Great place to come for sandwiches even early in the morning. We got ours wrapped to go. Had a decent selection of Kumbocha as well.

We love this store and shop there often due to being in the area five days a week. They have so many great things, including an excellent olive bar, sushi maker, butcher shop, wines and hot items excellent produce and a great sandwich counter that you seldom find in a story of this type. Lolly always finds us a good watermelon. I love them but don’t know how to pick a good one. The mortadella sandwich they made me today was terrific, and a dollar off, so it was a bargain, and they always have a sandwich special. Angels Camp is lucky to have it.

Friendly store clerks, except for one that young gal that kept on staring. It’s not nice to stare at people. Aside from that, be sure to check your receipt because I didn’t realize that I got charged twice for an item until I got home. By then, it’s too far to drive back and tell them to correct it.

Very pleasant staff, the sandwich specials are a good deal($ 5.99 for a big ham and cheddar panini), and brown rice California rolls were fresh and good. Come before 7pm if you want hot ribs or roasted chicken(whole, just thighs, or just drumsticks). Great selection of gourmet olives. And we had a very nice bottle of screw-top merlot(didn’t bring our bottle opener on vacation). Staying at the Best Western Cedar Inn, this was a convenient fast place to get dinner(twice).

These folks spoil me. We order a couple gallons of Organic Pastures raw organic whole milk each week and drive the 20 miles into Angels Camp to pick the milk up the same day it comes in. Now it’s three gallons a week. Love ALL the food items they carry, and the awesome folks who work there. They seem more like friends than store employees.

This is a nice little, fairly complete, market. Has quite a nice selection of gluten-free products.

Had a few sandwiches made up for us at the deli counter. If you don’t see the kind of sandwich you want on board, they will make it for you, offering lots of suggestions. Wow, nice little grocery! We stopped by the chain market at the other side of town last night & were disappointed by the way the veggies looked. This place, even veggies look happy. I’m glad I went in search of deli sandwiches, because this is a great grocery store!!!

This was the first place we stopped at after checking into the motel. They had wines, cheeses, wonderful fruits, and other things you expect in a market. Clean, and friendly clerks. In fact, they were very helpful and suggested places we should check out like the nearby town of Murphys for great wine tasting rooms … and we did go there. I love the frog statue in front of the store. I didn’t understand that it represented what the town was known for. Later on, we found out that Mark Twain wrote his first well known short story about the Leaping Frog contest here. So they have had the Leaping Frog contest every year. We missed the event by a week.

This store was very friendly. My husband and I picked up our grocery here for our stay at one of the near resorts. While we were their we decided to ordered two sandwiches, boy were they very good.

Great little store. Lots of variety. I moved to town recently and this is where I get my Soymilk, Almond Butter, fresh veggies, sandwich meat, whole grain bread, etc. They also do a great in-house bbq so if you want a snack or a meal, come get some hot ribs, chicken, etc almost any time. They even have sushi, ready to go. Some things cost more than a bigger box store, some items cost less. None of the prices are unfair. I keep coming back for one major reason — I’ve never had to wait more than 5 minutes to check out. Get this — they open an extra register when there are people in line, genius! lol. Too bad for other stores, it must be hard to figure out. Like a mix between Whole Foods and Savemart. Well played!

Angels Food Market is an amazing little store that offers high quality food not available at your average Safeway. Just don’t bother ordering a sandwich at the deli. On two separate occasions the woman behind the deli counter(same woman both times, don’t know her name) was rude to the degree that I am writing my first Unilocal review to warn people. Her tone of voice, posture, and overall demeanor were that she did not want to be there, and she managed to make me feel like a jerk for ordering two sandwiches… at lunch time. The first time I gave her a pass, figuring she was having a particularly bad day. Now it has happened again a couple weeks later, and I’m sincere when I say I won’t be going back. Anyone looking for a good sandwich check out the Pickle Barrel. He is a great guy and happy for the business.

Our demographics won’t support a Trader Joe’s or Whole Foods so Angels Food Market stepped up to the plate! Personal service with a fabulous meat department, olive bar, cheese department, wonderful wine choices and a deli that you can fax an order into. Nothing better than a small town market with the ability to compete with the big boys.

If it wasn’t for Unilocal,I would most likely not have found this grocery store. I liked that it’s smaller than the local Save Mart, but they still carry an excellent variety of groceries. Their deli section is quite nice, as well as their meat section. The staff was pleasant and helpful, and the store is clean. Unlike Save Mart, I can buy just ONE steak, if that’s what I desire. The sandwiches are really good. This is where I plan to shop for the remainder of our vacation. When we return, once a year, I know where to buy what we need for our condo/timeshare. Great place!

This has to be my favorite market in the area. The sandwich bar is delicious(I love the Pesto Pollo, myself), the meat counter offers excellent cuts, especially of steak, the wine aisle is full of local and imported finds, there is a fantastic selection of cheeses, and the market itself is a great purveyor of nifty local goods. Try a Calaveras County Olive Oil, or pick up a locally made soap. Even the in-store sushi is delish. They do their best to fill special request orders promptly, and the staff is always friendly and obliging. Every day staples tend to be a wee bit pricey, so buy the toilet paper and cornflakes down the road at Save Mart, and head here for all the organic Greek yogurt, infused vinegars, and local produce you could want.

Wow. Delicious. We went here to pick up some sandwiches since we had some coupons. I didn’t expect much, but man was I surprised. We ordered the pulled pork and a pastrami reuben on dark rye. Both sandwiches were awesome. It was probably one of the best reuben’s I’ve ever had. The pastrami was steamed not grilled(I prefer grilled, but it was still very good). The sauerkraut wasn’t too sour, which is usually a problem. It had a russian dressing, but the dark rye was a nice touch instead of light rye. For a non-bbq restaurant their pulled pork was pretty good as well. It was served on a french roll. The pork was very tender and moist with a tangy bbq sauce. Not smoked but very tender. I would DEFINITELY recommend this market for sandwiches if you’re in the area. It is WAY out in the middle of nowhere.
