Nice place but color is ridiculously expensive.

Well, true to Unilocal form, I had written a GREAT review about this salon and it’s magically disappeared. SO let’s try this again… I have to say this is one of the few salons that has actually given me the cut, color, and healthiness my hair has been needing. Frankie is beyond amazing in knowing exactly what to do with my hair and how to handle it. The great thing is, he takes the time to explain how to help me look my best. He’s taught me the art of clip in extensions for a night out, or leaving it stylishly short. and my hair is so healthy after a color and glaze treatment! Robert, the Owner, has always been upbeat, professional, & kind when I’ve come in which is so refreshing of an owner. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the ladies and men that run the desk… professional, upbeat, and complimentary. I would highly recommend this salon if you are wanting to look your best. They also do amazing hair for weddings, so definitely get in for a consultation. Helen, Melissa, and the rest of the guys /​girls are awesome!

Great services and fun atmosphere. Feel like they really are working with you on making me look the best I can. Love the cappuccino and tea selections too! Nice to sit and relax drinking a cappuccino and get my hair done and be pampered at same time! The only thing that can make the already awesome pampering better is a napping station after long day! but really great experience each time I have had my hair colored and cut. Staff is alway friendly and helpful!

It was my first time at this salon. I had a bad foil job a few weeks prior at a different salon, and needed it fixed.
K.C made my hair look FABULOUS! It went from a dull, boring Blond with burgundy streaks (that barely showed up) to an AMAZING eye popping red and blond head of sexy tresses!
The young man who washed my hair face an amazing scalp massage too! Something that is a lost art, I felt truly spoiled!

So let me start this off by saying that I am kind of a men’s haircut snob. I frequent salons looking for a good haircut and have been to most of what Andover has to offer.
Robert Jason is BY FAR the best place around. The folks at the front were very friendly, I was welcomed and felt right at home. They offered a drink and I had a seat for about a minute before I was greeted by the person who washed my hair. She was incredibly friendly and passed me off to my stylist Stefanie.
Stefanie gave me without a doubt the best haircut I have had in ages. She was very thorough, made sure that we agreed on what the final product would look like and then started working. She was super friendly we had a great conversation and at the end, I looked in the mirror to see this absolutely fantastic haircut.
I will absolutely be going back to Robert Jason and highly recommend Stefanie to anyone looking for a great men’s cut.

I have been going to this salon for several years and I don’t know why I waited so long to leave. The haircuts were okay and I tried 4 different hair stylists. The only woman I liked was fired when she turned my hair pink. I wanted red with blonde highlights. Although I was extremely upset and my hair was so bleached and damaged, she was a sweetheart. The owner Robert was leaning over her shoulder the entire time I was there, questioning her every move! I’m not surprised she was tense, I was! His lack of confidence made me nervous. She was fired shortly after this appointment and I haven’t been back to the salon or back to her. Very uncomfortable environment.

Love this place. Literally took me from «drab to glam» in the matter of an hour and fifteen minutes. I first went here with a mothers group outing and felt so pampered and spoiled. I booked the next day to have my hair done by Frankie and my makeup done by Theresa for an upcoming wedding. They are both extraordinarily talented and will have my business in years to come! Thank you for giving me the boost I needed.

I went in for a color that was supposed to be a «warm golden brown,» light to medium in color. I came out with BLACK hair, and my children cried when they saw me.

I’m surprised by all of the positive posts for Robert Jason Salon. I went there several times within the first year it opened, but haven’t been back. I tried it because it was local and reminded me of my old salon in Acton — which I learned was because the same designer fashioned both interiors. While I liked the cuts that Robert (called «Bobby» back then) gave me, I was dissatisfied with one of his color treatments — moreover, his response to it.
I had cautioned Robert that my hair had not responded well to color in the past. He assured me that his products were of the highest quality, that he did not share my concern, and that my «mousey brown hair,» as he called it, needed a boost. I agreed to proceed with his recommendation and let go of my concern.
While the treatment resulted in a fabulous hue, it left my hair dry and brittle. When I went back a couple weeks later to show Robert what I was dealing with and ask what I could do to resolve it, he looked me straight in the eyes and said, «A baseball cap would work!» He chuckled aloud, as did the minions surrounding him. I, on the other hand, did not.
What upset me most was not the state of my hair, but Robert’s cavalier and thoughtless response. It showed me that while he may have the talent to give a good cut, he doesn’t have the maturity to deserve my business.

My favorite hair dresser left and I wouldn’t go back either — the owner is not nice and has a major attitude!

I have NEVER had a hair cut this good. As a former resident of New York I was really concerned about finding a salon in the Merrimack Valley that would be able to really wow me, but this is it! Where to even begin?!
The front desk is very personable and friendly. The whole atmosphere is really calm and cool. This salon is filled with warm down to earth people. They take the time to really get to know you, and you get to know them. I am so happy to have found this place through Unilocal.
As for the price, I was surprised with the price! I budgeted about 100 but was surprised when it only came to 45!
I loved this place so much, I scheduled my next appointment in 2 months from now!

The whole staff is extremely nice & welcoming. They even follow up to make sure that you’re satisfied with your hair. The interior is modern and chic. I had a demi-​glaze with Ashley, who was very friendly and helpful. Although the color that I ended up with was a bit more vibrant than I had imagined, it was a beautiful color and i received many compliments. I also took advantage of a promotional offer, so I got a pretty good deal on what would have been rather expensive.

This place is a wonderful find in the burbs for a hip hair salon. It’s fun to go there, they’ll make you espresso while you get your haircut, and they do a great job too! It is pricey but not prohibitively so. Robert gives a mean cut and color, and I love the short cool ‘do he gives me.

Robert Jason Salon has a lovely mileu; comfortable surroundings, friendly staff, and a sense of fun create an enjoyable experience. More fantastic than the Salon, however, is Matt. Matthew King is a talented young stylist that I met several years ago, and now have followed from one salon to another. Matt’s personal touch and skill set him apart from the rest. His versatility is evident, as he has taken me from platinum blonde, to red, to auburn, to jet black – in addition to flattering styles of every length, from waist skimming to pixie. I love Matt most because he has a sense of fun and a vision for my hair that translates into easy care yet smashing looks that consistently engender a landslide of compliments. When I see Matt, I feel relaxed knowing that I have no decisions to make – I can sit back, relax, and trust that I will look fabulous in no time.

I love this salon. I think I’ve tried every salon in Andover and surrounding over the years and never found the right fit until Robert Jason. The place is immaculate, design is funky modern and the vibe is great. You can tell that the people who work there like working there and like eachother. They’re always collaborating on color options and the like. The front desk service is personable and professional. And last but not least, they do an amazing job with cut and color. I go to Melissa but I have friends who’ve gone to Robert and Leah, and I’ve seen the work of Stef & others — really all quite good.
