It’s a rock place what else can you expect but Rock it’s a little small and they don’t have a lot of selection and cash only but if you’re in town having one of those days it’s a good spot to go

First experienced the Hut back in the 80’s. Typical cocktail lounge that opened early morning and had its host of old regulars. Not for everyone, but I liked it. Fast forward to I think the later 90’s and it was called Linda’s Doll Hut. I crammed in with standing room only and heard James Harman and maybe an Alvin blow the place away. Music doesn’t get more up close and personal! Great show. At this point I limit my Punk appreciation to what’s left of Iggy Pop and vintage Sex Pistols via vinyl or CD. Keep on truckin’ Hut … I hope the joint still is going full on with great artists that you just don’t get to see/hear in such a small venue.

Upon the 1st time of visiting this venue, I read a bunch of reviews here, good & bad. I know experiences would always vary depending on event, atmosphere, time, & day. One of my friends from work was performing there for a benefit towards people with autism so I was going for my friend and for a good cause. The first time I arrived, I was thinking wow this place is tiny! People who worked there including the owner are all very nice. The place does only take cash, beer & wine are the only thing available there, and no liquor. I remember in the previous review somebody mentioned about dolls that were hung all over the place, but the whole place is decorated with tons of stickers and photos, so probably changed when it was reopened after a year of closure? The toilet didn’t flush in one of the restrooms, but they had it fixed as soon as possible, they also do have a few old school arcade games in the back. The sound is definitely loud because I walked out deaf lol, but even though the place is aged and well kept, I respect it for its historical location. Once the music starts, I immediately started becoming comfortable like as if I am home. The place didn’t become packed as it would certain nights, so I didn’t have to worry about the lack of space or movement. I thought 91 people were attending the event, but it looked like only 15 – 25 people showed up which is cool. I wouldn’t mind coming back here again for future shows.

We came in here on tour from Seattle. It was super easy to book a show here. The staff and crowd treated us great! Only reason I’m not giving it a perfect rating, no drink tickets. not even for a touring band? However, we still had a great time and loved the people there.

Absolutely horrible place! My boyfriend’s band did a gig there the other night, there was an older long white haired dude talking shyt about all the bands and how they sucked so I told him maybe it’s just his sucky taste in music and walked away. That’s when he decided to walk up to my friend and I and grabbed my waist and shoved me stating he worked from universal. I told him to get his hands off of me and I don’t care where he worked. My friend was outside and the same guy asked him„ did you control your cunt yet?” Smh. Anyways I went outside and complained to the guy in charge, told him what happened, then he says, «oh it’s just Rodney, he’s not inside anymore.» Pretty much saying it was okay that the rude ass guy did what he was clear he and«Rodney ‚» we’re good buddies. Wow. Great job whoever was in charge Saturday night!!! 1−23−16 never coming here again. I urge any bands to rethink your venue when thinking about doing gigs here!!!

Was in So Cal for the Star Wars Celebration and thought I’d check out some of the local Punk Bars… I happened to find this on the list of «Go To“Joints… My Girl and I walked in around 7ish just to check the vibes… 0 people were in there. Except 1 Bartender. No biggie… We took a small look around, saw some rad old arcade games, cool small stage, and a decent sized back patio! Since we’re were there, we sat up at the Bar to order some drinks… The Bartender stood there on her phone for literally 25mins… NOT looking up once! It was so long that it felt awkward to even order. Completely ruined the whole first impression on the place! We finally got our drinks, sucked them down and bounced. I really wished I could’ve had a better experience due to the whole cool punk venue vibe, but customer service is key! Especially when it’s only 2 people! Ive been to Punk and Metal Bars all over the Bay Area. Even though they can be run down, smell, have terrible bathrooms, and sometimes people. Customers are what will keep the business going. I’m sure one day I’ll stop in and have a better time, and when I do, I’ll change my review. As it stands, the experience sucked balls… 1 star for arcade games, 1 star for the all around Looks of the place.

I went here with a friend who knew someone who was performing. I was up to check the band and this place out only as entrance was free the night I went if you brought a can of food. I don’t know if I would pay for cover, although the bands were decently good so if you like live music it might be worth it. Drinks were cheap and it’s cash only so be prepared for that. I liked the vibe but the neighborhood isn’t the greatest and parking is very limited, which is why I’m only giving this place 3 stars.

Okay so I must admit I came here to see my cousins band the Katella’s and they are always great. The location is small and they charge to get in. There is tons of street parking but it is right off of the freeway in an industrial part of the city so lighting is very dim so that might not be comforting for most people. So cool little local venue to watch up and coming bands and drinks are cool here but nothing on tap.

Love this place. First off they are biker friendly unlike the slide bar in Fullerton. They have great shows and a Galaga machine. Great little dive to hang at. Keep up the good job guys. Thanks

The Doll Hut is one of my favorite venues in Southern California, something about this place, its historical energy draws you in, all the punk bands from yesterday and all of todays maniacs that make this place what its known for; LIVEMUSIC! you come here to hear it fast and loud, you drink beer here, good beer!!! The owner is one of the coolest mofos ive ever met, real deal and the staff are just awesome people, ive become friends with most of them over the years, Metal Mondays are my personal favorite but honestly anyday is a good day to visit, see you at the Hut!

