Randomly found this park while we were in the area waiting to go somewhere else. Nice big park, well kept. My son is 9 months and it was his first time in a swing. He loved it, and we tried to put him down a slide, that didn’t work so well haha. If we are in the area again, I’d love to go back

I’m on a mission to locate all the parks in the Orlando area with pull up bars, parallel bars, or monkey bars. So if you know of any, please let me know. Merrill has a pull up bar set up with 2 height options.

Very big park with a big play area for kids and lots of baseball fields, also this park is great for grilling or just relaxing on a lazy day. Volleyball is also great to play here with lots of lights around so if you have a baseball game or want to just play volleyball or bring the kids late in the day it makes it safe here. Like someone mention it is the official«USA softball national team training center of the East coast » making this place very popular.
As someone who typically spends 2 – 4 nights a week out on the deep sand courts of Merrill I suppose I have to be a big fan. I love Merrill primarily for the fact that they have 3 fairly well maintained sand volleyball courts and they host sand leagues. Love it! My only complaint is those pesky softball tournaments they like to hold. When those are in town you’ve got to hike it from your car to the sand courts because you’ll be parking all the way out by Publix. The park rangers are really nice and definitely make us gals feel safe when we’re leaving late at night. If you like sand volleyball and can play, this place is awesome. Make sure you’re up for the challenge though because this sand will swallow you alive.

Merrill Park is a nice little park that is known as the«Official USA Softball National Team Training Center — East Coast» by the National Governing Body of USA Softball. Located in Altamonte Springs near Jamestown and 434, Merrill Park has three softball fields and three beach volleyball courts. Overlooking the softball fields from atop a hill is a nice shaded playground, picnic pavilions and swings for kids. There are concessions and restrooms. Although the restroom aren’t the best at least they are real working bathrooms! The park was well maintained and clean and this Saturday we went, quite busy. There is ample parking nearby and a fitness trail leading from the entrance into the park. Overall a great find and so close to Altamonte and I-4! I’ve driven around the area many times and never knew this quiet park was tucked away amongst the trees!
