I have just had the worse emotional experience of my life I have tourette syndrome And due to the closed mindedness of the bartender and manager I was embarrassed to tears They did not want to serve me. That was ok but when I asked for a clear understanding as to why they became belligerent, they said it wad their right. I am 66. I have been drinking socially all my life In The best restaurants and bars in phila. This has never happened. If only they would have listened to me. But they were close minded and ignorant. I now know what it is like to be discriminated against. It is so degrading.

Before becoming Fireside ten years ago this location had been a revolving door of restaurant misses. The fact that it stands as a neighborhood staple a decade later goes to show how much of an upgrade Fireside is over the previous mish mosh of misses. Fireside is a great place to come in for a quick bite. The sandwiches are a strength, the pizzas are all fresh, and even their specialty dinners, often the downfall of many a casual restaurant, are excellent. The portion sizes are all huge, and you definitely get your money’s worth. They also are good about running specials in the bar for sporting events, and the early bird dinner offers a pretty solid variety for good value. Fireside is definitely a place you can stretch a buck. The only downfalls are that the place can get pretty packed, and as such gets a bit loud during peak times. Additionally, the beer selection doesn’t really stray from the beaten path, not a huge negative but it’s definitely not a craft beer destination. Overall the place is a great casual dining spot and definitely worth a stop if you’re in the area.

Not worth it on any level. Terrible beer list, very amateur cocktail menu and the pizza is average at best. Worst in ambler.

The Marinara tastes like they put cinnamon in it. Most of their dishes were Italian not«American» pub food. Can’t keep the alcohol in stock for their drink specials. Wait staff couldn’t recall who ordered what. Didn’t come back to check drinks but was more than happy to tell one of our party members they couldn’t have their outside beverage(which was near empty). Over priced for the service, food and drinks. I will never go back to this place.

One of my favorite places! The staff is amazing! Huge portions. The early bird specials are a great deal as is the prime rib special on Sunday’s. They have a great $ 5 menu during games! You can’t beat it!

Fireside isn’t your typical neighborhood bar. It’s a great place for classic bar like pizza, wings and burgers, and offers an extensive menu of pasta, steaks, prime rib and seafood. Besides the food, It’s a great place to watch the Eagles or Phillies. The bartenders and servers are friendly which adds to Fireside’s charm.

Best meal I have had out in a long time! Two people got the prime rib which was good, one person got the veal marsala which was good. I had the crab cake and filet. Which was PHENOMENAL! The crab cake was all crab, moist on the inside with a browned slight crispness to the outside with a lemon butter sauce on top. The filet was cooked to order(medium) with a merlot demi glaze. When I say my meal was phenomenal, I’m not exaggerating. The vegetable medley and roasted potatoes were cooked well, not overdone. Great place to come for a drink or for dinner. The waitress was attentive and pleasant, even though they were busy. Will DEFINITELY go back!

For what it is, Fireside is a great family/sports bar. Burgers are on point and they have pretty good wings, No reason to get fancy. I like that the bar is somewhat separated from the family seating. As a beer snob, having IPAs on draft is pretty important to me, so once again they win in that area! Outside seating is always a plus too.

The service is excellent. The food is good. It is always busy so best to make a reservation. The early bird specials are a good deal. Tonight, I had the clam chowder-really good!

It’s a sports bar and grill, but the food is much better than your average sports bar, and the menu is huge! We come here pretty frequently for weeknight dinners, it gets pretty crowded — and for good reason! The food is always consistently good, and my boyfriends fam and myself all have our favorites. I highly recommend: 1. The fresh pizzas — they have an extensive list and can really customize them any way you’d like. They’re large enough to share between 2 people, or more if you’re ordering other food. They also make great take out and leftovers! 2. The KILLER salads — yes, I’m not much of a salad person but I go nuts for their Greek salad and my boyfriend loves almost all of their salads. You can choose your meat on top, I opt for grilled chicken but there are more adventurous choices too. They’re huge so perfect if you’re hungry or want some leftovers for lunch the next day. Overall portion sizes are really big, especially the chicken parm and other entrees and pasta dishes. They have happy hour and sports specials all week that are worth looking into, and lots of TVs all around to catch whatever game you might be interested in! Plus trivia nights, I will have to come back for one of those soon!

