I love Bar Louie. This place has a great happy hour and fantastic food. Everything we have tried from their AMAZING burgers to the hot wings(en fuego is my favorite) are tremendously good. They have a lot of specials throughout the week so be sure to check their website for a calendar of events. $ 1 burger Tuesdays are great and a nice compliment to counter the taco Tuesdays we are all accustomed to everywhere else. They also have a ladies night as well as half price small plates during happy hour periods. Be sure to ask the bartender or waiter/waitress to validate your parking stub as this will net you an additional free hour of parking. The only thing holding this place back from a 5 is the slowness of the service. Whether they have 2 tables or 30 tables full the service always seems slow and you will spend over an hour in here easily although the food definitely makes up for the wait.

I came in to grab a cocktail while waiting to meet someone. It took about 5 minutes for someone to recognize me at the bar. The bartender took about 10 – 12 minutes to make a simple margarita. When I got it, it was not a margarita. She admitted right away that she used the wrong mix, and remade it right away. The drink itself was fine, once it was fixed. They had lots of TVs at the bar and had the NFL-HD network on. GREAT! No one ever came back to offer me another drink. I eventually had to flag someone down to take my credit card so I could pay my bill. The bar staff looked unorganized. I overheard the staff say to each other«how do I do this» multiple times. TRAINING would help here. I would have doubled my bill if they would have just offered me that second cocktail. Their loss. Guess they didn’t want my money. The bar was not busy, only about 6 other patrons.

Needed to grab some food with a friend before our movie started. It was a warm evening and this place had a large patio.. . so it won. We sat ourselves outside, meandering through all the smokers: / We sat down around 6:50 so was looking forward to getting in one round of happy drinks that everyone has mentioned. We sat and twiddled our thumbs for a bit, but then got up to grab some menus ourselves. On my friend’s way to grab menus someone pulled him aside and said it’d probably be quicker for us to order from the bar. However, as soon as he returned our waitress showed up. I asked if we could still get happy hour and I got the ol’ «It’s past 7pm, our computer won’t allow it.» Meh. They have a good list of drinks so I went with Effen Good martini, cucumber and mint with vodka(at full price). My drink was later delivered warm, I had to be «that girl» adding ice cubes to her martini. As for food, I tried to pick a safe bet with the grilled chicken bacon sandwich. The bread was slathered in butter and very greasy. Chicken was the thinnest slice I had ever seen on this type of sandwich. Even the tots were a let down(overly fried with zero taste). Between the slow service, abundance of smokers and mediocre food.. . I probably wouldn’t recommend this joint.

I took my son into Bar Louie for lunch during our Disneyland trip last week. This was actually my 2nd time in Bar Louie, the first was for a convention in Anaheim. They do one thing well it seems.Burgers. Unfortunately for me I’ve only had a taste of their burgers as I tend to go more for chicken or salads. Neither the chicken voodoo or the salads are impressive. Next time I’m in Anaheim I won’t be returning. There is a sports bar/cocktail bar aspect to this place but it’s severely lacking in any real ambiance or originality. Also, their beer selection is PATHETIC. You have maybe two local brews which you can get anywhere in Anaheim coupled with mass produced beers. There are far better selections in throwing stone distance from this restaurant. At least the server was nice.

Nearly empty at the time of happy hour(4 – 7 pm). I would recommend this bar if you are looking for a more of a quiet environment to enjoy happy hour. $ 3 beers which are all on tap. Half off appetizers. These are the best deals and the only reason to even come to Bar Louie. Loaded tater tots are just okay. I wouldn’t recommend it. You can make something better at home. It’s not«loaded» whatsoever. Spinach and Artichoke dip was bland. So many stale tortilla chips with so little dip. The big disappointment. no silverware let alone no napkins! OK I guess they are pretty much finger foods but I wanted a fork. I was never asked for anything or how i’m doing, i had to flag someone down and it was usually a buss boy. The bartender was slow and obviously couldn’t handle a full bar of probably 12 guests at around 6 pm. On a good note: patio is somewhat nice. Lots of seating and couches, tv’s every which way you look, and smoking is permitted.

Points for being open late,(pretty much the only open-late bar on a weeknight in the easy-walking area). Points for having delicious kamikazes. Points for having Golden Tee and cool chalk signs. Points for in-house DJ on Wednesday night. Biiiiig boo for shitty service.(Three visits on consecutive nights: first night suuuper slow, second night okay, third night sat for 15 minutes with NO attention at all, walked out). Boo for people having piss-fights in the men’s bathroom(according to my husband). VERDICT: If it’s earlier in the day, AVOID. However, if it’s 11pm on a Tuesday and you want a beer, then you have to GO. Don’t use the bathroom, though.

