The place was fairly empty about an hour before closing. My wife and I were in the mood for a quick Chinese take out meal. We surely did not want to settle for the dried out food that’s been sitting out all day, so we ordered freshly made chow mein and fried rice to go. Unfortunately both dishes were bland and greasy. The place was clean but the food is nothing i would go back for.

They mixed up my order with someone else’s and gave me a one item combo when I ordered a two item combo. I’m disappointed this happened.

Very friendly service, unlike other places they dont rush you and actually treat you with respect. Probably the best Chinese restaurant in Anaheim. Food is ok but the best is the bbq pork. I would definitely buy a party platter of that. Would definitely go back!

As much as I love my Chinese food, I love to come here. Their portions are so big and it makes me so full with a lot of leftovers. I love coming here as the pricing is pretty good and $ 1 for 10 wontons! Thats amazing. I’m giving it 4 stars because I didn’t really like the wontons. It was just the deep fried outside, there was no cream cheese at all. Thats the only reason why I’m giving it 4 stars, other than that, I could recommend :)

I moved from Orange to Anaheim in 2012 and being out of my local area for chinese i started searching little random places. i started grocery shopping with my family at the stater bros in the parking lot and seen the panda bowl sign. so my mom and i decided to give this place a try. it was enjoyable. especially the lunch special very worth the price. and as time went on i kept coming back. as other reviewers mentioned the food fresh ofcourse is fantastic. my usual is the 2 item. chow mein, orange chicken and teriyaki chicken. or occaisonally brocolli beef. i have never gotten sick or anything and i eat here about 4x a month. and one day i was heading over there on my lunch break and i happend to be friendly and ask my co worker if she wanted something from panda bowl and she said the one by stater bros and i said yes why? and she said no way you go there??? my husband is one of the chefs! whooo total coincedince. but lastly panda bowl is worth it. i live right around the corner ill choose this over panda express any day. the customer service is great and their honest heart warming people. all these other reviewers need to lay off. cuz this place is great!

I don’t like it at all. Maybe because I’m so used to Panda Express?

Decent food, and the price is reasonable also. Not too busy at lunch and have a TV that plays news, sometimes too loud. The owner is very courteous and helpful. A good 3.5 stars, just can’t make it to 4 star.

I have to agree with some of the other reviews of this place, Panda Bowl is on the lower end of Chinese food. I was starving on my visit here and when food does not taste good when you are starving, it speaks for itself. I ordered a 2 item combo, with half rice and chow mein. For entrée, I tried the jalapeño chicken and their orange chicken. First off, the chow mein was bland, absolutely no flavor, basically noodles covered with oil and a few sliced veggies. The fried rice was also flavorless. The entrée was ok. The jalapeño chicken was decent but had a huge pool of oil. The orange chicken had way too much breading and had a little piece of meat inside. Maybe, they need a new chef?

Definitely on the lower end of the Chinese fast food spectrum. I’ve gotten accustomed to lack of quality being compensated for with amount of food; Panda Bowl is certainly the exception to this rule. I don’t mean that in a good way. I got a 2 item combo for $ 5.80 and 10 fried wontons for $ 1. The chow mein & fried rice were bland. The orange chicken was not memorable and the breading was a little soggy. The jalapeño chicken, though a nice departure from the typical options, just tasted like soy sauce and jalapenos with chicken — also nothing special. I probably enjoyed the fried wontons the most, and these are just plain fried wonton skins. I think the thing that really lowers this rating are their portions. While not small exactly, I’m used to most Chinese fast food places not holding back on the amount of food they give, and the internal debate that the woman helping me had with whether or not to give me that extra chunk of chicken was odd. I think I’ll just keep driving the extra couple of blocks down to Ho-Toy’s where they don’t have the same misgivings… and the food is pretty decent to boot.

I actually give this restaurant 2.5 stars. My girlfriend and I came here today to try out a different Chinese fast food restaurant. We have our favorites, but want to know if there are better items at different restaurants. Advice: Ask to taste the Orange Chicken before getting it! Our orange chicken was stale, hard and burnt. It was pretty bad. I haven’t been to a restaurant that didn’t know how to make orange chicken(now I can say that I have). Rating: 1 out of 5 The Jalapeño chicken was nothing to scream about. Rating: 2 out of 5 The BBQ pork was sliced thinly and came with sauce(I believe it was sweet and sour sauce). Rating: 2 out of 5 Now to the better items. The chow mein was good, better than some restaurants. Rating: 3 out of 5 The better items are the garlic chicken and pineapple chicken. Both have more flavor and better taste. Rating: 4 out of 5 You can find a better place that serves up larger portions for the same amount that you pay here. I would agree with everyone’s rating of 3 or lower. The orange chicken and small portions ruined this place for me. I will not be coming back.

Standard to low Chinese-American fast food fare. Food is not really fresh, but portions are huge. For some reason, the sweet and sour sauce tasted metallic and iron-y. It made me think of blood and was rather disgusting.

I tried, I really did. I tried really hard to lower my expectations. You see, I’m half chinese(but dont look it at all) & grew up next door to my mainland grandparents. So not only did I get the bestest yummiest chinese food, but also ate at all the really great bakeries & restaurants within a 50 mile radius. I wanted me some ngow ngam wonton mein– but tried to settle for chow mein craving instead. And being the carb slut that I am, I didnt think itd be all that hard to find something in the range of panda express decency, for a mom and pop price. Let me just say, I was better off making the drive in afternoon bumper to bumper traffic for some authentic stuff & I wasnt able to lower my expectations quite enough. I shoulda known better that«chinese» in an area without ranch 99 wouldnt be much to shake a stick at. Im pri-tee sure the owner wouldnt eat this stuff. All that said, the broccoli beef was surprisingly good(As in, it didnt taste like garlic) and the kungpao was… fine, whatev. The chowmein hit my carb craving, but left a pool of oil in the box, and had NO flavor, and am quite certain is setting up camp in my intestines right about now. I would only return for the broccoli beef. but fry my own noodles from now on =(maybe the fried rice is better. PS This place is clean and they’re nice staff =)!(1 more star!)

I like a place where I do not get asked, «would you like some orange chicken.» I do not like the idea of not being able to pay by atm and not seeing a bathroom, but no biggie, there is a Stater Bros next door. They have atm machine but atm machines have fees. There is a Korean fast food bbq next door too. Would I rather eat Korean or Chinese, if its food we are speaking of, idk. I have eaten here many times, today I had chicken teriyaki with fried rice. For fast food Chinese fried rice, they get a 8 of 10, the teriyaki was great, I had it without the sauce, it has more than enough flavor. In the past I enjoyed thier bbq pork, veggies, noodles and more. I have not tried thier orange chicken. On State college near the 91& La Palma, in a big lot, parking and getting here is no biggie. The have clean tables, a nice fountain area to fill your cup and a big screen tv. The shape of the table area is very rectangular but comfortable and the place is cool and well shaded from the sun. I was served by the tall asian guy, he is always very nice. I do plan to come back in the future as it is convenient and rather good Chinese fast food.
