My family and I stopped in here one time based on the good reviews I had read, but we were sorely disappointed. I really want to like single owner local establishments like this, but the food was just not good My wife’s BLT had stale bread and bacon that tasted old, and her fries had definitely been sitting around for a while before they arrived at our table. I had the biscuits and gravy which had very little flavor, and the biscuits appeared to be institutional variety. The kids had pancakes and french toast, and they didn’t like theirs either, which is unusual — they like pretty much anything doused in pancake syrup This is the kind of place that can turn this around quickly, and I hope they do,

Country cooking here. This is type of place where everyone knows everyone. Every time I’ve had breakfast here the biscuits and gravy with a side of hash browns have done the trick for me.

Food was not very good and neither my sister nor I ate but a few bites of the meal. Service was fine. Burger sloppy and ungainly. Fell apart. Fries tasted like grease needed changing. My sister’s foot long fell apart with too much chili and was very greasy. Felt like I wasted my money and left hungry. Too many other fast food places around with better food. Felt a little unclean. Maybe it is just old.

You’ve found the home cooked country breakfast spot that you’ve been looking for! Opens early and closes early so don’t wait until 1:30 to motivate. Bacon=perfect. Biscuits n gravy so good I wanna smack the other cooks that have served me their versions in the past. The scrambled eggs were dry, but that is certainly a nit pick some may like it like that. ***Important*** Don’t let the locals scare you off!

Awesome breakfast. Had a «sweet and salty» it’s a omelette with sausage and jelly inside and on the top. Loved it. Love to come back again.

Good food at a decent price but so ridiculously slow. A full hour wait for goetta and eggs for me and a cheeseburger for my husband. Refills never offered and we are sitting right next to the pathway to the kitchen.

When Poochie’s Place made its initial appearance down the street from us in the remnants of an unassuming KFC, my wife and I were unsure what to make of it. The name«Poochie’s Place» doesn’t exactly infer a certain sort of business. It turned out to be a small breakfast/lunch diner, and a pretty dang good one at that. A greasy spoon joint in the best possible way. My wife and I have become somewhat regulars, enough so that«Poochie,» the purveyor of the location, recognizes us and greets us warmly when we stop in. We frequent Poochie’s for breakfast. It is always fast, delicious, filling and affordable. Here are a couple of pics, French Toast w/Strawberries, Blueberry Pancakes, and a Goetta breakfast, complete with two egss, hash browns and two slices of toast. Usually for the two of us, which would include two very filling breakfasts and two cups of coffee, the bill runs about $ 15 pre-tip. Pretty reasonable, I’d say. While I do agree the above burger from the earlier review looks pretty paltry, my wife and I have never been there for lunch so I can’t really speak on their lunch options. However, I would definitely recommend it for a friendly, filling breakfast location.

Had lunch 08/31/2012 at Poochie’s Place in Amelia. What HORRIBLE food! Below is a picture of my $ 5.25 double cheeseburger. The patties were about the size of a White Castle Hamburger. And it was $ 2.00 for two strips of bacon. So the burger below was $ 7.25. The french fries were dry and cold like they were from the day before. My brother didn’t even finish his. Don’t waste your time or money eating there.
