A cute little place I make sure to stop at every time I’m traveling through Amarillo. There are plenty of healthy options, and the workers are extremely helpful, welcoming and friendly. The lunch bar is delicious and has plenty of options. A little pricy, but this is to be expected as it is all organic. Overall, you’ll leave feeling light and refreshed. :)

I have loved this place since I was a child! My mom used to take me here and we always got frozen yogurt(to die for!!!) and a turkey avocado sandwich!!! Now, many, many years later I am STILL eating here! The quality hasn’t changed and everything is still delicious!!!

Amazing food! I love eating here whenever I come back in town for work. They use very best organic ingredients for their sandwiches and hot food. It’s always so fresh every time. My favorite things from the menu are tofu stir fry, Amy’s green juice and turkey avocado sandwich. Price is set slightly high but It’s totally worth it.

I used to come here frequently to buy their delicious frozen yogurt and shop in the health food store. I stopped shopping here because the last time I did, a lady that worked there made it very obvious that she thought my husband and I were shoplifters. She followed us closely, and every time I picked up an item to look closer at it, she informed me that if I opened the package, I would have to buy it.(really?!) The last straw was when I wanted to take a look at their essential oils(kept behind the counter); she told me I would have to leave my coat and purse with my husband. I will never shop here again. I have never felt more humiliated in a store, and I did NOTHINGWRONG!

The food was tasty, the service very good. Rather pricey, though. As I was handed some literature during our meal, I read that their food costs more than other places because of the superior quality. The brochure even said something like«we aren’t ashamed that our prices are higher.» If you really weren’t ashamed, I would think you might publish, print, post your prices.

This place is way overprice, the staff is rude. They tried to charge $ 1.00 for a tablespoon size side of salsa. $ 3.00 for a large tea in a to go cup, the cup was extra. There is a cup on the counter that says«local charity»… I asked what charity, the person behind the counter became defensive. I think these folks are that cheap. To take pennies for charity and pocket it. I’ll never go back.

I will keep this short. Two chicken salad sandwiches and two waters = $ 20. I should have walked away then. Six hours later(with nothing else to eat), violent vomiting and diarrhea. My husband and I were sick for three days. EFF this place. I wish the owners could experience what we did. this place needs to be shut down.

see the big sign off I40 and always wanted to stop in and try the place out, well… pricy of course due to the shelves of organic and gluten free products, but i did happen to find what i need to change my eating habit(going organic). They also have a wide selection of vitamins and supplements a long with a little café restaurant that had me tempted to try but i didn’t have time… def going to try the café out, not many health food shops here in amarillo so i may have to stick with this one.

1. The best salad bar in Amarillo — fresh organic items, and usually the biggest selection in town — but not always. In larger places it’s easy to find superior salad bars, like Whole Foods, etc. But this is the best in Amarillo. Juice bar is also good. 2. Great location: very convenient location to the affluent Wolflin neighborhood and not far from downtown. And also directly on I-40! 3. It is pricey. 4. In many of the reviews the staff/owners are mentioned for being rude and even unhelpful. Hmmm? Maybe. They can be a little cool but they’ve always been helpful when I’ve asked a question. They have managed to retain a very loyal customer base over many years. There are friendlier stores, but not a deal-breaker for me at all. 5. Some reviews criticized the restaurant menu. It’s healthy food. More reminiscent in taste & concept of the first generation of health food bars. It doesn’t pretend to be gourmet health food — just simple sandwiches, soups, etc.

Great store and deli. I had the Hummus Vegan Sandwich and my guest had the Turkey Melt. We both enjoyed our meal, though I thought the cost was a little high and the sandwich was a little light on the hummus. But it is great to see a place like this in Amarillo.

I stopped in on my way from Boston to San Diego for some vegan sustenance. One of the staff(a slightly older gentleman) was friendly and helpful, while the other staff seemed to not want to be bothered. The store was clean and well-stocked. The supplement section was extensive, complete with information sheets(especially useful when staff seem unapproachable!). Produce seemed a little pricey. Not an amazing find, but its proximity to the highway make it a sensible choice for the health-minded road tripper!

We were visiting family and came here to get some grocery items. They stocked alot of our favorite foods. Some of it seems like it had been on the shelf for a bit too long though. The apples in the fruit section were rotting. I bought a sandwich from their deli and it was awful. Very tiny for what they are charging and the hummus they make on the premise tastes weird. I like what they are trying to do here especially in Amarillo but it is lacking alot.

We had lunch here that wasn’t too bad, and afterward wanted to explore the store a bit. Both men behind the counter were noticeably cold/rude and unaccommodating! Afterwards I realized they owned the place! We wanted to try out their produce and had no idea how overpriced it was. Nearly $ 10 for a tiny pineapple. The workers even seem unhappy… I just didn’t feel at ease there and will not be going back.