Dear Bar Louie, You suck. I hate you. Why are you the only bar at GardenWalk? Are you a money laundering operation? A front for drug trafficking? I can scream and shout for service and no one cares, so that leads me to believe that you don’t want anyone there. There’s usually no one there. You must have a tunnel to Mexico in the stock room and you’re continually having issues with the drug mules. It’s the only explanation for why it takes over an hour to get an appetizer. I always see your«Now Hiring» posts on Craigslist for new staff. How’s that working out? Bar Louie, must you hate your customers so? You have over 250 bad reviews. Don’t you want to do something about it? And yet, I keep coming back. You’re the only bar and you’re close to the theater. That’s a prime location. When I do get a drink, it’s pretty good. That upsets me because I have a legitimate reason to come back: good, cheap drinks. Then my bill comes and it’s all screwed up for just two items. Did you think I wouldn’t notice those little extra charges? This is why I hate you like a sleazy ex who’s good in bed and leaves crabs in your towels.

I went ONCE during a football game, and it was like a ghost town! The ESPN Zone across the street at Downtown Disney had a line around the BLOCK, and the Tilted Kilt down the road was PACKED, and yet Bar Louie had one bartender and some tumbleweeds. I ordered the nachos and the cheese was this flavorless kind of thin white sauce… so I sent it back and switched my order to artichoke dip. They bartender told me they didn’t have any, and it would take 15 or 20 minutes to make some if I was willing to wait. We were there for the game, so I knew we’d BE there that long, but wow. It wasn’t WORTH the wait. The bartender brought us a ketchup bottle and the lid was COVERED in coagulated, brown sauce, filthy. I posted a picture of it. I can see why it wasn’t busy. Big tv screens don’t make up for lack of quality food(for the price, I expected MUCH better food) and no staff. It’s a pity, it has a great open balcony and you can’t beat the location. OH, and to make matters worse, the parking validation only covers you for a half hour!!! I won’t be going back. We could have watched the game at PF Changs’ bar(they have tvs) and gotten two HOURS of parking validated, and GREATFOOD! Thumbs DOWN.

On a normal night, i don’t know if I would give this establishment as high a rating, but in our circumstances, Bar Louie exceeded my expectations: We decided to barhop in Anaheim while the NAMM convention was in town… bad idea, but the exceptional service we received here(and being able to sit down. we stood the entire time at Ruth’s Chris’ bar area) made all the difference! Hits: * When we arrived, the upbeat seater first warned us that the kitchen was backed up by about an hour… after realizing that didn’t scare us away, she was very eager to let us in on a couple menu secrets. shhh… I’ll never tell * It was a busy night, so our server checked up on us every so often to give us the play-by-play on the status of our Chicken Nachos($ 11). Since I was in good company, ate already, and happily sipping on my Guinness, the wait for our appetizer was bearable. We also got refills on our beers in a timely manner. * The blackened chicken on the nacos were very tender and derish, but a little skimpy on the chunky(!!) guacamole * Order the Pabst! It comes in a glass that looks like the can. uncanny! :) * The layout of the restaurant is very spacious, with lots of room to wander * The bar as the centerpiece of the restaurant interior. On a nice night, patio seating sounds very welcoming, as well. Lessons Learned: * Guinness($ 6.50) is not on tap * Food presentation is not a priority here. The nachos turned out looking like a hot mess… but it didn’t matter because it tasted better than it looked. * At around 8:30PM, the lights dim and 80s meshed with Top-40 music begins blaring. * This place becomes an unofficial Cast Member hangout spot later on into the night, especially on weekends. After my wonderful first experience here, I would love to check out the HH offerings here in the near future.

I came here twice. Once for a birthday and another time just because. It seems like the place to be because it always look like its happening. But I’m not a drinker, I’m an eater and the food here sucks. I tried the pasta, pizza, different appetizer. nope. Fun atmosphere. food= no va

Located one floor below the Cineplex Theatre at the Garden Walk, Bar Louie was a one hit wonder for me. Not to say I wouldn’t ever come back, but it would be more out of convenience of being in the area rather than planning a meetup here. A large group of us infiltrated the bar at 2pm in the afternoon. There was only one bartender and that was more than enough to accommodate our drink orders. Soon enough, 3pm rolled around and another group of 10+ arrived, and shortly after, another group and you guessed it– our lone bartender was swamped. He did a good job at keeping his composure but surely they should have figured to have some more people on call for a Friday afternoon heading into happy hour no? By the time I asked for my bill, it took a good 15 minutes to get that straightened out. In any case, they have a large selection of beers. My friend’s wine tasted funny, and he theorized that it is because he got the last pour from the bottle and it had been sitting out for awhile. Their happy hour is Mon-Fri from 4−7pm. $ 3 beer, $ 4 wine, ½ apps. Pretty good deal. The beer is smaller than the regular sized beers that I had at 2pm. Even then, all the fun for that afternoon didn’t set me back all that much.

