Having grown up in Amboy I was excited to finally see a small coffee shop in town. I visit frequently when visiting home but unfortunately the drinks are not consistent. Some days, depending on who is working, the drinks are stronger than others. I ordered a latte and the drink looked like there wasn’t any espresso in it, it tasted like milk with a tiny hint of coffee. Still a great spot to try!

I was born and raised in Amboy, but live in Virginia now. There aren’t many individually owned coffee places on the East coast, mostly just Starbucks. I stopped in here while home visiting my parents and got an iced vanilla cinnamon latte. It was delicious! Better than Starbucks for sure :) As said before it is newly owned and named RJ’s now.

For the past few years, this coffee shop has been under different ownership and name, RJ’s Coffee Shop. A great place to get that morning cup of coffee, the way you want it, and a muffin. If you’re hungry, you can purchase a hot dog, German sausage, chips, a milk shake, or desserts. I am sure I am leaving a whole bunch out… you’ll just have to drop on by and see what else RJ’s has.