Eat Rite is the best place in Amarillo to get your vitamins and supplements. They carry the best products and have good prices. They’re also a family owned store that has been in Amarillo for 63 years! The Cunninghams are very kind good Christian people. They care about everyone who walks through their doors. I’ve been a customer for over 6 years, and it’s one of my favorite places in Amarillo. Tim Cunningham is a certified nutritionist and a great guy. He has helped me so much in dealing with the OCD, anxiety and depression that I suffer from. He also got me feeling physically better than I have ever felt in my life with the right supplements and, of course, working out on my part. And I used to be a total gym rat through high school. Tim is very good at what he does, and he’s very knowledgeable. He also won’t try to sell you things you don’t need. He’s told me several times that I didn’t really need something. He cares about my health and well being and not about just selling me tons of supplements I don’t need. Great people with great advice and honesty and great products. You don’t get what you get at Eat Rite anywhere else in Amarillo for sure. They’ve also got healthy organic groceries for meat eaters, vegans and everyone in between, a smoothie bar and a restaurant that serves healthy foods of course. Do yourself and your health a favor, and pay Tim a visit at Eat Rite. You’ll be glad you did. I thank God for the Cunninghams and Eat Rite.

I wouldn’t recommend this place. I was on a road trip home looking for healthy faire and stopped in to the deli. One of the clerks was nice enough to walk back and help me. I’m vegan so I ordered the Hummus Vegan Delight sandwich. After giving my order to a young kid, he asked if I wanted something to drink. I asked if he recommended something and he said, «whelp, we got vegan wawter! Huhuh.» I ordered the only smoothie w/o yogurt, started looking around and daydreaming about this guy and the rest of his staff down the street on their lunch breaks chowing down on brisket at Rudy’s and cracking jokes about his«health-nut» clientele. The smoothie was good and so was the sandwich but $ 16.00 for a cup of fruit, two slices of Ezekiel bread, 2 Tbls of hummus, a few slices of tomato, cucumber, onion, and alfalfa sprouts is a bit much. Didn’t buy anything else but everything was so damned overpriced at a glance. Pretty depressing atmosphere, pretty depressing experience.

I do like the turkey/avocado sandwich, but the prices are a bit high for the items they sell. I had no idea about the drama at Eat-Rite– who knew?! So, I say the café is good but shop elsewhere for health food items.

Very weird stuff going on at the store, too. The owner was always civil and even nice to me, but his wife is a completely psychotic money-grubbing bitch who swings back and forth between tyrant and martyr/hero on an hourly basis. While I can appreciate the power of vitamins to accomplish many things, sometimes you should really be on prescription medication. The only reason this woman has employees is because she happens to employ most of her family, which means that no one can stand up to her… how do you support your three kids if your crazy boss fires you AND your wife? As far as the actual place goes, the smoothies are amazing, the grocery section is small but relatively diverse, the cosmetic section is bigger than I expected, and the vitamins take up a good third of the building. Most of the bakery stuff’s decent, although it will taste about like dog food to anyone who has ever patronized Sweet Life Patisserie or Black China Bakery. Or several other vegan/whole foods establishments I could name. On the downside, they seem to think that in order to be healthy, their restaurant food has to taste like *ass*… you’d think there’s no such thing as organic herbs and spices. I’ve honestly never been to a worse restaurant, and that includes PLENTY of «healthy» and/or vegan establishments. Not to mention that there’s next to no options for bulk food(even grains!)… they have about ten bulk bins in the whole place. And while I can appreciate that there’s a lot of overhead involved in getting fresh organic produce and obscure grocery items to the Texas panhandle, their prices remain OUTRAGEOUS. Worst in town, bar none. You know, California’s not the only place that produces organic food. Not by a long shot. Texas does quite a bit, last I checked! But I suppose the people running this particular store would rather have a convenient excuse to float when customers begin to suspect that they’re being gouged. They are. I used to work there; I know what the prices are in the wholesale catalog. I know what they pay and it’s a helluva lot different than what they charge. It’s too bad they’re the only healthy grocer in town. OHWAIT! They’re not. There’s that place on Olsen by Kinko’s, and there’s certainly Market Street(same stuff, better prices! just not as many vitamins…) and I would recommend either of those a million times over before I’d recommend Eat Rite to anyone. Honestly, if you’re an Amarillo resident supporting the massive Toot ‘n’ Totum boycott, you should certainly rethink shopping at Eat Rite(if you do now). MAJOR price gouging and total jerks running the place. Looks the same to me.

Stopped here on a road trip and enjoyed it so much I stopped on the way back too! Nice selection of healthy foods in a city that doesn’t seem like a health food city. At least that wasn’t my first impression. They have a little juice bar in the back too where you can get yummy smoothies and healthy(of course) café food. So happy to be leaving Texas with a belly full of wholesome goodness and … a photo with the horse in front of the store painted like the Texas flag.
