When it comes to fast food Mexican, you can’t beat Del Taco. Open all night, they are there to satisfy late night cravings. The food is fresher than what you get at Taco Bell and is much more flavorful.

The food at this Del Taco is as good as any other fast food Mexican joint in the country(read: not great), but the building itself is really run-down. I felt dirty after eating there. Everything is very cramped. Also, this location does not have a playplace for the kids. Try the newer building across town.

I will have to admit, I love the DEL. It is the only place that you can have a literal feast for a whopping 12 bucks. It isn’t that bad for amercanized mexican food. A solid four stars on this one.

I wouldn’t normally review a fast food chain, but for Del Taco I make an exception. Here’s a big 5 stars to the home of the green burrito, the spicy jack cheese quesedilla, and the chicken soft taco. I think Del Taco is something that you only appreciate as you age and mature. When I was young, I foolishly indulged in cheap food from Taco Bell. But as I grew older, i realized that the true Mecca of $ 5.00 eating is Del Taco. Not least because it is the only fast food that doesn’t make me feel slightly sick and like I need a two hour nap. I keep it simple: the green burrito is the staple, the creamy chicken soft tacos are the perfect compliment, the cheeseburger isn’t bad, believe it or not, and the spicy jack quesadilla is my choice if I feel like splurging. Do they even serve anything but those options? Also, this is one of my favorite locations: consistent quality & speed. Finally, bonus points to all you out there who can remember when this place was called«Naugles.»

OK, I know I’m going to get some ribbing coz I hate it when people review fast food, hey, but this place has got something that’s hard to find in Utah. I haven’t tried anything else there, so I can’t comment beyond my craving for: crispy fish tacos. mmmmmmmm

One of my friends was ready to disown me when he found out that I’ve never been to Del Taco. Sorry, a place that means«of the taco» isn’t going to be my first place to feed a Mexican food craving. But he swears by the chicken soft tacos, so I promised I’d try one. Come Friday night, I’m pet sitting for my boss and was on my way to his house when I started to get really hungry. What’s the first thing I see? A Del Taco. All right, I’ll try it. I ordered a #4 — Two chicken soft tacos, fries, and a coke. I asked the guy there what came on the tacos — lettuce, cheese, and a secret sauce. I asked if there was mayo in the secret sauce — he said yes. Dude, it’s a taco. Why not put sour cream on it instead of a mayo –whip nasty spread? I passed. Not only to I hate mayo, but I’m not going to trust a secret sauce from Of the Taco, especially on my first visit. The guy convinced me to make it a MACHO size, which was far too large for my taste, but I did get a free MACHO cup… sweet. The food itself — surprisingly not bad. I like their cheese more than Taco Bell… it doesn’t taste as rubbery as Taco Bell’s sometimes tends to do. The french fries were decent, though very reminiscent of summers as a kid when my best friend and I would rip out the Ore Ida frozen crinkle fries and cook them up in her fry daddy. Del Taco still isn’t very memorable to me. I’ll probably try it again, though there’s nothing that makes me want to go there more than another crappy fast food Mexican place. But hey, it’s right off the road and quite speedy, so I guess I have to give it a little credit.
