Extremely over priced. Had the pork chop, if asked to describe it, the shoe leather analogy is the first thing that comes to mind. The only discernible taste was that of the charcoal, as if the chop was dropped in the coals. My friend had the catch of the day and commented that the seafood stuffing was the only thing that was good.

My family and I visit George’s multiple times a year. Simply stated… George’s never disappoints. Been coming for 7 years, and it just keeps getting better. Service and food is second to none on 30A. Look forward to going back in April.

The food is usually tasty here and eating out on the patio is always nice, but seriously the wait staff is awful every time I go… specifically their attitude/impatience. It must be from working in a town of visitors and not worrying about returning patrons but there are a lot of us who live close enough to frequent these places.

It was a gorgeous, sunny day, even in November. We brought my dog, so there was a 25 minute wait to sit outside on the patio. Who would sit inside on a perfect day like today?! I had a sparkling wine while waiting. The service was outstanding. The food was excellent(grouper sandwich, burger, & lobster quesadilla). The waiter brought water for my dog. The day was perfect. We also walked over to the Alys Shoppe, which is a couture gift/apparel shop. I bought a very unique colored Panama style hat. You must go to George’s. This area is so pretty along 30A and George’s was the BEST!

We went last weekend on Saturday evening. They weren’t that busy, but the service was really slow. I mean, really slow! I had the scallops which were perfectly cooked, the porcini coating really gave them a smoky taste. The risotto underneath, not the best I’ve ever had. Sort of lacking in flavor. My husband said his steak was«okay» but didn’t seem blown away. My parents had the fresh catch which was tasty & had a great seafood stuffing on it. I skipped wine to save calories for a dessert. Now, wish I’d had the wine because the desserts were nothing to write home about. Again, ok, but nothing special. My husband & mom had the ice cream sandwiches and they both said they didn’t like the cookies, that they were too hard & definitely not homemade. They both even left 1 cookie each which is highly unusual for my husband. For these prices, I would have expected better. Dining outdoors in the mild weather was really nice though.

Long story, short: 4 Stars Ambiance, 2 Stars Food Myself, my sister, and my boyfriend ate at Georges this past week. It was my sisters birthday and the atmosphere definitely fit for a special occasion. Unfortunately, the food was not so great. First, the restaurant was gorgeous. They have a beautiful porch and an outside dining area. We sat outside under an umbrella that had built in fairy lights. It was beautiful. There was a great breeze and not many diners, so we had the courtyard to ourselves. Our server was very sweet and made us feel welcome. For appetizers, I had the fall nicoise salad and my sister had the baby wedge salad. My sister liked hers, but agreed that it’s hard to mess up a wedge salad. The Niçoise salad was also tasty, but again, it was cold vegetables in a light dressing. Hard to make it taste bad. For entrees, I had the grilled catch of the day which was cobia, my sister had the tagliatelle, and my boyfriend had the scallops. My fish was cooked well, but my potatoes were burnt. I was also not impressed with the seafood stuffing on my fish. It was relatively tasteless. I think my sister enjoyed her pasta, but she didn’t make any specific mention of it. My boyfriend was disappointed with his scallops. He said while the scallops were cooked well, they and the risotto also had little flavor. I will say that the worst part of the food was the price that went with it. Everything was way over priced, especially for the small portions. If each item was about $ 5 less, it would have taken some of the sting out. The desserts, on the other hand, were very good. We had the warm chocolate toffee goo, the apple cake, and the key lime pie. Those three desserts went a long way to make up for the rest of the food. Unfortunately, for the price and quality of the food, I don’t think I will be going back to Georges to eat. Perhaps for a glass of wine at night, but that would be about it

The appetizers were fabulous. We ordered the lobster quesadilla’s, George’s fries, and flat bread. I think I liked the appetizers even better than my actual meal for which I ordered a salad and Mac & cheese. If I ever return, I will order seafood. The Mac & cheese was good, but not great. The salad was forgettable. I could make a meal out of lobster quesadilla’s alone! We waited for about an hour to get a table outside for a large group of 12, which was totally expected. Overall, I really enjoyed this place!

One of our vacation MUSTS! We eat here every time we stay on 30A. It’s a little pricey but worth every dime. I try something new every time, and have never been disappointed. The s’mores and chocolate goo desserts are to die for and the lobster quesadilla is a great way to start. It has s great atmosphere and even though it seems a little fancy, they still love kids and provide great menu choices for them. Everything is fresh and delicious. Love love love George’s!

