Let me start by saying, I don’t normally like Macaroons. I hate the weird taste of the cream filling and dislike the flaky flavorless flavor of the pastry shell. We always walk by this place in the mall, and I am always fascinated by the Truffles. The outter shells have the glossy shiny finish that amazes me. Well, this time, while looking at the truffles, my wife decided to buy a 6 pack of the macaroons. I tried one of them and I will admit, it was really tasty. It was a pink color, and has a slight berry flavor. In comparison to other macaroons Ive tried, the cream in the middle was very light and tasty, and the pastry was a little softer and actually had flavor. The reason they lose a star, is because there is no way, even in this area, that 6 cookies should cost as much as they did. These cookies are essentially the size of Oreos, but cost $ 2 each. Im sorry, but that kind of absurd gouging, does warrant losing a star. Good food, just, maybe not priced appropriately.

I picked up a box of 6 macarons for $ 12. There were many flavors to choose from and was a cute little treat to purchase as I was leaving the mall.

Love this place! I haven’t tried every place that sells macarons in Orlando yet but these are the best in the area I’ve had thus far. They could hold their own in Paris, almost as good as Laduree! Always crunchy on the outside and never too heavy or chewy inside. The flavors taste like what they are. I tend to go for more traditional flavors but next time I would try some of their more unusual flavors as well. On this most recent visit I picked up vanilla, salted caramel, pistachio, lemon, raspberry, and strawberry yuzu. All were fantastic. I didn’t taste much salt in the salted caramel, but didn’t mind, I bought it for the caramel flavor and really don’t care if it’s salted or plain caramel. I’ve been to the Winter Park location as well and macarons are the same. Ambiance isn’t as nice here but it’s easier to get to and park for me which means easier for me to buy these tasty treats. Pricing is fair in my opinion and competitive with every other macaron place in the US and in France, where I’ve paid upwards of $ 3 a piece. For those who don’t know, macarons are a delicacy and not the easiest thing to make and make well, it definitely takes a skilled baker. Add in all the premium ingredients for each flavor and costs rise. I don’t know what they put in them for each flavor but I’ve never tasted anything artificial in them so I’m assuming they use the good stuff and nothing fake. I could see all the vanilla beans in the Madagascar vanilla macaron. Quality over quantity. Don’t give a poor rating because you’re too poor/cheap to afford them. It’s like going to a steakhouse and complaining filet mignon is too pricey. Also, it’s MACARON, not MACAROON. Macaroons are a completely different thing. I mean, the place has it in their name. If you’re going to eat the things, then you should know how to spell it correctly. Pet peeve.

Ok I’m just gonna say it. This place is incredibly expensive. Maybe no one else wants to mention that, but I will. I mean, they offer a check-in perk, but even that is only 5% off. FIVE percent. Five. F-I-V-E. Seriously? Um, usually the minimum discount is 10%. I don’t think I’ve ever even seen a coupon for less than that. I understand the Winter Park location is like, top notch, high society, but this location is in a shopping mall nestled between a fountain and an Auntie Anne’s. Your prices should match your location. Now don’t get me wrong, the macaron was good. I mean, I have no prior macaron eating experience to compare it to, so I’m assuming it was good. It didn’t taste bad, that’s for sure. But for what I paid, it should have been«slap your ass and call you daddy» delicious. Or at least come with a commemorative photo of me eating it. If you had a minimum wage job, an hour’s pay would only buy you 3 of these. That’s a lot of money for so small an amount of food that you’ll be finished eating in the time it takes to walk to the trash can and throw away the receipt. And you’ll want to throw away that receipt, because looking at how much you just paid will make you sick to your stomach, and you just paid way too much to waste them by throwing them up.

Great customer service and same great flavors as always! The gentleman working gave us one to sample because we didn’t know if we’d like the flavor. He was awesome! And I always love le macaron.

I am tying to figure out why I have never, at least until recently, tried the amazingness that is a French macaroon. Now that I have had one, I cannot resist getting one every time I am in the Altamonte Mall. Just imagine, a moist, crumbly cookie that is a sandwich for the creamy icing inside. Now that you have that image, picture a smörgåsbord of flavor options, many of which are very unique to a dessert(mint, basil, rose). The skeptic might stop here and see that these cookies are expensive and small. Both observations are correct, but do not let this be a deterrent to just run over to Auntie Anne’s like you do every other time. Spend the money, and savor the amazing and unique dessert that is a French macaroon. The myriad of flavors, combined with the moist cookie, will make you a believer.

This place is great! Deliciously and freshly prepared macaroons and a good variety of them also. Macaroons are not sold everywhere so it was nice to see a place just for them. Their gelato is very good as well! P. S. This place is located in the Altamonte Mall in case you have trouble finding it.
