I didn’t look at the reviews for Amarillo Inn & Suites before I came, because at this point in my road trip I cared more about the price. I regret not having a high standard this time, ok… I guess that I really regret not having a larger budget so that I could keep a high standard. Low price was the bait, and upon arrival friendly staff was the hook that got me trapped in this dilapidated Inn that is in serious need of some remodeling. My room(for the price was cute, but her slip was showing, if you understand that old slang… LOL View my pictures, I’ll caption them accordingly.

Hotel was definitely sketchy. The frame of the balcony window completely fell off when I tried to open the door… It definitely gave off the impression that it was slowly falling apart and hadn’t been renovated in a long time. It was fine for a night, but I wouldn’t voluntarily stay here again.

This is going to be long, but bear with me. I will never stay here again. Normally, if I have a bad experience with one employee I would give the establishment the benefit of the doubt. In this case, the situation was handled so poorly, I will never waste my money here again. Long story short, I was in Amarillo for a funeral. It was obviously not a good time for me, nor was it a trip for enjoyment. The trip started with a 1am landing and 5am wake up to begin a long drive from El Paso to Amarillo. When we arrived after 8 hours of driving, we barely made it on time to get to the funeral so it was a pretty exhausting day. Once the funeral ended, I knew we would be spending several more hours at my relative’s house, so my sister and I decided it would be best to check in first so we can go straight to bed afterward. We arrived around 4pm and the reception line was literally wrapped around the reception area. There was only one person manning both the people checking in and the phone. The receptionist overall took his sweet time, but was polite nonetheless so while annoying, it was no skin off my back. We dropped off our stuff and went to see our relatives. We got back to the hotel around 1am and this is when the problem started. We got up to our room to find that my sister’s keycard was no longer working. So we took the archaic elevator back down to the lobby where a man(I will have some class and omit his name) was standing behind the counter with the man that checked us in several hours earlier who was on the customer side of the counter. We told them our key wasn’t working and they asked what room. When we told them the room number, the man behind the counter shot a knowing look to the other man, which was weird. Then the man who checked us in previously asked«was there luggage and clothes on the bed?» My sister started to panic at that time and asked«what do you mean ‘was’ where is my stuff?» The man behind the counter rolled his eyes. She asked again«where is my stuff, was someone in my room?» The man behind the counter then said something to the effect of «don’t worry about it, I’m fixing it». I did not care for his tone or his attitude, so I told him too cool it. That started a sh*t storm of shouting on both ends with the employee saying things like«I don’t need this crappy job anyway», expletives, and telling me, the paying customer to leave. LOL. I asked for his manager and he said«it’s him», pointing to the other man. So I turned to him asking why he lets his employees talk to customers like this and that he’s claiming his job is shit while he just stands there watching. Ultimately, a stranger had to break it up telling him to respect the customer. The manager walked us back to our room making sure we got in and I told him I wanted the employees full name so I could call the owner. He begged me not to and told me he would«take care of it». Ultimately, I don’t like the way he handled it, but he was clearly in over his head with that psycho employee. He admitted he had made a mistake and double booked the room. Rather than explaining that when we first arrived, they acted all sketchy and refused to answer questions about where my sister’s bag was. Neither of those two should be working with customers. I was pretty worked up after this in addition to the emotional day and couldn’t really sleep. I went to the bathroom around 3am and the toilet let out the most ungodly sound upon flushing, I actually thought Satan had found his way into the drains of this hell hole. The sound continued for about 10 minutes, then quieted to more of a running water sound. With that, I was able to close the bathroom door and only sort of hear the toilet run all night. In conclusion, I won’t be staying here again and I think the most valuable lesson I learned was: –Don’t use to reserve a hotel that is not a large chain. They will eff up your reservations, guaranteed(also see Bryon’s review for a similar issue).

My family and I was passing through town and needed a place to stay. We reserved two rooms and when we got to one of the rooms and opened the door there were shoes and clothes spread all over the room. Clearly someone was staying there. Went to the second room and the door was so bad we could barely get it to shut. The manager tried to argue that there was no one in the room he assigned us. This place pays no regard to the safety of its patrons by not knowing which rooms are occupied and handing out a key to an occupied room and by allowing their doors to be in such poor working order.

Made reservations here because it was recommended on . It’s not a major chain but they seem like it. Very reasonable price, clean, quiet and lots of guest amenities including pool, gym, Jacuzzi and breakfast buffet. All the staff was friendly. If you’re in the military or retired, let them know because they’ll give you a very good rate. I definitely recommend it and will definitely stay here again if I’m in the area.

Great place to stay in, family pool, spa game room… Very polite staff, clean room and the complimentary breakfast was really good. Liked their biscuit and gravy…
