On a Tuesday afternoon sometime last month my friend and I had an amazing time with our meal and hospitality from the staff. This was my first visit and can proudly say that I will return. First impressions important in all businesses and they rocked it lol Great job everyone!

We really wanted to like this place, but it was not worth the price we paid($ 70 lunch for two adults). My sister in law is from Brazil and we are familiar with their delicious steaks and desserts. Unfortunately, the food bar, service and atmosphere was subpar. It felt like we were in a cheap hotel restaurant. Service was slow and misleading(we misunderstood the server’s explanation and thought that drinks and dessert were included in the $ 19 per person price). Instead we paid $ 6 for 2 Guarana soda cans and $ 13 for two small churros and a passion fruit mousse(which was more like a runny pudding). The steak and pork were dry and over cooked with zero flavor. So disappointed!

After realizing that Fogo de Chao was getting a little too expensive for us, I looked to Unilocal to find another Brazilian steak house. I’m glad we found Ipanema! We have only gone for dinner(around $ 18/pp) for all the meat you want. My favorite meats are the chicken wrapped in bacon, and the top sirloin, although all the meats are pretty good(alittle on the saltier side, but still good). The salad bar isn’t extensive, but it’s not bad. They also usually have a few hot Brazilian dishes on the buffet, and of course they have the fried bananas and cheesy bread. The servers are attentive, and the place is clean!

Excellent service, food not so much. Staff was friendly but meat was overlooked and very tough. When you pay $ 26 for lunch, you expect to be wowed, the only reason I gave them 2 stars is staff was very nice. But nice will not bring me back for bad food. This review could perhaps been prevented if manager would have asked a simple question — How was everything today? Now I’m venting on Unilocal instead of to you. SMH

One of my family’s new favorite restaurants. We found out about this place from a friend and ever since it has been our family’s favorite restaurant. The meats are delicious, especially the sirloin. The buffet offerings include cold salads and fruits and warm dishes, authentically Portugese. I have yet to try something that taste bad from them. Not to mention, their cheesy breads are something I cannot get enough of! The staff is especially friendly, always smiling. :D

I really enjoy this restaurant. I’ve been several times and have yet to be disappointed. Good meats, good sides, and extremely clean. The only issue I’ve ever really had was they int serve my favorite pasta the last couple of times so don’t get hooked on the side dishes. Other than that great place to eat.

It is understated from the outside, but clean and well laid out on the inside. The meat is well cooked and the staff is friendly and attentive.

At first glance it appears small and underwhelming but my attitude soon changed after I started eating. The food is very authentic and not very Americanized. It is what you would find down in Brazil. The service was friendly and fast. Make sure you ask for the bill or it will not come to you. Also if you are wanting to try it out. Go on the weekdays between 11 – 2 and it’s only 13.00 instead of 18.00 per person. I would eat here again. Ps you know it’s good when Brazilians come here to eat.

A bit inconsistent: timing is very important because you need to get a freshly cooked piece, not one that’s been on for a while, because the latter will be cooked too much and dry; the former is quite tasty, though. The quality is a bit inconsistent in general from visit to visit, too. At their best they are quite good, and even at their less than best, they’re more affordable than the other Brazilian places.

We stumbled across this gem after not getting service at Outback. It was kind of busy which is a good thing. Had all the cuts of meat and enjoyed the salad bar. Our waitress had a good personality and saw a huge piece of meat on our plate that was all grissel, she trashed it for us and made sure we got a good piece.

I haven’t been to my favorite Brazilian place for awhile and staff changes and the way the meats are prepared does undergo fluctuations in quality from time to time. However, the service is always amazing because you can tell that the core values of this family owned place are important. We came back tonight after being too busy to come for months. There was a new face on the grill, but the meat was loving prepared; amazing, juicy and succulent as ever. We arrived just before the dinner hour and everything was being prepped and stocked and fresh. Whatever time you come, you’ll find plenty of salad and veggies– leave room for meat! Still love this place and I will make sure not to wait so long between visits next time!

I came here because of all the good reviews. Great customer service. Everybody was super friendly. Very good selection of meat and salads and side items. I actually got tired of all the meats and started eating more salads and vegetables. I don’t know if I will be back again as I am not a huge Brazilian meat fan.

My current favorite restaurant! Great all you can eat Brazilian steakhouse. Rump roast with garlic is my favorite, and half the price of other Brazilian style steakhouses.

My partner & I visited for an early dinner a couple of days ago & the food was OK. I must say though that we certainly beat the dinner crowd as the restaurant was very quiet so I suspect that the quality of the food would likely be a bit better when a higher volume of people are in the restaurant with food being refreshed quickly. As others have commented, the service was efficient & friendly. The sides were very hit & miss… Salad & cheese rolls were OK but potato & rice were terrible. The meats were reasonable. Enjoyable enough but not«great». The interior of the restaurant is very basic but the set-up is comfy enough. All in all, it’s not a bad place to stop for a meal but for me personally, I would prefer to visit Fogo De Chao as an occasional treat, rather than returning to Ipanema. Fogo is quite a lot more expensive(2 – 3 times the price) but the quality of the meats as well as the variety & quality of the sides is hard to beat.

Not a fan. It’s very pricey and the food quality was pretty poor when I went. They had a guy behind the counter serving the different meats who didn’t have a selection to choose from or personality. I’m not the person to ask for a refund so I ate and quietly left, but I think I’ll just go to outback or something next time

For the price this place is great! You pay a little less than half what you’d pay for at Fogo, and you get all-you-can eat meats. Now, you can tell the meats do not have the same quality that they do at Fogo. The meats are also overly salty. Their other hot bar items are pretty decent. Service was good. Overall, I think I would recommend this place to others and might even make a return visit.

We used to adore this little joint. Now… Well it’s gone downhill as sad as the food goes. Nothing ever seems fresh, the meat is being improperly cut and seems far less quality than the meat we used to receive here. Their keeping 3 stars from me because the service is still AMAZING. I love the servers here but the food needs to go back to the quality it once was.

It’s no Fogo de Chau — but it also costs about $ 30 less per person. Interesting strip center steakhouse. You walk up to the counter and there’s only one person cutting the meat. Very tough to get Rare or even Medium Rare. I’ve asked for it every time and what they give me is red/purple about 15% of the time.

The best Brazilian steakhouse ever. That’s it. Go here. You will not be disappointed. They have an extra room now so you can host parties. The food is great and Alex is the best. The cuts are always good but they also have great sides and salads too. For the price, you can’t beat it. That rump roast though. Too good.

Good value Brazilian steakhouse. Instead of servers bringing the meat to you, you need to get into the line to order what you want. I think it’s worth the effort in exchange for the low price — 16.75 per person. Services here are decent. Just like any other buffet. The meat tastes very good. My favorite is the top sirloin. It’s well seasoned. Depends on the part you get, some might be juicy some might be dry. Overall quality is good! The spicy sauce … Is heavenly delicious!!! It’s made of the little round heart shaped pepper — cute looking, spicy and juicy. It reminds me some tropical island peppers. Cheese bread, fried bananas and the salad bar are all good. I like the pepper stripes mixed in the greens. Pretty and delicious. Yes I would recommend this place to any one who like Brazilian steakhouse.
