Great find in an Anchorage strip mall! Antonio serves up tasty Greek food – and plenty of it. We had the appetizer platter and a spanikopita dinner, which was more than enough for three. The galaktoboureko dessert was the perfect finish to the meal. Service was excellent(though we were the only ones there). Highly recommend!

Whenever I get a chance I make it a point to stop by and get the lemon chicken. Love it. The Greek coffee is always appreciated. And of course the desserts r always delish. Even when I mix it up a little am never disappointed. Excellent place.

Why is this place not packed all the time?! My wife and I loved everything. I wasn’t disappointed by one item on my plate. I hate custard– or at least I thought I did until I tried the desert here. My only regret is that the portions were too big to finish in one sitting. We will definitely be back and will bring friends.

I really enjoyed it. Nice staff. Good food. Very quiet. Nice for a a little date. A place where you could enjoy your food and a convo. And after the main course a simple yet yummy desert with coffee. I enjoyed it. No complaints.

So after reading all the rave reviews I had to give it a try. I was not disappointed. I ordered the gyro which came with roasted potatoes and a mini greek salad, spanacopita and baklava. The order was here in less than 15 minutes, even being around the corner I didnt expect it that fast. The delivery driver was courteous and friendly. Just be aware that the minimum order for delivery is $ 20 because it doesnt say on the menu but delivery is free and fast. Everything was excellent! I will definitely order from them again when I have a hankering for some excellent Greek food.

I will echo the glowing reviews of this place. I came here for lunch and had the veggie pita which also came with salad, potatoes, and greek custard. I was impressed with the huge portions, the big chunks of feta in the salad, the tasty potatoes, and the really yummy dessert. The customer service was great and it was a really comfortable place to eat lunch. The main part of the lunch was what knocks this place down to 4 stars. The tzatsiki(while plentiful) was not all that flavorful, and the pita seemed a bit light on the hummus. Would recommend this place to anyone and will definitely be back to try some of the other options.

Ohhhh yeah! This is what greek food tastes like! Came here on a whim on a day off in Anchorage. I had lemon chicken which was moist and succulent. Husband had orzo with lamb. Holy wow such good food!!! Spanokopita(sp?) Was awesome and the free dessert at the end had my husband proclaiming this was his new favorite desert. Thank you Antonio for making amazing food!

This is a 5 star review, with some caveats. What was good here was AMAZING, and that’s why the 5 stars. I just got back from Greece recently(appeal to authority!) and have missed good Greek food. Was disappointed there was no slouvaki & not even a gyro spit(but the owner explained that it doesn’t work to serve it that way in Alaska with the limited demand, which I understand.) We ordered the spanakopita to start, which was awesome. Got moussaka, Orzo & a veggie pita as mains(i will not eat pre-packaged gyro meat for anything, but we wanted to try the pita). The moussaka was baller. Just, delicious. The orzo was just ok, but we appreciated the potatoes and salad being included. Now, here’s the bad part, y’all: the pita on the veggie pita was stale. I think this is just a result of not enough diners to get the pitas out the door fast enough, so please don’t let this deter you. Finally for desert the lovely owner gave us free Galaktobureko, which was TRULYGLORIOUS. Maybe my favorite thing I’ve ever eaten. So good I spent the next five minutes thinking furiously about trying to figure out how to order more without looking extremely gluttonous. I bowed to internal peer pressure this time but am probably going to come back and try to buy out all of it soon. Olive oil on the tables with the bread would be nice, and the Greek salad felt a little phoned in, but these are QUIBBLES compared to what this place did right. So: order the spanakopita, moussaka, and Galaktobureko bc each of these items is better than you can get in many places in actual Greece, and given that we are in Alaska, this is a small miracle.

