Jimmy John’s

I used to be a regular at this store for a couple of years who literally ate there almost every day. One day I popped in for a sandwich and I had realized I forgot my debit card after I ordered. I had about $ 5.50 cash so I was short about a $ 1.50. I asked if I could pay them back the $ 1.50 next time and the manager said said no it was against their policy. How greedy can you be? I said «ok, you just lost a regular who spent $ 7-​$ 14 a day over a measly $ 1.50. I stopped giving them my business and started going to the Western St. store. I recently stopped eating at JJ for other reasons (owner using company $ for re election campaign of Joe Arpaio and hunting of animals classified as vulnerable) but this review is regarding the Soncy store of JJ.

Sandwiches were stingy on the meat and weren’t anything to get excited about, in fact, id rather have made my own sandwich at home. My kids weren’t impressed either. To boot, there was a dead spider in my husband’s drink cup…

I was so hungry I forgot that Jimmy Johns don’t open till 10.30. But the gentleman in there was nice enough to make a sandwich for me. For him to do that it meant a lot. I appreciated what he did.

If you are a fan of over-​priced bread and shredded lettuce, by all means try Jimmy Johns’s.

I travel to Amarillo every other week from Austin. Once I get to the hotel I don’t feel like going out. I started ordering Jimmy Johns and I can’t believe how fast it delivered and the quality of the food.

This is a fun little sandwich shop. Most if their signage is hilarious.
I had the «Vito» … It was good, but I had high expectations and the sandwich just didn’t meet my expectations. The flavors were ok (better than subway!) but you just didn’t get enough meat or produce. They are for sure trying to fill you up on bread.
The food gets 3 stars from me … there marketing and store environment gets 4 stars. Overall my Jimmy John’s experience gets 3.5 stars.

We ordered from here from a nearby hotel because they delivered. The BLT’s were mostly lettuce and mayo, nothing special. I ended up putting the few pieces of bacon all on one half and tearing the rest of the bread off. I also asked for avocado on mine and couldn’t find any. My husband’s Turkey Tom was much the same story. Not worth the $ 30 for 5 sandwiches, would not eat here again.

I am sitting here in Jimmy Johns and I am extremely disappointed! We walk in and no one is here. First notice that it is FREEZING! After getting our food I also notice that there is only one clean booth to sit at. although it seemed like when we walked in everyone was just talking. We find the last clean table in the place and sit. Then we notice that the music is Disturbed, a very loud, screaming band. Not what Jimmy would want I’m sure. That song was followed up by a rap song that clearly sai the word «F* ck»!! At last when we started looking around for some salt and pepper we noticed there wasn’t any on the tables. When asking if try had any behind the counter they answered «we don’t even keep those in stock»… Disappointment!

The food here is totally normal and average and what you expect from a Jimmy John’s. The problem I have with it is the annoying and ridiculous parking lot. It’s tiny and narrow and there are too many large construction vehicles or pick ups to navigate without feeling like you’re going to be crushed by some dude who could run over your poor little hatchback. There are a lot of food options in this area off the Interstate, but this JJ’s isn’t a terrible option. There you go.

I really had no desire to try Jimmy John’s until one of their employees was passing out free samples at a shopping center near my house. Tasty, and a great way to get customers in the door. The prices are not bad either, and unlike Subway, the sandwiches are not 90% bread and lettuce. I had the #4 TURKEY TOM (Fresh sliced turkey breast, topped with lettuce, tomato, sliced cucumber, and mayo– The original), and my companion had the #5 VITO (Italian sub with genoa salami, provolone, capicola, onion, lettuce, tomato & a real tasty Italian vinaigrette with hot peppers). The wait was not long at the drive-​thru. Paid for our order and the next thing I know the clerk comes to the window, hands me a sack, then turns around to walk off. Hello, isn’t it customary to say «thank you» «come again» or something similar? It was very offensive. I yelled «thank you» to get her attention and maybe let her know she should be the one saying it first, since I did give her money. Not a bad place, but customer service training is needed for the employees and especially the drive-​thru clerks.

I’m currently only listing this as 3 star and here’s why:
Jimmy Johns is a franchise that is built on their reputation for speed, and I do give the leeway that this location isn’t very old. But a few times I’ve ordered and I was having it delivered to the mall (since I couldn’t leave for break) it has taken a fairly long time.
My prior experience with them in a different town, they were extremely fast.
Food quality is good the speed not so much, yet.

Really a great place. If there is ever a mistake the owner correct it immediately. Would recommend it any day of the week.

I think the word gourmet is used too liberally nowadays. With that being said, the food here is not bad, and it is made when you order it.
But, it is not gourmet food. That’s not to say it is bad or anything of the sort. Their portions are generous and they serve you quickly.
I think my only gripe is that I didn’t get the pickle I ordered.
Other than that, I would definitely come back.

I wanted a sandwich with turkey, cheese, and tomatoes. They gave me turkey, cheese, and cucumbers. If they mess up something so small, I certainly won’t be trusting them with my future business.

Love this place and it is cheaper than Subway.
