Enjoyed the chicken tenders and corn nuggets. Hot, fresh, fast service. Tender chicken-yummy corn nuggets.

Used to be I could get catfish from here while running through town, fried perfectly and piping hot. Lately the entrees and sides have been slipping a bit. Last visit I got the whole family chicken strip meals and two out of three were cold. To the touch. They were cool about it and refunded the money to my card, and I was suddenly glad they didn’t have the catfish I had originally intended to get. Skipping this from now on and hitting the Wing Stop in the same parking lot.

Tired of having Mickey D’s on our road trip from So Cal to Tulsa, OK we decided to make a quick stop at Chicken Express. i don’t know if it’s because we were starving or because their chicken is really good, we bought enough to feed an army. Have in mind I’m not particularly fond of chicken period — from time to time I crave this place and their mashed potatoes. Maybe I’ll return one day and think it’s horrible, but for now I’ll stick to delicious memories of the place.

For what it’s worth, Amarillo doesn’t have much going for it. However if you feel like chicken, then look no further. Sure it doesn’t have any vegetables on the menu, but that’s not why you stop there. You stopped there for chicken, and damn it that’s what you’re going to get. It’s not bad either. My wife and I make it a point to stop in at one of their two locations in Amarillo every time we pass through. Think of it as one step up from KFC, because unlike KFC you wont feel your heart slowing down WHILE your eating. it usually takes about an hour to kick in. But you won’t mind the palpitations, because you’ll have just had some of the best chicken in Texas.
