I’ve been to this rubios a couple times and every time it’s only ok. Today it was HORRIBLE. I ordered 4 original tacos on flour tortillas with no salsa. Somehow it came to 18 $?! Then I got my food to go so we could eat outside. I had my two small children with me. we sat down the tacos weren’t on flour tortillas they were on corn they all had salsa and they gave us NONAPKINS. No napkins with tacos. who in their right mind would not put napkins with fish tacos. Very disappointing won’t be going back here.

If you have not been to Rubio’s, YOUNEEDTOGORIGHTNOW. My favorite restaurant in Alpine. Fresh food, good portions, and lots of flavor! I love the variety of tacos they offer and ALL the salads are my favorite!

I have been to this Rubio’s location a handful of times and every time I have gone there, I have been pleased with my meal. Today I ordered the classic fish taco and a tilapia taco. Everything was fresh and delicious made to order. the staff was very friendly and the place was clean. I love that you could serve your own salsa from the salsa bar and there are so many to choose from. They have $ 1.50 classic fish tacos on Tuesdays after 2:30. Great deal! I may just have to go back for round 2!

2nd time in 3 weeks that I have stopped in to grab a simple burrito to take to the movie in the park. Both times it has been the slowest service I have ever seen. We are talking 20 min with only 3 orders ahead of me. 1st time they completely forgot my order and served 3 people after me. Do not stop in if you expect anything less than a 20 min wait with NOLINE!!!

Super sweet register girl, Dakota. Their service was on point and very quick delivery. The facility was clean and welcoming, and the salsa bar was full and inviting. I even overheard Dakota giving extra assistance to the elderly woman sitting in the lobby. Very pleased.

My husband loved the fish taco and shrimp burrito. He said it was amazing because it was filled with delicious grilled shrimp and crispy fish. It was filling and worth the price. My especial fish tacos were soggy by the time I ate them. I’m sure this was my fault because I brought them to Bingo. The chips and bean dip were excellent. Also, they have unsweet Mango tea! The young lady who helped us was very sweet. Excellent customer service.

Not very vegan friendly but did there best to accommodate my eating needs. The place is clean and service is amazing! They did mess up my order by adding cheese & sauce made with dairy; the manager made it right by apologizing and fixing my meal from scratch. The salsa bar is good and they chips are always amazing. Will I be back anytime soon probably or maybe I will go to the café across the way in the casino & order a salad.

Five stars for a fabulous Rubio’s experience. We showed up with 15 folks and they delivered everyone’s orders to our table. They helped seat everyone in the shade and took a picture for us. Food was standard Rubio’s; 5 stars is for the kind service.

I know Rubio’s a chain? Not all Rubio’s are created equal in my book. This particular place, they know my name(yeah just like Norm in Cheers). I can’t complain about the food nor compare it to the other locations because… It’s supposed to taste the same. I have come here for the Tuesday special of $ 1.50 fish tacos. It was simple, two fish tacos and I am good for another few hours for my next meal. Don’t get me wrong I do order the fish burrito once in a while. Rubio’s is a good alternative to the other food establish around the are. Until next Tuesday…

Ate hear about 2 – 3 times a month for the time I worked in Alpine. This is probably my favorite lunch spot in the area(Alpine Brewery is also very good). Outdoor seating is nice. As others stated, Lynda and Luis are awesome. Luis will remember your name if you have been more than 3 or 4 times, it’s amazing. Rubios food is good, but the 5 stars are really for the incredibly friendly service at this location.

Imagine a long trip to San Diego… and you would be cramped up on a van for about 8 hours eating junk and water… your body needs to have something more than just chips and candy to sustain yourself… say a nice fish taco to end the day and then truly say, «Hey I am in Alpine and I got me some fish taco!!»…does it make sense? nah… but let me carry on… Rubio’s made my day when we went around Viejas Outlet Center. I have been hankering for fish taco for days before and even made some at home(it wasn’t a success and worst… it didn’t stop the craving — epic fail!) So when I saw their sign about Tuesday’s $ 1.50 taco… I am like, now I know my purpose, it’s Tuesday and I am there. It was like a sign(well it was literally a sign — but you know what I mean, right!!!) and I just had to drag my companions to check this place out. Little history: Ralph Rubio went to Mexico a couple of times and there at a seaside eatery he had his first taste of a fish taco. It was love at first taste so to speak so he perfected his recipe and opened his first store in Mission Bay, San Diego… and next is history so they say. The place was neat with its clean counter and side bar of condiments for your mexican grub. Different salsas, onions, cilantro, lime and sauces were available for your spicy craving. The store also has its own patio if you want to eat outside and enjoy the breeze(night time was nice). The food was light and filling. seasoned well without the condiments but spectacular with it. The craving was satisfied to the last bite. Am I hooked? duh, yeah! If I wasn’t travel lagged I would have tried something else of theirs, but my daughter was trying to pull me to get her a subway sammish so I had to take mine to go and eat it out. Uugghh… a mom’s job never ceases…

Leaving a 5 star review because if the efficiency and friendliness Lynda Holmes, I had a tiny issue one time, I came back and had the same issue and I wasn’t gonna bring it up in the restaurant, Lynda noticed I was a bit displeased and attended to it how a GM should and made it so I will come back, she cares about the diners and their experience and it was appreciated I hope she continues the good work

Very friendly and the manager Lynda knew everyone’s name waiting for their order. It was busy, but the fish tacos are worth the wait.

I work in the mall and go to Rubios for lunch 2 to 3 times a month. Lynda and Luis who run the store are very pleasant, friendly and welcoming. I always look forward to one of them smiling up at me when I walk in and I see them treat others in the same manner regularly. The chicken tortilla soup is one of my favorite items, but I have enjoyed everything I’ve ordered. Linda

I’ve been to a lot of Rubios over the years, and never expected to write a review, but, surprise: this Ruibos rocks. The people were so nice and friendly. The food seemed a bit better and fresher than at other Rubios. I eat there whenever I go shopping at the Outlet stores. It’s healthy and inexpensive.

Britt was very polite. Guac was in almost every item ordered. Healthy & delicious. I could tell the corn in my burrito was grilled, which made it tastier.

I hadn’t had Rubio’s fish tacos in awhile and was looking forward to a delicious meal, unfortunately it was quite disappointing. There was much more batter than there was any fish to be found. Way to skimpy for the price of the food. Probably cured me of wanting Rubio’s tacos for a long long time.

Chips taste great here… I’ve been to at least 5 different Rubio’s and this location is a little bit different. Salsas seem more fresh here, chips are crispier, and this location is always clean. Lines go fast and never is too long. Conveniently located in the outlet mall and next to Viejas casino. Good spot if you don’t feel like eating KFC or subway just next door.
