Los Cantaros Taqueria

The food is really good. The service isn’t. Waited for over 10 min before we left because we were never even acknowledged by anybody. There were only two other tables seated at the time.

We would come here all the time with family and always had a pleasant experience until recently they have new staff and must have new cooks. The food we ordered was extremely plain and had no taste at all, the salsa was watered down and when I called the restaurant a young lady answered and I explained to her my concerns and her reply was «oh ok hmm… I’ll let the kitchen know» and hung up. No apology or attempt to make things right. So my family and I will no longer be dining here. I highly recommend los molcajetes in Vallejo the food and service is way better.

I food was disappointing the service was slow. My order was not correct. The salsa was bland along with everything else. I don’t think I will be going back.

Yesterday afternoon my husband and I went in to eat, not our 1^st time there but after the service it is definitely our LAST!
Writing this review kinda makes me sad because this is a Mexican Restaurant that we enjoyed going to often and I would always tell people they should try it…
So yesterday we walk in and mind you its not busy at all! 2 couples inside and 1 couple outside on the patio waiting for food and a family size group paying and getting ready to leave.
Long story short. We sat there for well over 20 minutes and felt like we were being ignored… I could understand if it’s busy. But it wasn’t! The 2 waitress that were serving could have easily brought us our drink. Or maybe some chips and salsa, but instead I could over hear the more petite one talking about her plans for the evening with a guy behind the counter, then watched her sneak out the side door and talk on her cell phone, then came inside and finally swept up a large pile of food from the floor that was right in the middle of the walk way, then started cleaning the dirty table and sweeping the restaurant while we still sat there feeling as if we were invisible. Finally our waitress took our order so we thought maybe things were getting better, who knows it was Sunday and maybe they were real busy before we got there and they were tired giving them the benefit of the doubt. But after ordering we still sat there for a long time with still no drinks or chips!
So we decided to leave! And we will never go back or recommend this place to anyone ever again! I’m not one to write reviews, but I’ve never been treated so rude in my life. Even asked my husband if he thought they treated us that way because of our non Hispanic nationality since all the other (3 tables!!) were being treated fine.

Local to American canyon first time trying this place thanks to my son. He took me out for dinner and I was not disappointed.
I had their world famous cantaros enchiladas and he had a steak burrito.
The food taste fresh and portions are pretty decent, price totally reasonable. Our waiter was so nice, she checked in with a few times :).
Almost forgot to mention very clean location, very spacious, sitting outside.
Definitely give this place a try!

My family and I went to dinner here for my auntie’s birthday. We were a big party, and there was only one guy serving us (mind you it’s a very small restaurant in American Canyon. Also, it replaced Taqueria Rosita 2).
I ordered the Super Fajitas with shrimp and a mango margarita. The mango margarita had a lot more tequila than I anticipated. Sure I go my money’s worth, but I had to constantly stir it and take some lime and salt more than I usually do! It wasn’t until I let the ice dilute the margarita enough that I really enjoyed it (unless I was already used to the alcohol content and was drunk! Hahaha!). The Super Fajitas wasn’t as «super» as I thought it would be. I think the portions were smaller than the average fajita plate, but they probably did that on purpose because I ordered shrimp with it as well. I had to wait a little longer than my other family members who ordered fajitas because I ordered corn tortillas instead of flour tortillas. I think it was worth the wait because the fajitas turned out really great!

Fresh food, tasty and nice staff. I normally get the enchilada plate, but this time I tried the veggie super burrito. Mmmmmmm. I’ve never had a veggie burrito with broccoli, zucchini, mushroom and bell pepper. Sooooo yummy!

I am giving them a 5 five star for excellent service. .this is our 2^nd time coming here. my waiter Richie is totally awsome even when it was short staff and busy… our first waiter before is Miguel is was awsome too. The food is so good and the price for a family of 6 is also reasonable. .so please give this restaurant a chance before judging other reviews. .I would come here for family dinner night. AWSOME. .people!

Breakfast burritos are giant and delicious! Service was excellent. Great atmosphere. I highly recommend this place for a great meal with good friends

Great service, great food. The fajitas were delicious and the beans, yum! Been there for taco Tuesday a few times now too and the fish tacos are awesome! I think this has become a local love of ours.

Fun little place. They have options for the tortilla: flour, spinach or wheat. I had a grilled chicken breast wet super burrito. It was delicious and attractive to look at. I ate it before I tried to take a picture. Sorry about that. We will be back again. Yum!

First, I’d like to express that the fish tacos were delicious! The cream sauce, the pickled cabbage and just the perfectly seasoned fish were a perfect combo of flavor. I’ve tried other fish tacos and I will admit these are by far much better then any others! As a first time patron this exceeded my expectation of a fish taco! On the other hand the margarita could have been more tastier! Finally, a place that serves tasty fish tacos ! Yum!

The friendliest waitresses ever! Cleanest Mexican restaurant I have ever been to and the décor is colorful and vibrant. My boyfriend and I wanted to try a lot of the food they offered so we got a quesadilla and guacamole to start, he had the chicken fajitas and he loved it, and I had the chile relleno. The chile relleno is homemade and comes with refried beans, rice, tortillas, and a fresh salad with not a lot of dressing (which I like). The quesadilla was very cheesy and the pico di gallo was fresh. For dessert we had the churros and strawberries drizzled with caramel. They have a lot of options for vegetarians and pescatarians.
I was surprised at how inexpensive this place was and they have happy hours as well.
Can’t wait to try the breakfast burritos!

The staff here is friendly and accommodates to our needs! I work for a dental office near by and we are some regular customers that order ahead and they are pleasant every time we dine in! At first, we were hesitant to try it out due to replacing the old Spanish restaurant but I can’t help it. Their food is just, if not, better than the previous restaurant that took its place. Not only have I eaten during my lunch break but have also enjoyed the atmosphere and food after hours! Definitely worth trying!

Great guacamole! All the food we had was great! Chiles rellenos was cheesy goodness. Salmon burrito was grande and tasty. Enchiladas meaty and good. Would come again. Wait staff at the ready.

This place has great food and prices! I agree with most reviewers in that their service is pretty slow, but they haven’t been open long and are more than likely working out the kinks. Once they figure out staffing and faster service, this place will absolutely be 5 stars!
If you can, come for breakfast. It’s very reasonably priced and really good food. Their lunch/​dinner is great too! I especially loved their tacos.

Sweet atmosphere, sweet staff, sweet prices, very good food. $ 5 margaritas and beers – without it being happy hour. Homemade chips and salsa. We had the $ 3 chicken tacos – ample and yummy – and a mushroom quesadilla — delicious! Great value.
We had pulled into the center for the Thai restaurant, but the aroma and atmosphere pulled us into this sweet little establishment.
If we were local, we would be regulars.

Los Cantaros Taqueria didn’t live up to expectations. eatery clean, roomy, service quick & courteous.
menu: look typical mexican entrees. no time to sit, just grab and go.
menu on the pricey side, guessing the rent here isn’t cheap.
eats: asada burrito (8) choose black bean, mild gallo sauce, and spinach tortilla wrap
–burrito size medium, beef on the edge of being gristled, chewy, wasn’t.
–chips tasted commercially made or they were a day old.
–everything tasted fresh (except chips).
3.5 stars.

–not wowed for 4 stars
–food definitely above average, very good mex food outside bay area/s.f.
–shrimp, salmon burrito (9), maybe a better choice.