Basically, this is less tavern/bar(than the awning outside indicates), and feels more like sports bar, casual and trendy, with cute servers. The«girls», instead of orange shorts and tight t-shirts, have black shorts and low-cut tops(not that there’s anything wrong with that). The food is upscale bar food, and they have excellent happy hour specials, which of course, happened to not be offered on the date/time I was there(late on a Monday night with fellow Unilocalers Adela A. & Joey A.). For example, Tuesday nights(5pm-?) is $ 1 burgers. Dude, sign me up. 1. Beers, about 20+ of them on draft. Cool. I had a Hef. Mmm. 2. After sending back the undercooked boneless wings(what’s worse than raw chicken?), the order came out perfect(best fix!). They have four types(buffalo, bbq, szechwan, and el fuego), but the buffalo ones that I ordered come out dry — no sauce at all, just ‘flavored’. Still, I enjoyed. Usually they have regular wings(on the bone), too, just happened to be out. Hmmm… realized on paying that they were $ 13 — that’s quite expensive for this appetizer. 3. The sliders(4 of ‘em) were fantastic. A toasted potato bun, good meat(thin, but I like that for sliders so they«slide» right on down), a little bacon, a little cheese, and fried onion strings — awesome. 4. The chips with 3 dips(salsa, queso, quac) is a great plate to share. HUGE amount of chips, served on a big platter. The prices are a bit high for what it is, the servers cute, but I wouldn’t go out of my way for Bar Louie. Before/after a movie at UltraLuxe, sure.

I’ve been at Bar Louie only once before my last visit and remembering having a decent time even though the visit was years ago. Because of that, I found myself a bit perplexed by the bad reviews on Unilocal before I came to visit again. Well, there really is no mystery about it for me anymore — Bar Louie is a less than o lackluster experience due to terrible service and a mediocre food experience. On the surface, Bar Louie looks like it has it all: it’s a clean and well staffed sports bar that features a good amount of space, outside patio, a lot of televisions, and some awesome happy hour deals for beer. We came here on a Thursday night and the place was 1⁄5 filled — in this case you would expect service to be speedier but you wouldn’t know it from our original server, who forgot about us and found more interesting things to focus on, like the football game that was playing on TV. Once we were finally helped by someone else, we ordered drinks and entrees and found ourselves waiting a very long time(keep in mind the restaurant still was 1⁄5 full) for some of our items. Once we asked about the drinks 20 minutes after, they had apparently forgotten some of us had ordered drinks to begin with. A more personal experience for me regarding the service included ordering the Turkey Burger only be told 25 minutes later that they were out of turkey(???) and that I had to order something else, which ended up being a decent BLT wedge salad(which I had to wait another 25 minutes for). As a collective group, I don’t think it helped our souring mood that they had mixed up one more order for our group that night. I don’t think it helped that they had forgotten to give us napkins after we asked for them and the music would go intermittdantly from normal to loud a few times. And I also don’t think it helped that we asked for extra jalepenos without being told it was going to charge extra until the bill came. In some restaurants, bad service is usually defined by rude behavior. But at Bar Louie, the service is just really lazy. I wouldn’t discourage anyone from coming to this place for a nice beer or two but there is a consistent theme of bad service in many of these Unilocal reviews of Bar Louie — I would definitely take them into account before you visit.

I had my first experience with Bar Louie when I went to the Taste of Anaheim in 2011. They were serving bruschetta that was the best I ever had. fresh tomatoes on crunchy crostini. some delicious sauce drizzled on top. it just melted in my mouth and I instantly wanted more. Last week I finally made it to Bar Louie and went straight for the bruschetta. It’s enough to share between 2 – 3 people and it was $ 9. But it was NOWHERE near the same quality. It was served in a shockingly huge martini glass, with 6 very large crostini arranged around the outside, and the tomato sitting in the middle on a bed of shredded lettuce. Where was my delicious sauce? And why wasn’t the crostini the same?! I felt gypped. It didn’t taste as good as I remembered and I wouldn’t order it again. Now on to the drinks. I order mojitos all the time(and I love them) so when I saw the black cherry mojito on the drink menu I was sold. When it arrived, I was disappointed once again and it tasted like medicine. There was some kind of strange taste in there that reminded me of black licorice. I told our server I didn’t like it and she immediately took it away, didn’t charge for it, and let me order another drink. The second drink I ordered was the Pom Pech martini(peach pomegranate) and it was delicious. I drank it up. We had 2 different servers throughout the night and there seemed to be a lack of communication between them because the bill came and it had both drinks on it, but that got resolved pretty quickly when we brought it up. So for this experience I say 2 stars. Maybe I just ordered the wrong items but I wasn’t impressed at all. And just a helpful tip: this entire restaurant is a complete dead zone so don’t expect your phone to work in here.

