L & P Automotive Paint And Supply

I went here a few weeks ago to get paint and supplies to paint an old, but good, bike (bicycle) frame that I am refurbishing. I used to paint large equipment back in the mid-​late 80’s, yeah I’m old, so I know how to paint well enough to avoid runs, and orange peel, etc. However paint has changed so much since then though with base coat/​clear coat. Getting any help/​advice from them was like pulling teeth. I was hoping for someone that would kind of lead me along. But I kept asking questions until I finally came up with a paint color and paint. But to be honest, it felt like he was trying to talk me into thinking that I wouldn’t be able to to make it work. I didn’t pay any attention, and got what I wanted including the 2 part 2k clear coat which really worked out well, but be sure to use a proper face mask, as I learned on my own, with NO mention of the danger at all from the desk help here, these 2 part paints have very nasty fumes that require a quality respirator to avoid ingesting the fumes which have things like cyanide in it. Anyway they seem to be well stocked, and I did end up getting a great color that looks great on my now new bike!

Very helpful and the store seemed well stocked. They had what I needed and held it for me while I drove over.

What’s with the attitude? They are next to my shop so I occasionally use them but reluctantly. You are greeted with nothing but attitude from the moment you walk in. I’ll drive 30 miles to avoid going there. If you as a question you get a snap yes or no with no offer for help. Not sure how they stay in business.