What a find! Tucked away in the L shaped strip mall behind City Diner off Minnesota Drive is a wonderful restaurant that provides a deeply satisfying culinary experience. We stopped by for lunch on Monday. The owner, Antonio, met and welcomed us. We started with the hummus and pita — my mouth still waters remembering it. Pita was warm and fresh and the hummus was divine. I had the gyro. It said it came with roasted potatoes and a salad and frankly, I was not expecting much from the two sides. Boy — was I wrong! The potatoes were delicately roasted and lightly seasoned so they were delicious. The salad was crisp and fresh and the dressing was such a compliment to the greens and the rest of the meal. And the gyro was done to perfection. My dining partner had the lahanodolmades — cabbage rolls stuffed with rice and ground beef. Usually we talk during lunch but after the first bite, he didn’t utter a word until after I heard his fork scraping an empty plate. We each tried the galaktoboureko — a creamy custard between phyllo crusts. I’m not even going to try and describe this — get one and try it for yourself. Then write a review. It’s that good!

Stopped by on vacation and found the service and food excellent! Unpretentious setting loaded with baked goods for sale. I believe the Greek owner/chef waited on us! Feel the love!

Do you know how hard it is to find good, authentic Melomakarona? So hard. Thankfully Antonio is here to save the day and my cravings.

My only complaint about Antonio’s is that I didn’t come here sooner! Wow! I went for dinner, but at an odd time in between lunch and dinner. It was just me and the chef. He put on some Greek music and began to sing and cook, it was awesome. My food was some of the best Greek I’ve ever had. I got the lamb, it came with salad and potatoes and dessert(greek custard). Portions were generous as well as delicious. Everything was fresh and made from scratch, and it showed. I will definitely be back!

This place was great. Small feel, the owner Antonio was so kind. He spoke with us for awhile about his cooking as well as Alaska(just moved here yesterday). The chicken was tender and tasty and the potatoes were cooked and seasoned just right. I’ve eaten lots of Greek food and his Greek custard desert was legit. I highly reccomend this place. Thanks Antonio. We woo see you again soon!

AMAZINGFOOD! I am a vegetarian and it’s hard to find even one good vegetarian option that isn’t a salad at most restaurants. The vegetarian pita was delicious with a flavorful hummus and great tzatziki. And the pita… IT’S SOFLUFFY!(I could die) As others have said Antonio was the best, he was nice and even threw in a free galaktoboureko… And changed my life forever! I may not be able to say it but galaktoboureko is my new favorite. Period. End. Of. Statement. In summation, delicious, fast vegetarian friendly food!

I love this place! The owner, Antonio is so nice and his waitress is just as amazing. I noticed that another person was upset over the gyro but honestly, the moussaka was delish. The only complaint I have had was this one time I got the Spankopita and it was a little too salty for me but that is like 1/? many times. Go here and soak up the goodness of Antonio’s cooking.

I’m pretty sure I want to marry Antonio so I can become his fat, happy wife. I arrived at 11:00 this morning just as he was opening. Since it was early, he was running the whole show. He was my host, server, cook, entertainment and companion. I have to say, Antonio’s Café EPITOMIZES what I think constitues a perfect dining experience. His approach is unabashedly european… where the focus lay on hospitality and quality, rather than huge portions of mediocre food and impersonal service. I felt as though I had been transported back to Europe to a lovely hole-in-the-wall mom n’ pop place that I came to love when I lived abroad. I am absolutely in love. Antonio’s only has 4 tables. He could fit more, but he doesn’t. He takes pride in delivering really good, homestyle Greek food in an intimate setting. You can order take out, of course, but you’d be missing out on the experience of interacting with this charming man. As I ate my delicious meal of pastisio, greek salad, dolmades and potatoes, I learned more about him and his life that I know about some of my coworkers that I’ve worked with for years. If you’re lucky, maybe you’ll hear him singing in the kitchen(he used to be a professional singer.) Antonio’s food isn’t for gourmands. Although his food is really excellent, there’s more going on here than just food. It’s about the EXPERIENCE. And if he likes you and you take the time to interact with him, don’t be surprised if he forces some freebies on you. He knows you’ll be back because you won’t forget how heartwarming your meal was. Food for the stomach and the soul. If you’re not orginally from Anchorage and you’re looking to make connections and have a great meal, eat at Antonio’s; its the kind of place that makes you feel like you’re HOME.
