DONOTUSERICHARDTOPACKANYTHINGTHATYOUVALUE. We had a large moose planter that was packed with 41lb. bags of coffee and a wooden birdhouse. The box was very long and so heavy I could barely scoot it across the threshold. Neither of these things were isolated from one another and what little bubble wrap that was used was loosely packed in the corners and loosely wrapped around the antlers. The legs which are one long piece of wood were of course, fine. The box it was in was not large enough to pad the 4 sides of the box and the inside was NOT crammed full of bubble wrap, newspaper or peanuts. It was apparently dropped on one corner(not suprised, that is why we hired them to pack it for us) . The moose’s antlers were broken; 2 horns on each side and one entire antler came off. The front and back of the moose’s body was broken split down the middle of each side, and the tail was broken. This planter did not have a chance in hell for making it across town, let alone from AK to Portland, Oregon! I called and spoke to Richard who said the box barely was regulation and it would be substantially more(however he did not say how much) to mail. Why he did not put it in a SEPERATE box to give it more room for padding, I do not know. My partner, TRUSTING that he could pack, was not told that it just could not be done(with the moose, birdhouse and 41lb bags of coffee, without it being damaged.(she did refuse insurance, cuz she is trusting and who wants to deal with the Post office? She thought he knew how to pack, and paid a lot for that service). As I said, the birdhouse and coffee really should of been PACKEDSEPERATELY, which would of solved the size. length and weight issues. However, Richard apparently fancies himself as a professional master packer(over 30 years he told my partner) and blamed his ignorance on the post office. Yes, the Post Office dropped it, that is what happens and why we paid to have it professionally shipped… He did not think there was anythign wrong with basically placing eveything in a box without securing anything and letting 4 lbs of coffee fly around loose within the moose planter unsecured. Oh, and Richard also said, «I cannot believe the moose was broken it was made of solid wood». Really? Wood doesnt break, warp or splinter? it was not one piece of solid wood. If I was back in Alaska, I’d have sued him in small claims court. BTW I have packed all my belongings 4 times moving back and forth to AK, as well as packing a 4 ft tall. Alaska Cashe in a box that was adapted using two boxes, and sent through Alaska Airlines baggage and have NEVEREVER had anything break that I have packed. And I had movers places 2 boxes that were marked BOOKS on the outside, placed on top of a mirror without breaking(cuz I insulated it between 2 pcs of thick syroform); I think I know a shit job when I see one. Richard, to pack fragil items, 1) put in a seperate box 2) make certain it is entirely IMMOBILIZED by putting in peanuts, newspaper and bubble wrap in a box large enough to pad it and ENGULF it in packing materials(cuz the box is gonna be dropped), that’s why you pack it. 3) wrap up tight and write«THISSIDEUP» just in case someone really looks at it 4) if it is too costly, to fragile or whatever, just refuse to do it!

I have been using them for years for both a mail box and mail forewording. They are always friendly on the phone. They have reliably receiving and forwarded my mail for almost seven years. Zero problems. I’d happily recommend them to a friend!
