Organic Oasis Restaurant & Juice Bar

This is the best vegan/​vegetarian spot in town. Clean healthy and affordable food with a great wait staff and chefs. I wish this place was better advertised. There is also a cool little shop in the back where you can buy a lot of organic and nutritional products. The space seems really huge, so it could benefit from a little reorganization, but that doesn’t mean its not worth going to. Order the house salad with tahini dressing, you will thank me and heaven!

Organic & hippy is pretty descriptive of this place. I often pop in to get their daily specials & soups. Though from their regular menu, I do enjoy the lamb burger ($ 16) and vegan burger ($ 14). There are some atypical condiments on the table, like a spray salt substitute that I like. Perhaps organic is better for you but I’m a bit indiscriminate about that. What I do like about the offerings here is that most everything is light and won’t weigh me down. So I don’t ever regret eating anything from here.

I’ve come here a few times, but haven’t for a few years because the last time I had yakitori after eating here. And by yakitori I do not mean food by ingestion, but food by outgestion.
My friend likes to get the buffalo burger so she gets that when she comes here, although this time she chose the special which was teriyaki stir fry over brown rice. It looked delicious. They have a great 3B burger: Buffalo, bleu cheese, and bacon (turkey). I like the hula burger, but it’s for people who like tempeh. There are always great choices for sides and you leave feeling happy and healthy.
So, I will leave you with a tip for the tastebuds. DO NOT DRINK THE SMOOTHIES! They are awful. Just trust me on this.

Oh Organic Oasis you always come through for me with your tasty freshly pressed juice, and your veggie reuben! This is a really excellent sandwich! The way you make your own saurkraut, and then toast and grill this thing just makes me feel special! Plus you’re always willing to add a side of your tasty thousand island dressing!
Also this place has beer and wine and is BYOB! Check it out if you haven’t!

Very good! Vegan Options! In Alaska! How awesome is that! So… I ordered a 3 bean Vegan soup and the Vegan High Protein wrap. Both were delicious and very good value for the money. Also had Synergy Kombucha to drink… which should be available at EVERY restaurant as an option. They also make incredible smoothies and have a great vegan pizza! Anyhow, they lose a start because I wish they would EXPAND their vegan options and start to limit the use of dead animal flesh. I was broken-​hearted to see «lamb» on their menu. Honestly… Alaska could use a Vegan Café… a great place for vegan meetups and for people who need to get healthy/​fight disease/​lose weight/​etc. Organic Oasis COULD be a great oasis of health and a shining example of compassion and ethical living. I hope they take that into consideration.

A gf, dairy free, refined sugar free girl’s dream! Amazing lunch! Lemon lentil kale soup, chicken avo sandwich, side of cole slaw and the dark chocolate fudge cake!!! It’s so rare to find options on a menu! I would eat here all day every day if I could.

Diggit. Organic oasis isn’t just for hippies and health nuts. Very pleasantly superseded by the menu diversity. And this place has a great vibe. I totally dig sitting at the counter and making friends. They have live music in the evenings, so you can just sit and chill and have a drink if you want. Or you can have a full course meal. Either way, I’m in. It’s a little spendy, so I’ll be more inclined to grab a drink and a snack rather than a whole meal. Staff is very knowledgeable and helpful if you have questions about juicing. They totally sold me on the whole Wheatgrass for life spiel. I figure since I live around the corner, if I become a regular, I’ll live forever, right?

I’m on vacation and stopped here as I am vegan and they have so many options. Great. But as I sit waiting for my food I’m already furious. I’ve had Type 1 diabetes for 21 years. This restaurant sells erroneous and damaging literature on diabetes. They should be ashamed of theirselves. Their self-​righteous stance on health has led them to make claims that research does not support. If I had known I would have never given this place my business. You can surely bet I will never return.

We came here for lunch on a weekend to try it out. We had the chicken quesadilla and the turkey pepperoni pizza, my husband had the 3 B burger. Everything we had was really good! It tasted like normal and not «healthy» food. I don’t know if the burger and pizza are really healthy, but they are healthier than regular alternatives. The service was alright, they were nice but it’s a very casual place. There was also a guy playing on piano so that was nice! We’ll definitely come back to try some other items!

Alright, let’s talk about this place. It’s weird. But, a good weird. It’s a restaurant/​bar/​small music venue/​tiny health food minimart. What more could you ask for?
Highlights:
Wheat grass shots and drinks. Tasty, you feel like a healthy bad ass for drinking them, but as the staff will thoroughly warn you, if you’re not used to it, it feels like angry poison after a little while. Ease yourself into it, but eventually you’ll be hooked. And who doesn’t love healthy hooks?
A small, but decently well-​rounded beer and wine selection.
A small stage that hosts open mics and shows pretty regularly. I love the size of the venue for the kind of music that you usually see here. It’s not too big that you lose the connection to the artists or overwhelm the newer singer-​songwriters, but not too small that is embarrassing or cramped.
Also, the random grocery coolers have some health foods and products… Just in case you need to load up on your lunch break and can’t make it to the Natural Pantry.
Servers have always been super chill and attentive.
I like it.

