Anyone who’s worked in retail knows that the one key differentiator is service — and it can save or sever a customer relationship faster than anything else. I’ve stopped into this Lowe’s several times and have had a consistent experience with their service: it’s utterly indifferent. As a homeowner — with all the house/yard needs that entails — I usually have a need to go to a home improvement retail establishment on a weekly basis. This Lowe’s is within easy driving distance and it’s really convenient to pop in while running errands. Over the past six months, I’ve interacted with the garden department, the paint department, the«seasonal» department, the grill area and the lighting/electrical department. In each case, I’ve had to actively hunt for an associate to help me and received only the briefest of their time and attention. My most recent experience was in the garden department on a Saturday. It’s spring planting time and I popped in to take a look at the selection. I found a very nice hibiscus for the patio, got in line and waited… and waited… and waited. On the weekend during their busiest garden season and the store had one register open. One. I showed uncharacteristic patience and stuck it out so I could make my purchase, but after leaving I made up my mind that I won’t be back. Just a couple miles away is their primary competitor and is the establishment that I usually frequent. My experiences at this Lowe’s have confirmed for me that, regardless of the convenient location, it isn’t worth my time to stop here.

FINALLY!!! After visiting several stone and garden centers, landscaping supply stores and nurseries, we finally found the perfect stone for our garden border. After looking at so many stores, I feared that my husband was starting to settle and that is just not acceptable in my book. While we were in the area, we decided to check out their stones and I am so glad that we did. What a great moment! Although I do not get to this store very often, I have stopped in before,(on numerous occasions). Today I noticed that they were very well stocked with their flowers as if the delivery truck had just visited minutes prior to our arrival. Varied and beautiful! Everything looked so healthy and lush! just in time for the weekend rush! You will definitely want to get their early for the best selection and service. Prior to 7:30am is ideal and don’t forget to purchase your work gloves! If you find stones that you like, grab a few samples to test in your garden. We did and found the stone to be an ideal match for what we wanted. SCORE!

We went back to the store three times to order windows, each time the window guy had just left. Oddly enough nobody could help us. I find it inconceivable that the store is open until 10 pm and this is the only guy that can order windows. We’re going to give it one more try and then we’re going to head over to Home Depot. Horrible service in The window department at this location. We did place our last order with a nice fella named Jim he was outstanding however I think they moved him to a different department.

This is your typical Lowe’s, no worse no better than any other Lowes you’ve ever been to. On this visit we went to get paint and a couple of other items. Steer clear of the bathroom, at least the women’s bathroom, it’s hideous!

This store is always clean and the sales people are friendly. The people at the cash register were fast. Nice Lowe’s

This store is neat and organized. And everyone is very helpful. I recently had an issue and the manager was totally on top of the issue and made it right. Would highly recommend shopping here.

I recently had Lowes install my kitchen. They managed it a single project, and installed new cabinets, sink, floor, blinds, a new closet and shelves, painted the room, and more. I first went to Home Depot to price out the project. Home Depot was terrible. I could not get anyone to wait on me. I finally got someone, and after showing me a could of cabinet styles, they said that they would have someone who handles their projects call me. They took my number, but never called me. I also looked at some other companies for this project, but Lowes had more options, higher quality cabinets, and I felt that they could pull the entire project together. I then went to Lowes on Windward. They spent hours with me picking out cabinets. They helped me find a matching floor, matching blinds, matching backsplash, sink, and paint for the walls, etc. One neat thing they have at Lowes that I wish other stores would have it a call station in every department. If someone if not in that department, you press a button on the call station, and someone is there within minutes to assist you. Because of this, I never had to wait in any department for more than a couple of minutes for help. The Lowes staff worked as a team for the project. They had a project manager(Melissa) that coordinated with each of the departments. Every department had experts that helped in their areas, like Judy in the flooring and tile department. Judy worked with us for around an hour to pick flooring and tile for the backsplash. She coordinated with Melissa to ensure everything works together. Melissa has a great eye, and recommended the paint color, lighting styles, and more, and we went with most of her recommendations. Once we figured out what we wanted, and purchased it, Melissa was there for every part of the installation. Geoff was the installer and did an awesome job with his team. He brought up some recommendations of items to change that improved the project in the middle of the project. He was right and we implemented his advice. There were also a couple of items we wanted to change mid-project. They were flexible and made the changes. There were no surprises. The changes mid-project did not add cost, but improved the project. I could not have been happier with the entire process, from selecting each item for the project through the installation.

Not pleased at all with my Bali blinds, or Lowe’s. Do not order a blinds installation from this location unless you enjoy the installer coming out 10+ times b/c the blinds are installed wrong, missing parts, or broken. I have only had them 4 months and have gone though multiple sets. Lowe’s has called to ask me ‘How my blinds installation went’, while they HAD the blinds at their store. Did no one check the records to call me and let me know my blinds are ready to be installed again? By the way, I still don’t have my blinds back. I will not ever be purchasing or getting an installation from Lowe’s again. I would be ok with an honest mistake, but this has become multiple mistakes, and a large headache.

On the Northside of Atlanta OTP, comparing Home Depot to Lowes is a lot like Wal-Mart to Target. Home Depot does very well at contractor grade, get it done, do it yourself brands and materials. Lowes offers far more designer options with more of a focus on the consumer while still accommodating the contractor. I often visit this location or the one down on Duke drive instead of the Home Depot on Windward or the one next door to my neighborhood for simple things like hardwood floor cleaners, better lighting options, and more variety for garden and decorating needs that my local Home Depot doesnt have. The staff at this Lowes are also friendlier and tend to be more knowledgeable in my recent experience.

This place is just like Home Depot, only not as busy. The staff I spoke with regarding some waxing questions had no clue what I was talking about and were of no help. Guess I will stick with the Depot across the street.