This is mostly a music venue. I couldn’t imagine anybody coming here for drinking on a non-music night. The bar is cash only with a very small beer selection. It has a rock and roll feel with paintings of pinups and band stickers everywhere. The sound is decent. The location is gross.

Hole in the wall. Nothing fancy, but cool place to hang out and see what the heck is going on in the neighborhood. Really small place and old. Cash only. Place has been there forever. They got a few video games and a small bar. Pretty much anyone hangs out there and bands come to play on there tiny stage. Love the old neon sign outside. Rumor has it the building has been deemed a historic place. Love how both young and not so young can come together and hangout.

If a dingy venturesome bar/venue is your definition of fun, then this is the place to be! This well known Anaheim spot is extremely crampted but wins guest over with cheap beer and live stage performances usually of the punk and rockabilly genre. As grudgy and rundown as this landmark is, they still know how to pack a full house with pioneer punk rockers, local drunks, wild kids, and supporters of the inexperienced to outrageously talented live bands. The true charm of this place would be the history surrounding the walls inside. Memorabilia of past bands decorate the interior with their stickers of their creative names and logos. Paintings of the Doll Hut and the famous Nekromantix also are hung up on the walls to add some notable moments to their story. I only wish this place had more floor room for the audience to have a spot to watch the show and a seperate space for pitting. Instead everyone has to deal with being pushed up against one another because to see the show, you’re basically forced to be in the pit. Being up close and personal with a band is the right way to experience a great show but to be all up close and personal with a crowd of strangers shoving you. doesn’t really make me a fan of The«Hut.» Still, I give props to any place that has a crazy history like The Doll Hut because it’s truly something to be proud of.

Wow! The Doll Hut is still open? My friends and I came here once or twice back in high school, and back then, they had these dolls and doll heads pinned all over the wall and the bar, hence, the name The Doll Hut. You know, the baby size flesh colored dolls and little ones, some naked, some clothed, most heads cut off, but all had those eyelids that would open and close like twilight zone’s talking tina. Kind of creepy, but kind of cool, too, if you were a rebellious teen. Back then, if you grew up in NOC, there was a certain underbelly of rebellion and that was punk. I once owned a copy of pissing in the gene pool, ha-ha. But I wouldn’t come back here now. The place is tiny, tiny, tiny, size of someone’s living room and it gets hot fast when there’s a lot people and it’s dirty and grungy. The average person may feel claustrophobic here. But the place is a legend… I wonder how many people claimed to know Mike Ness when they get drunk here… probably everybody.

small dive bar right off the freeway. A couple oldschool arcade games and an outside patio area too. They serve tall cans of PBR, a few craft brews,(I remember an IPA being on the menu but I was in a PBR mood) and the standard light domestic beers typically on tap, like Coors, BudLite, PBR. Overall a fun dive bar that usually has some good bands rolling through.

Best live venue in the OC. Refreshingly cold beer, on tap, authentic dive bar feel, friendly peers who have similar tastes in punk, post punk, lo fi and Americana. The original gangster, since the old Cuckoo’s Nest closed down.

The Doll Hut has NOT moved! I spoke with an employee today and was told that the Doll Hut has NOT moved and is still at the same location it’s been at for many years. Confirmation can be made by calling the venue.

It’s quite unfair for me to rate this place, because it is a rock show venue and I stopped in purely to check it out during the set up period before the Sunday night shows. Somewhere in the back of my mind I was hoping there would be tap beer and a cool vibe. Instead there was cooler beer and no vibe– it was empty, almost eerie… The people were very nice, there was a bar tender lady with blond hair and a sound guy with long hair. Disclaimer: I’m super boring and don’t love music or at least loud music shows…

Hell yea OC oldest Punk Rock club is back in action! Re-opened 1−3−14! Cheap beer! Loud Music Fun Times! I got a call from my old pal Russel, who said that the Doll Hut was reopening and was gonna have some cool bands playing and told me I should go. I thought why the fuck, not I wasn’t doing anything anyway and if I got loaded I could walk and stumble home ‘cuz its kinda close, but this was a new chapter id the DH books. I’ve seen a lot of great bands here and a lot of not so great bands here too. Punk, metal, rockabilly, surf, you name it. Many bands cut their teeth here at the Doll Hut and some like Social Distortion and the Offspring sometimes returned after they had made it big to play surprise performances. Many consider the Doll Hut to be the CBGB’s of the west coast. Can’t think of a place more deserving. Besides CBGB’s is still closed I think. The Doll Hut is the Webster’s poster child for hole in the wall dive bar. Its tiny 2 car garage sized interior is held together duct tape and bubblegum. Its gritty and raw this is what an intimate performance is all about. Even the bathrooms at this place are punk. … The Doll Hut is an Anaheim Icon. Built in the 1920’s as a private residence, the Doll Hut became a truck stop café in 1936, a bar in the 1950’s and a music venue when bought by Linda Jemison in the 1989. And when Linda’s Doll Hut closed its doors in the summer of 2001, it was thought to be the end of an era. Luckily a couple who met at Linda’s took over the space and reopened it that fall. It continued to feature live bands, often sold-out crowds and even occasional Sunday barbecues. Cheap covers, great music and cheap ass beer made this a special place. The stories the walls could tell! I’ll be back!