I really wanted to like this place based on the reviews and location; however, it was a disappointment. There was a group of 7(one was a 2 yr old) that came here while we were on vacation. We made a reservation and were seated as soon as we came in, which was great! We all ordered our meals pretty quickly. We enjoyed our drinks and were all looking forward to our food. I ordered the scallops with risotto, it sounded delicious. The food then came out for everyone except for 1 person. The server then came and said that someone forgot the order and that it’ll come out shortly. The rest of us proceeded to eat our meals. My scallops were very mediocre(they kind of had a strange smell) and didn’t have much taste. My fiancé ordered the swordfish; it was better than my scallops but still not as good as I would expect from a place like this. About 30 minutes later, we all finished our food and my fiancé’s sister(the one that didn’t get her entrée) was still food-less. We had checked with the waitress, who said that it should be coming out soon. She didn’t even come to check on us while we were eating and apologize for not having the entrée out. At this point, we didn’t even want the other entrée anymore since everyone was done eating and the 2 year old was tired and ready to leave. The last entrée finally came out and the waitress had it boxed and removed it from the check. Overall, the experience was not as expected and the food was average.

Good, but just falling short. The forbidden rice was horrible. The lobster casadilla(which was told to us to be the best thing on the menu, by our server) was excellent, but is big enough to almost fill up two people. Our server did not tell us this and we ended up only eating half of the 2 we ordered for our 4 top. The table next to us took the time to dissuade us from ordering the«Prime» ribeye that one of us was considering. The spicy salt and pepper shrimp was the best entrée we ordered. A lot of the fish entrees we tried were nothing spectacular. I think that after eating there once I could really feel good about ordering more wisely on my next visit and possibly bump it up to 4 stars. No Liquor, cool beer not cold, decent wine list. Host rolled her eyes at us when we came in 45 minutes before close. I know this isn’t the best review, but I really think they are probably better than this. We’ll eat here again next year and I’ll update my review. 3 rounds, 2 apps, 4 entrees and a dessert $ 330 before tip. This has nothing to do with my review, just a heads up if you are on a budget or cheap.

This is such a cute place for lunch at the beach. The watermelon and grouper salad is perfect for a hot day. The Asian crab salad was really well seasoned and contained an ample amount of sweet crab. This is one of my favorite lunch spots in PCB.

If every restaurant experience was like the one we received today at George’s, my kitchen would probably forget how I looked. Where do I start? They are open daily for lunch, but close at 3pm. We arrived at 2:50pm and immediately felt the love from the staff, although they were closing soon. Our server James was the ultimate host. He was so knowledgeable of the menu and made excellent recommendations. I never felt rushed and he was overwhelmingly attentive, but not intrusive. He did a great job welcoming us and an even better job inviting us back when we were leaving. My daughter was pretty hungry, so we put her order in with our drinks. Not a full minute after our drinks arrived, her fried shrimp basket was delivered. Perfectly seasoned fried shrimp with a generous portion of crispy French fries. She truly enjoyed it. $ 11 is a little steep for a kids menu, but I felt it was well worth it. We both took James’ recommendations and selected the fried grouper sandwich(I substituted the roasted red potato salad in place of the fries) and the lobster quesadilla. Both dishes were nothing short of perfect and absolutely divine. The fried grouper sandwich was so fresh and flaky with a nice, golden fried batter on a buttery toasted bun. The potato salad was good, with a surprise addition of capers. It was delicious. The only thing I would have added was a tiny bit of black pepper, but I decided to forego adding anything. Now, about the lobster quesadilla! It was absolutely delicious. They didn’t skimp on the lobster, shrimp and crab. There was a nice addition of Monterrey cheese mix inside and finished with a refreshing fruit salsa. It was perfectly balanced. I would definitely recommend this item on your next visit. Two thumbs up! We were too full to try dessert, but I will definitely save room to try next time. Finally, I never usually comment on restrooms, but find it noteworthy to mention that George’s has an extremely clean, tidy restroom. Even my six year old daughter commented on how clean it was! Today’s visit was definitely my favorite restaurant experience during my visit to 30A. Hats off to the staff and team at George’s. Keep up the excellent work. Can’t wait to visit again!