Bar area for drinks and small plates, came in 15 min. before happy hour after a bit of shopping at Nordstrom semi annual sale, ordered a Sierra Nevada to sip on and wait for happy hour. ;p We ordered a few small plates, they are half off during happy hour, New Orleans Chicken Gumbo Hummus, Tabbouleh & Tzatziki, warm pita bread and cucumbers Crispy Calamari, four dusted, crisp fried, cocktail sauce, buffalo style Meatball in tomato sauce and cheese, served with garlic bread Shrimp skewer, spicy with avocado n mango salad Overall the food was fairly delicious, I liked shrimp skewer the most, Hummus wasn’t so good, hubby liked meatball and Gumbo. They have good selections of brews, good martini menu, but they were out of vodka that day, they couldn’t make me what I wanted, one bartender made me a blueberry flavored martini, it was yummy, the bloody mary he made was tasty too. We had a few more beer and 2 black label shots while watching Heat VS Celtics game. It was relaxing and fun. :) I was pretty happy with the service at the bar. Two bartenders were attentive and friendly. Their happy hour is real good, the tab was $ 77 with that many plates and drinks. Good casual place for happy hour and game watching at the bar.

I like this place… in Santa Anita! This place has horrible service! Brought my girlfriend here for her birthday to get some drinks in, but I think in the span of 2 to 3 hours, we only got 1 or 2 drinks in. I understand places that get popping and busy, but the bartenders still get to you if you’re up at the bar. We were sitting and waving our hands and they just keep passing by. We weren’t the only ones, I actually started conversations with other people that were waiting for awhile too. On the side note, we did order some Slider burgers. I have to say they were pretty good. Took forever to order and even longer to receive them, but doesn’t change the fact that they were good. Juicy meat, crispy bacon, melted cheese, good. I felt bad that we had to go through all of this for her birthday. Next time, I’m sticking to the Santa Anita location. Will not be coming here again by choice, sorry.

Wow, I just realized I haven’t reviewed this place. Had my birthday here almost a year ago. It was around 8PM when my friends and I had dinner here, my brother wanted his regular beer but they ran out. I wanted to try one of their specialty cocktails, but when I ordered it, the waiter told me they were out of Vodka or whatever alcohol that’s in the drink. I ended up trying the Diva Martini. I was pretty disappointed that they were out of alcohol. :( The food was good, everyone liked what they ordered. I ended up ordering the Mediterranean Salmon(16), which was okay. Overall, this place was just OK. My experience at the Arcadia location was so much better!

*happy hour review only* Monday through Friday 4pm-7pm $ 3 drafts $ 4 House Wines $ 5 Specialty Martinis Wednesdays — $ 5 Buckets Thursdays from 9pm to Close– $ 3 You Call Its & $ 5 Wings and $ 5 Pizzas came here on a friday before catching a movie and wanted some good libation. grabbed a seat in the bar area and surprisingly the service was pretty prompt. went with the $ 5 martini specials… cuz naturally martinis are strong drinks. my first drink was the Diva, per our server’s recommendation. it was waaaaay too sweet and fruity(maybe he recommended it becuz i was a girl???). i took one sip and asked to have it replace with The Dirty(dirty martini with blue cheese stuffed olives). a much better choice! nommed on some chicken nachos($ 11) and we left pretty satisfied.

Honestly I have GREAT luck at Bar louie and it saddens me that they only have 2.5 stars :( I’ve been here numerous times. Great drink specials and interesting drink mixes. Especially the one with 3 olives bubble gum vodka. As for the service, if you sit at the bar, it kind of takes a second to get them to come over but after you do, its all good. When we sit at tables the service is on point. I usually get this overhyped brunette taking our orders. She’s way to bubbly but its all good, I rather have that, then a lousy crummy waitress. The food is solid. I love getting the Luigi with added provolone. Yummy ass shaved ribeye meat mmmmmmmm. The mac and cheese is very good as well. Foods fresh, the veggies are fresh, the breads fresh. I seriously never had a bad meal here and will keep coming back if I want late night eats and drinks!
