Let me start by saying that I love to write good reviews whenever possible… in this case it is not possible. This was by far the WORST hotel experience I have ever had. I don’t even know where to start. We were supposed to stay for three nights, and I can’t even believe we stayed for one night — but it was late and we were tired, so we opted to sleep and then hit the road early. Neither of us slept well. Big mistake to stay at all. I should have been tipped off by: * cigarette butts on the walkway and trash left overflowing * people in front of us asking to change rooms because the room they had been given had not been cleaned * person at the front desk told us to make sure to flag down the housekeeping to get new towels each day But the girl(Kimberly?) at the front desk was actually very nice and was clearly trying to do a good job given the situation she knew she was in — she was the only good thing about this hotel btw. So we made the mistake of checking in… and walked up to the second floor to find: * dirty walkway and exterior * non-smoking room that had a bad smoke odor * moldy window frames /stained curtains * no microwave or in-room refrigerator * TV that had a damaged screen(lines running through picture) * stains on the bed spreads * dead bugs on the desk * A/C that barely worked * bathroom door that couldn’t be shut unless the toilet seat was lifted(seriously) * dirty shower stall complete with used soap with someones body hair(yes, THAT body hair!) on it * trash cans with no bags, and dried food(or whatever it was) on the bottom We got up early and didn’t trust that the free breakfast would be safe — so headed to a local establishment for food. We could not get out of there quick enough — waiting to check in elsewhere before taking a shower. I am not kidding about any of this. Please do yourself a favor and choose ANY other option except the Quality Inn Anderson. It is part of the«Choice» Hotel franchise, so is independently owned and operated — and this owner clearly does not care at all about Quality. I feel badly writing such a scathing review, but feel compelled to protect others who may consider staying here.

Our room was filthy. We killed numerous bugs(not sure what type) and there was a cockroach in the fridge. There were stains on the sheets, a blood stain on a pillow case, the comforter was ridiculously dirty– like several people’s makeup rubbed off all over it and it was brown with dirt around the edges(and holes in several places) and there were stains on the top cover. The drawers were broken and haphazardly shoved into their spaces. There were hairs in the shower, stains on the shower curtain, the wall paper was peeling and I could see black mold or mildew under it. My son took his shoes off and walked across the floor and his feet were BLACK with dirt. The carpet was nasty. The phone receiver was ripped from its base and there were frayed wires where it came apart. They gave us a different comforter(which we had to go get from them) and a new bungee to use on the phone. The phone still didn’t work. The tables were all dirty and you could tell they hadn’t been wiped clean in quite some time. I felt so dirty staying here. It smelled. Even my «clean» towel had someone else’s hair on it. Nothing smelled fresh. I couldn’t get out of that room fast enough. If it hadn’t been after 1am when we stopped traveling and if I though my son could stand more time in his car seat I would have left immediately. Gross.

My stay at this Quality Inn was so bad that I’m doubtful I will ever stay at another Choice hotel again. First, my reception was anything but welcoming. I was handed my key with a flat tone and no offer to tell me where my room was located, when breakfast was or anything that indicated that she appreciated the fact that I was supporting her paycheck. After asking, I was told what time breakfast started. I also noted on my pre-bill that there was a $ 1.50 charge for the room safe. I told her I didn’t need the safe. She told me, «oh, that won’t be on your bill.» The building was fairly run down, but the worst part was that I hardly got any sleep due to the constant noise all night long. A refrigeration truck was parked outside my room and it woke me every time it turned on. There were also people talking outside all night long. After about 4 hrs. of sleep, I went down to breakfast at the time I was told they open only to find out I was given the wrong time. They didn’t open for 30 more minutes and I had to get to work. Fortunately the woman working there was nice enough to get me a few items. After getting home, I noticed that that $ 1.50 safe charge WAS indeed on my bill. I guess with the lack of sleep and the extreme irritation at this place, I didn’t notice it upon check out. I’ve tried to contact the manager multiple time to discuss my stay, but he refuses to call me back. I just got a generic e-mail, which he sends out to all his complaints saying, I’m sorry, I hope you’ll stay with us again. NOTE that the 5 star rating was 6 years ago. See what people think NOW.

This place was filthy, old and outdated. We requested 2 non-smoking rooms but when we got in they reeked of smoke. After complaining to the front desk they switched us to 2 others rooms. They smelled as well but not quite as bad. The rooms were neat but they were filthy. Dead cockroach in one barroom, mold and mildewy smell in the other. The bedding(white) was stained and the yellowish orange bedspreads had burn holes in them. So much for non-smoking. The rooms were not very safe for children as they had small, free standing refrigerators with small microwaves sitting precariously on top. These appliances were plugged into a power strip that had a lamp and the TV plugged into as well. I attempted to use the hair dryer on the wall but when I grabbed it, it was sticky. Upon closer review it had some brownish residue, possibly mildew, on it. We were pro ally scheduled to stay here 7 days but checked out after one night!!!

I am at this motel right now as I type. I had to write this review due to some Jackass who was either a disgruntled worker or a piss off lover. This person was kicking something outside in which was very loud and then he start talking to his self all angry. Its a wacko in every Hotel or Motel(I guess I just have to deal with it) As far as this location, Well it’s in fair shape but. I did clean this hotel room before I brought in my bags, That toilet had a black mark on it and it came right off with my lysol spray. My husband was like(Baby, you don’t have to clean. blah, blah blah) I don’t care if it was the 4 season hotel or Queen Elizabeth Palace I still have to clean it because they have all kind of seasonal nasty that stay in them all.sorry. Plus, I broke out two times from hotel germs in the past… NEVERAGAIN !!! Yuck. The lamps in the room needs to be really clean because I used my Clorox Disinfecting Wipes and it was yellow by the time I finish… so I stop trying to clean it. So I wrap a paper around the nob so I can turn it on and off without get germs on my hands. Quality inn do have a pool… But, I’m not sure about this pool anymore after what I saw yesterday… Just too many people all at once. Almost like they having a family reunion inside the pool, Too Crowded. Oh, For those Breakfast folks. This hotel is attached to the Waffle House(They stop serving food at a certain time, someone said 9pm-but I“m not sure how true that is) Overall, It’s O. K(Excuse me, Yes I’m a germ phobic neat freak)

This motel is no longer a Ranada Inn. It is now the Quality Inn Of Anderson. This motel is a landmark in Anderson. It has been here over 45 years and was a Holiday Inn for many yeras. They have spent millions of dollars in renovations and really restored the place to its‘ former glory. We love staying here!
