Very good, high quality food. Portion sizes are out of control! You won’t leave hungry from here! Owners are very friendly and extremely professional. Easily some of the best BBQ in New Mexico.

I’m from Texas and this Bar-​BQ is some of the best I’ve had. Good smoke flavor and very tender brisket. The potato salad was very good. Homemade desserts. The place was clean and the staff was very friendly. They checked on us often to see if there was anything else they good do for us.

This was a great place. We went for lunch today. The owners are amazing and the food was great. I wasn’t keen on the woman who snubbed me at the door for my husband opening it for us (yes it was cold) but she could have sat elsewhere.
Loved the food. Loved the people. You got to give this place a try!

Great BBQ highly recommend if you’re in Angel Fire. Very nice place and easy to find. We look forward to it every time we come.

We ate here with our family while on Christmas vaca! The BBQ has a great smoked flavor like Texas style BBQ. Great portions of ribs, chopped and sliced sandwiches. Priced well on the combos. The BBQ sauce has a wonderful flavor! Excellent and huge baked potatoes with all the fixings! The staff is very friendly! They were attentive and friendly. We went back for seconds! Thanks for the great food and service.

Being bbq fans, my boyfriends family, himself, and myself all stopped in. Absolutely fantastic. Best burrito/​bbq I’ve ever had! Such a nice, genuine couple who run this place. Never felt so much hospitality at a restaurant.

As the sign says, you come in as strangers, and leave as friends! We found John and Wendy to be quite friendly and welcoming. The barbeque was Texan authentic, as we learned that John was from there. Also, it nice to hear that they prepared everything fresh, from the potato salad to the brisket. Left full and happy. Recommended if stopping through Angel Fire.

Great food here. The chicken gumbo was clutch. Being from Texas I could not ask for better BBQ!

Were very helpful when we were running late. Brisket was awesome! Sides were good as well. Friendly people and good service. Would go back if we were in the area again.

Some of the best barbecue you can find with a variety of ways to have it (sandwiches, burritos, baked potatoes, fritz pie). The Hails are kind and friendly — make you feel right at home. This is our favorite place to eat in Angel Fire.

Amazing food barbecue, Mexican, American and very friendly, loving environment. Each day has its special so you can have a different lunch or dinner every day of the week… except Sunday. Closed on Sundays. Official day of rest.
Beautiful drive from Taos to this 5star eatery. Go south Hwy 64 (directly across from square). All dishes prepared fresh on site. Reasonably priced.
They not only serve food, they serve «information».

Born and raised in Texas I can vouch that this is legit Texas style BBQ. The brisket is great and the sausage is good– fine textured. It has a family cafeteria style to it and the people running the joint are soooooo friendly. It was so good we had to order seconds.

Amazing BBQ and even more amazing people. The food (ribs and a turkey breast sandwich) was authentic and amazing. Thursday’s are kolache days and today’s was a great cheese and green chile version. The service at this restaurant is so far above what we expected and the owners are fantastic people. Highly recommend this spot if you are in Angel Fire!

This was SUCH a wonderful experience for we out-​of-​towners looking for a low-​keyed dinner.
It’s a really small, order-​at-​the-​counter place, yet they were gracious enough to make a reservation for our party of nine. They were SO helpful and friendly — constantly asking if we needed anything, or if they could get us more drinks, after we had taken our seats.
The BBQ was delicious. We had a lot of meat combo plates among our party and everyone was really happy with their choices. The potato salad was especially delicious, too. Our kids each had a HUGE baked potato for their dinner, and thought they were GREAT. And, the desserts! Everything (but the pecan pie — and only because of the altitude — so we learned from the sweet lady who served us :) is made in-​house. The special the night we were there was banana pudding — and our family would have come to blows with each other if they’d run out before everyone got a serving! The chocolate chips cookies were great, too.
The sign is not lit, so it’s hard to find it from the road. But, find it! The people and the food are completely worth it!

I ate here with my wife and three little kids. I had the Sausage plate with potato salad and beans, my wife had the Brisket plate with baked potato. All of the food was good. I didn’t think anything was great, but all of the staff were amazing. Everyone was extremely friendly. I highly recommend this place. It is good food, but the staff and the owner made this a great experience.

Awesome Texas style barbecue. Awesome food and service. Must get the cowboy up hot sauce. We even ordered more to eat later. We will come again.

As an Austin, TX foodie, I thought Franklin Bar-​be-​que could not be equaled. But the folks at Hail”s Holy Smokes Bar-​be-​que «hail» from Texas and they bring their «smokin’» expertise to Angel Fire. It is the first Brisket that has thrilled my palate like Franklin! Wow! I bought 2 lbs to take on my flight to Tampa to share with my wife. 5 stars!!!
