on. I would so come here again for anothe round of burgers.

Tasty burger! First time customer here this afternoon and ordered the Manhattan Beef Burger and shoestring fries. Manhattan came with caramelized onions, sauteed mushrooms, and Swiss cheese served grilled with white bread(not bun). Our order was served quickly and it was delicious and tasty! It was actually great and filling! Their menu is simple. For $ 10 one can have a choice of beef, turkey, tuna or veggie burger. Then there are 8 choices of styles including the one I had, the Manhattan. There is also the Americana(regular burger), Italiano(includes sundried tomato and basil pesto), Rio Rancho(spicy and includes fire roasted jalapeño), Pyrenees(includes hickory smoked bacon), La Jolla(tomato, cucumber, avo etc), Maui(pineapple and beer battered onion rings) and Durango(beer battered onion rings, smoked bacon with bacon BBQ). They all sound so good! If you’re not hungry for a burger they also offer bratwurst and giant hot dogs($ 8). You have your choice of sides: shoestring fries, belgian fries, sweet potato fries, onion rings, small salad or soup. They also have a la carte items and milkshakes! The restaurant is not very big but is spacious and kept clean. The staff is nice and friendly. It is located along old historic Main Street with other shops. We were able to find parking alongside the restaurant but I could imagine the street being full. The store has a break in between serving. They close for a couple of hours between 3:00p and 5:00p. When they open up again at 5:00p they are open until 8:00p.

We have some good news and some bad news. Good news: You are likely to get a good burger here. I had the Durango; combine the barbecue sauce with the onion ring and you had a winner. My hunny has Crohn’s, so she couldn’t have any of the combinations, but they accommodated by selling her a cheeseburger with only the beef and cheese. You can also have a turkey patty or veggie patty, but I’m biased, it’s just not a real burger if it’s not BEEF. Bad news: little seating area. I think there’s seating in the back of the building, but I’m not sure. Not many combinations, and it’s not well known that they can customize. I was uncomfortable that, on a slightly busy weekend afternoon, the girl who ran the register was also the one who delivered the food; they could use an additional person. My story: Sides include shoestrings or belgian fries; «What are belgian fries?» She told me, steak fries. «Okay, I’ll have shoestrings.» I got my Durango Burger. .. with belgian fries. «Wait, I asked for shoestrings.» She got this are-you-kidding-me look and asked«Do you really want me to replace these belgian fries with shoestrings?» Um, yes. Not cool. So it’s there, the food’s good, but buyer beware.