Tip: A little warning, the Lunch menu is NOT offered at Dinner. Dinner may be $$$. Food and service is still Excellent and worth it! Food: The food is excellent quality! We looked online at their lunch menu but came in late afternoon. We didnt know lunch was closed and had to order dinner. The dinner can be expensive. Lunch looks very reasonable. We overheard other tables also surprised they could not order lunch. We started with their Lobster Quesadillas. Very tasty start! Have to try it but it is $ 24. I had the Jerk Crusted Snapper which was very good too. A very good portion of fish and very tasty sides! We also had the Salt and Pepper Shrimp and Campanele Paste. My family liked both. Even my son like his kids meal. He got the fried shrimp which was actually a good portion. He almost wanted the mac and cheese but he even felt like it wasnt worth getting a $ 11 mac and cheese. Place: A quaint place. Like a beachhouse turned into a restaurant. Can be a little tight. We went for an early dinner so we got a table quick and easy. But we saw it fill up pretty fast. Reservations may be necessary. Its located right next to the Alys Beach center where we watched the July 4 fireworks. Perfect location. We biked to George’s and of course bikes were locked up in the front. Very clean bathrooms also. Service: The waiter was very attentive and knew their food well. Answered all our questions and keeps our drinks full. The food was delivered in good time. Value: I think their lunch is very reasonable. Dinner will be over $ 20 a plate easy but the quality is very high end. So it is worth the money. I would return!

Excellent food and service. Most popular dishes are red snapper, shrimp and scallops. I tried the snapper — delicious. Great wine list — we sampled the Sancerre and a Pinot. Delicious salad — try the peppered strawberry salad

This place was fantastic! First time there and so far it was truly a highlight of our trip! We had the Spicy Grilled Calamari Salad, the Lobster Roll, and George’s Famous Fries. All three items knocked it out of the park. The calamari was spicy and delicious and the Quinoa and peanut salad was great. The Lobster roll was great as well, but those fries, with sliced pear and pulled pork were really something. The porch was comfortable and cool and the service was excellent. We will be back next time we are in the area.

The lobster quesadilla and short rib appetizers were my top picks. No one was overly thrilled with their entrees. The waiter had really talked up the lamb dish I ordered(it consisted of a chop, a sausage sort of thing that I very much did not enjoy, and I think it was a nibble of leg? — 3 different sorts of lamb meat anyhow) and man it was just a let down. I think it’s unsafe for waiters to really sell a dish because 1. Expectations are high &2. If you don’t like it and your selection had been swayed by the sell you’re left wondering how the dish you almost got would have been. Makes for a disappointing time. Cute atmosphere though.

Every time we visit 30A, a lunch or two at George’s is always on the list to do. We never skip it. I first reviewed George’s in 2009, and six years later, it’s still damn delicious. Like many places along 30A, a lunch here isn’t for the thrifty. Both of our lunch visits last week topped $ 100(included wine and dessert). The service is spectacular and you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. The grouper sandwich is my favorite — grilled or fried, it doesn’t matter. I also recommend the calamari fries. They are so tender that even my 16 month old toddler loved them! Don’t miss dessert. The key lime pie and toffee brownie mess are spectacular.

Wow. The atmosphere is awesome. The service was @beach slow but great. I ordered the ribeye. Holy cow… it was good. Had a slight smoky flavor which was excellent . Great place… they even gave my wife a blanket because she was cold!

This is my first time on the Gulf in Florida, at least this part of the state. I’ve been to Sarasota many times and of course the ubiquitous south Miami and Ft. Lauderdale, where every NY family vacations each year. This strip in Walton County consists of multi-million dollar homes that all resemble a make-shift Truman show environment. Well of course, The Truman Show was filmed in the neighboring town of Seaside. Drive another 20 minutes east to this gorgeous dune filled stretch and indulge in one of the only upscale, read, truly edible and delicious eateries. To be expected, everywhere else is just touristy and downright fried. George’s side salads can be switched out from fries: collard green slaw, red roasted potato salad, quinoa red rice, butternut black rice, nutty couscous(too sweetened for me) or pickled cucumbers. Melissa, a great server I was lucky to have offered to switch mine out and went that extra mile twice in a row. I’m such a finicky eater. The burger was perfectly done medium, thick and rich on a bun that wasn’t sweet or too doughy. The seafood filled taco OMG, lobster, shrimp and cilantro with diced tomato and spices, to die for. There’s a section of the menu called Mis-behave which means«fried». The outside porches are airy, air conditioned and light enough for me to write this review. Kathy, the hostess is a delight and charmer. The food, the staff and location/atmosphere make this a lunch or dinner spot not to miss.
