Petite Bistro & Wine

You’ll have trouble finding food that rivals the Petite Wine and Bistro anywhere in Anacortes! We found this place while staying at the adjacent Island’s Inn. It’s easy to look over but don’t. Apps are interesting and combine many different flavors. Entrees are large and exquisite; the Dungeness Crab Mac & Cheese is one of my favorites. Service here is great, and the prices are very modest. The restaurant is small, but the flavors and larger than life. Don’t miss this place if you are staying in Anacortes!

We stopped in for dinner. Fun little place. We had the crab Mac and cheese and a pear salad. Both very tasty. The wine selection was very good and the service friendly and very down home. Very generous wine pours. Felt like we were eating at a friends house.

We heard great things but were extremely disappointed, lame expensive appetizers, charged double on 2 separate bills, lets just say we went to the Brown Lantern after had great food good drinks & a wonderful atmosphere, we won’t be going back here ever…

Great food, great prices, great wine, great service. Will do again!

We came here because we were staying at islands inn and had a voucher. There is a happy hour and we had wine, the hummus with naan (good) and a homemade fruit crumble a la mode. Good food!

Oh wow! I hosted a small meeting at the Petite Wine Bar last night and got some appetizers to start. The hummus was great, but the spanakopitas… best I’ve had! The crust was crisp and flaky (but not explosively so), the filling tasted great and had a perfect texture, and the mouth-​feel after I finished one was exquisite. I also had a glass of red off their happy hour menu– can’t remember which one, but it was a great pick (maybe the last one on the list?). I’ve had several people tell me that their french onion soup is the absolute best but haven’t had a chance to try it myself.

Came here with some girl friends for dessert and a bottle of wine. Everyone was very friendly. The wine choices were fantastic with great representation of WA and OR wines. Although not to many by the glass options. It was great to look out at the pool. We had a GREAT raspberry mousse! I have been craving it ever since we finished it! Would definitely come here again.

There are not very many places that I give 5 stars to, but this is one! My wife and I stayed at the Islands Inn and ate at the newly opened Petite Wine Bar on our first night. The worst thing about this place was that it is closed on Sundays and Mondays!
We were in for the evening and tried most things on the menu. We started with the hummus and the salmon pâté and they were both excellent. The salmon pâté just tipped the scales as the better of the two. Then it was time to try the spicy pork kabobs. Amazing! The chef knows how to turn out a dish or two. Next we tried the Spanakopitas — so light and tasty! The French onion soup, as many have said before, was great — the addition of beef making it extra special. To finish we had the crème brûlée — which was infused in coffee — Fantastic! All in all, dishes to die for. Our accompanying wine? The Roza Ridge Syrah — very well priced at $ 24 a bottle.
The chef came to visit during the meal (as did the owner) and we learnt he had recently come from Anthony’s in Anacortes — their loss!
If there’s one place to go try on your next visit to Anacortes — go to the Petite Wine Bar. Open Tuesdays to Saturdays, situated inside the Islands Inn (see separate review).

Tried this place out while staying at the Islands Inn and was really pleased. The food is great — best french onion soup I’ve had, which I attribute to the melt in your mouth chunks of beef; a really nice addition. The menu is small but seems to be well rounded. Same for the wine list. Very well priced. We had the french onion soup, soup of the day (red pepper) and crab cakes and everything was delicious. Great ambiance and since they have just opened all are eager to please — the chef was out chatting to all of the tables.