I truly enjoy this restaurant! I love the organic, non gmo options and admire their overall mission. The live music is also a lot of fun :)

We have been coming here for years and have always had a good meal. The house salad with yam dressing is amazing. Their nachos, salmon, and kids meals have always been good too. I have tried a few soups that were quite bland, but they were still good. My only complaints have got to be how slow the service can be here and how dimly lit it is at night. The long winters make for a dark restaurant. Some lamps or a little bit more soothing light could make a big difference. We really like the dried snacks and nuts and find the prices to be reasonable. Really thankful that we have this option in Anchorage!

I really enjoy the food here. Especially for a nice light lunch of the avocado salad and a cup of soup. They serve beer and wine, but I usually end up with a pot of tea if I’m not drinking water. Service overall is friendly. I was about to give this place three stars for my last two visits because of the server. And as I was writing this review, I went ahead and moved it to three stars. This person must be new, and is slow as molasses coming out of a cold jar. The first time we were at a table and it took forever just to order. We had to ask someone else to ask her to come over for our order. And we practically had to force her to take the order. She kept telling us what the soups were and just trying to take a drink order. The next time I came in with a friend from work for lunch. I thought we might be able to get around said first problem by sitting at the bar. We got her again! She took soooooo long making some smoothies, that one of the others came in and made multiple smoothies around her. She apparently was also the cashier, because those people got NO service or acknowledgment until something else brought her over. I saw our order sitting over by the chef for a seriously long time. I really wish that someone would have helped her and at least expedited her food. By the time we got our food, everyone people that came in behind us were served and eating. My friend got the lamb wrap special which looked nice and toasted, but I hope it was suppose to be served cold, because it was. She said it was delicious though. We had to ask for boxes right away and the check because our hour long lunch was up. (It only takes 7 minutes for us to drive there.) I don’t even want to say how long it took for us to pay that bill. Please see statement earlier about people waiting for cashier. The up side for this place is the food and other servers.
It’s never really a fast place to go but everyone is generally nice and the food is great. Bathrooms are shared with the yoga studio next door and are kept clean. There is music in the evenings which can be give and take.

I’m only giving 3 stars because of the frequency of bad service I have been gettin for. But of course what can I expect from one of the only organic places in town that has foods that I will ingest. I enjoy their food, it’s delicious. Come here if you’re looking for good overpriced organic food with very slow service, it’s pretty much just Middle Way but with more available seats (Hmm I wonder why…) the juice bar is a great plus but of course — spendy. My most recent visit was a quick lunch visit since we all know Middle Way is the farthest from quick at lunch hour, where I purchased a $ 20 piña colada small smoothie with moon mix and a half an italian avo for later. I waited 35 minutes for the girl to forget my order, mess up my smoothie, and send me home with a burger that I didn’t realize until I opened it to eat for dinner and bam — the farthest thing I could want — a burger. Slow bad service that is overpriced… I’m sorry Organic Oasis you are making it difficult to want to come back.

If you want to pay $ 9 for a smoothie go right ahead and come here. I must add no ice is used I. The process, but for almost $ 10 I can buy an awful lot of fruit. Yeah yeah they have a bunch of organic «hippish «products and some of what looks to be organic and vegetarian choices. As fas as food goes I make a mistake once. I won’t be back for smoothies, I might attempt other choices and go from there.

Met a friend here for lunch to try this place today. We got the table next to the water feature, which was very soothing. The waitress was prompt and attentive and the food did not take too long. I had a cup of Americano, which was delicious. The potato and leek soup was flavorful but could have used a bit more seasoning. I ordered the veggies and angel hair. The pasta was cooked to perfection as were the veggies (broccoli, carrots, celery, and cauliflower.) The parmesan was fresh even if the portion was a bit small. Even though it was Sunday lunch, there was a piano player which was a nice touch. I will definitely return!

I ordered the chicken Caesar wrap. That was good. This place is a little pricy. However, they use organic ingredients, so you pay for what you get.

Sometimes it gets a little crazy busy in here but even then, the staff makes sure they are there to serve you. The food here has always been consistently delicious and well prepared. I love all the vegan options, of course but they go beyond just gluten free and vegan to serve organic meats and dairy of every kind.

If prices were a liiiiiittle lower, I’d give this place five stars. $ 10 for a 24oz smoothie? A bit outrageous, but then… I guess because it’s Alaska, I should expect high prices.
Besides the high price, their smoothies are delicious. My brother and I got a smoothie where you get a «mix-​in» (galaxy, moon, earth). The mix-​ins sounded cool, but boy, are they expensive! A small jar of the mix-​in is around $ 50+ Their smoothies are thick (hate water-​y smoothies) and they give you the extra. You can definitely taste each ingredient (of the smoothie).
Next time I’m back home, I want to try their food.
