On road trip, Unilocaled this local «gem» as mentioned in prior post. Practically got ran over by an oldie as we road raged to this place. We were salivating over our food expectations as we pulled up at 2:17 pm on a Friday afternoon. All the signs & lights were on and we rushed out of the car to enjoy our new discovery only to hear the «The Price As Right» loser sound in our heads… the place was closed? What? Huh? It’s only 2:17 & it’s closed… yep. A little annoying given that NOTHING online mentions it closes at 2:00 pm.

Since Alva is a small college town, it has an over abundance of fast food. We love local places and searched out this downtown gem. The sandwiches were delicious and generous, service was superb, selection is very nice but sandwiches/​sides only. It was a perfect lunch.

We stopped here on a cross-​country drive and were impressed by the wide variety of creative sandwiches and giant cups of iced green tea. Small, unfussy, clean place with friendly staff. Great alternative to the greasy fast food stop.

We try to eat here at least once a week… great sandwiches! Personal favorite is the Thomas. Teens like the Dustin, Ralph, and Elizabeth.