We are in town for a trade meeting and popped in today for a late lunch, around 4PM. The bar was packed, I mean every bar stool was occupied. Fireside ran some March Madness specials, a lot of beers for under $ 3.50, and a lot of food specials for $ 5 — personal pizzas, Philly cheese steak egg rolls, quesadillas, hummus plates, boneless wings, chicken tenders, etc. I had a Corona Light for $ 3.50 and an order of the boneless wings, I was happy with the wings– a very decent sized portion of ten meatball sized chunks of chicken, two celery spears and blue cheese dressing. A good value for just $ 5. Our server was sweet and attentive. The atmosphere was great, we had a blast!

I’ve been coming to Fireside for a while and the food is always pretty good. I recommend the Pete’s Favorite junior or senior and I love their garlic wings! Be sure to order them extra crispy! Especially if you order them as take out. I have had some in the past I swore weren’t fully cooked but since I specify extra crispy, I haven’t had it happen since! Their appetizers are pretty good, as are the salads. I haven’t had their pizza but I hear that’s good too. Alright draft list. Will be back in the future.

I love this place. The food comes out hot and very tasteful. Every time I go there is a wait but it’s worth it. The staff is good and they play every game that is one and I love it. I’m addicted to their clam casino, so good. If you like clams I suggest you try them and if you don’t, I suggest you try them. The pasta dishes are very good, I really haven’t had anything else from there. The portion sizes are average, I always end up taking food home. I really want to try their ribs, I heard nothing but good things about them.

Appetizing food with healthy portions. Nice place to watch a game with all the TVs in both dining and bar areas. Small outdoor seating out front is definitely a plus. Best wings that I have had in the immediate area, large, crispy skin and flavorful sauce that is not overloaded on they go wings. Deep fried cheesesteak wrap was good and a cool menu item. French onion soup has good flavor and a nice cheese to onion to croûton ratio. Decent beer selection on draft. Will continue to visit and order from Fireside.

Went here on 3÷1÷2014 for the early burd special and got the chicken parm. It was a HUGE portion and was very good. I would definitely recommend this place prices are great! And the special came with a salad and dessert!

I’ll echo the sentiments of another Unilocaler and say this place is bland on all levels. Good luck trying to navigate your way through the tight parking lot to even find a spot. There is a free valet if that helps any, but it didn’t really matter to me. Inside is just as tight. The place is quite busy as it seems to be the only family dining spot around town. The prices are reasonable, but not for the sub-par food you are getting. I even it kept it simple, but I guess you can mess up simple. For example, who brings out garlic wings with all the sauce sitting on the bottom of the platter and not on the wings? The meatlovers stromboli I ordered was just as plain tasting. Judging by the expressions of the other folks in the party, there was nothing spectacular about their entrees either. Top that off with the less than average service [without a smile] and I was itching to just leave as soon as I could.

The word of the day is boring. I stopped in for a late lunch around 2:00 this week. I sat at the bar and perused the sixteen taps. They were just about all domestics. Boring. The bartender brought me my beer and a menu. I was one of only five people at the bar and he was too busy being bored to engage me. When my meal was served he never even bothered to ask if it was OK. Speaking of my meal, I thought I would try the vaunted pizza. I opted for the small Meatlovers($ 10.95). It was out quickly and as soon as I saw it I knew it was going to be a problem. It was overcooked and there were several spots around the edge that had progressed from nicely browned to black. Worse, the toppings were mostly piled in the center. There was a wide ring around the edge with no toppings at all. I hate that! Overall it was substandard and boring. Two of the TVs mounted around the bar were playing cooking shows. I suppose it could have been worse; they could have been fishing shows! I left half of my pizza and half of my beer on the bar and walked out before I died of boredom.

I’ve gone here a fair number of times for lunch and also a few happy hours. It’s not a terrible place, but the food is kind of hit or miss and if you get there at noon, it has the potential to turn into quite a long lunch. I have also found some of the beers to be a little off, as if the tap system isn’t properly maintained(again, it’s not terrible and everything appears to be clean, but the taste was off). On the positive side, their fries are very good(nice and crunchy) and the servers during the lunch hour are really great. I said that lunch can run long, but in general I think it’s the kitchen not being able to keep up with capacity more than the servers because they typically seem on top of things. They’re all really friendly and pleasant. This also ends up being a good place for groups(which is why I end up going there fairly frequently) who stop in for lunch during the workday. Plenty of space and they do a good job of splitting up the check and what not. I guess that because Ambler is growing and there seem to be more and more options in the area for food, this place just ends up seeming a little lackluster in comparison. While it’s not necessarily a place you’ll ever be longing to eat at, you’ll likely have an acceptable meal if you do decide to stop in.
