Although we weren’t overly impressed with Haiku the first time we went, we gave it another chance, and now this is our«go to» hibachi. The food and service is good, the chefs are entertaining, and we always have leftovers to take home! The only thing they can do better with are the to go boxes. The small, styrofoam boxes often leak We will be back again soon!

I came here on a Friday night with a Scoutmob deal. I had no trouble using the deal at all, and the servers were nice and friendly. For dinner, it wasn’t too crowded so we were seated immediately. I ordered the summer rolls, which were pretty good. We also ordered the mongolian steak which was not good at all. The brown sauce they use was salty and had an off taste too it.

My girlfriend and I live down the street, so we come here more often than not if we’re looking to eat Japanese food. Service is always good. We’ve had Timmy as out waiter twice now, and he’s always friendly and helpful. The teriyaki sauce is a little different than I’m used to – I think possibly it’s less sweet? — but it’s still good, and my girlfriend loves it. The steamed gyoza are also good. We’ve sat in the hibachi section and the dining room section, and both parts are consistently enjoyable. Hibachi combination dinners are slightly pricier than some other places I’ve been, but nothing exorbitant(maybe $ 1 or $ 2 more than I was expecting per dinner). On the other hand, my chicken hibachi dinner was so tender I almost couldn’t believe it – definitely worth the extra dollar. Enjoyable restaurant in a good location with good food.

Generic Asian — food you can get from a fast food Chinese place. Had Baha sushi — it was ok. Nothing to be excited about. Very blah. Hibachi — chewy steak, ok chicken, so-so sushi, bad hard overcooked fried rice, decent gyoza. Anyone who said they served good food don’t know what good food taste like. This is the place for quantity, not quality. OK food — but will not go back.

Just left haiku and had the best service from Timothy! Everything was delicious as well even though we showed up soon before closing. Will definitely be back!

Came here for my very first hibachi experience! I got the salmon hibachi dinner while my bf got the NY strip hibachi dinner. We didn’t come here to judge their food but to enjoy watching your chef play with fire. We forget the name of our chef, but he was pretty cool and even gave us a little bit of other people’s food, of which he made a generous amount of. Each chef cooks for about 7 – 8 people per table. The only difference between each client is the meat and so the chef generally makes all the common sides and divides them to each plate. The food tastes just like it came just off the fire and nothing else besides that. They also give the usual«volcano» show too. We would definitely recommend this place for any one’s first time hibachi experience.

Great place for sushi. Have yet to try the hibachi, but will try it eventually. They always have quick and friendly service. Tends to get packed during the weekday for lunch. All in all, excellent place to satisfy your sushi craving.

I don’t like Asian food and ended up here with my co workers. Our chef Tim made me feel comfortable and made me a dish that was a perfect fit for my delicate… otherwise known as picky, pallet. I would recommend Haiku for any group event, or solitary dining experience. The atmosphere was beautiful, the entire restaurant was clean and the staff was very polite, friendly and professional!

So far, not so good. «Please wait 10 minutes so I can find a hibachi chef.» Srsly? Are they surprised people would come eat lunch at noon? Salad and soup was fine. 40 minutes after arriving and cooking hasn’t started. Tofu was fantastic! Chicken was great. Rice and vegetables were good. Chef was nice and friendly without being cheesy. Reply to mgmt: Yes, review was left same day as visit.

Even for lunch time it was not too busy, we got seated right when we got in. Ordered from the lunch menu and if you order the special rolls you get a second order of one of the general rolls which was fine with me. The rolls were excellent especially with the additional eel sauce. Only reason for not giving a five star rating was because the waitress barely checked on us to see if everything was good or we needed refills. I would still go back just based off the quality of the food.

This place is NASTY! We had a hibachi dinner a few weeks ago. It was the worst dinner I have ever had. We had lettuce that had been wilted and rice that was crunchy and seemed burned. The veggies were waaaay undercooked and the chicken was pretty much raw. It seemed frozen and it was mushy. Our waitress was also rude and inattentive and she seemed like she didn’t like her job. I will never come back and never will recommend this place.

The most pathetic place in terms of service…; I went there with my 4 other office colleagues… and were surprised to see the place almost empty at lunch time, should have taken the hint and walked out… The hostess was rude, she barely refilled our drinks. The food portions were so small that they were barely enough to feed my cat. All of us were looking at each other when the chef served us the rice and vegetables, the bigger surprise was when the entrée portions were served, literally it was just 4 – 5 spoons of meat per person. When I protested the hostess offered to bring more rice but said they would charge extra. I am definitely not going back there.

By far one of the worst restaurant my family and I have ever been to. I’m not a huge fan of hibachi, but I can honestly say that your hibachi was lacking flavor. Now, please remove sushi from your menu. It is an offense to call«that» sushi. I can get better quality sushi at Publix. :( Super overpriced and, the only thing that made our night less disappointing was the hibachi chef who was very pleasant.

This was one of those evenings where you walk into an establishment and immediately wonder if you made a bad decision. It was a Sunday evening around 6PM, and we were one of maybe 4 tables in the entire restaurant. This was the first bad sign. We decided to stay since the reviews were decent, and my son was starving so it wasn’t worth it to figure out any different options. We seated ourselves since the hostess seemed preoccupied… since it was so busy??? Server came over shortly and we honestly began to wonder if this man had taken a bath in the last 3 days. Second bad sign. Not the kind of smell you want to have around while eating. We put our orders in for chicken hibachi, some sushi rolls, and chicken lo mein for my son. Food came fairly quickly —(how could it not?) and the presentation was decent I guess. I took a bite into one of the sushi rolls and immediately said a prayer asking God to spare me of food poisioning. The tuna was not fresh, at all. But I had two other rolls to try so I didnt even mention it. They were below average to say the least. Im just glad I didnt find myself curled over by the toilet later in the evening. My GF said the chicken tasted like it had been frozen for days, and the rice was undercooked. We chalked this evening up as a loss, as I didnt even bother sending the food back in fear of what other food that may have already expired be placed in front of me. Will not be coming back here.

Always great service, from the hostess to the Sushi chef. They always have fresh fish and fresh ingredients. Plus, they’re affordable. Highly recommended.

We went here with a groupon Friday night, we were there early and probably why we were the only ones there. Smelled like grease as soon as we walked in. Cook’s name was John and he was probably the best thing about the meal. He was very pleasant and friendly. Food was good but too expensive. The shrimp hibachi dinner should not be almost 22.00 for shrimp, Kroger vegs and rice, shrimp is not that expensive. My partner got the tofu and it was ok but not worth the price. We wont be back for a while because even with the Groupon, I spent 40.00and we had water to drink.

By far, the WORST sushi that I have ever had in my life. I have had sushi all over the country and planet and if this had been my first experience with sushi — I would NEVER try sushi again. I went in to dine early in the evening — I was the ONLY person in the restaurant yet the service was slow… really slow… really slow and not attentive to see if I needed anything… ever… When my meal arrived, it looked good. But it had no flavor so I asked for ponzu(citrus flavored soy sauce). I was told that would be $ 1 extra — I responded, «I will pay extra for food with some taste». No response from my «server». The rice was only partially cooked and not edible. I left most of my food on my plate and my server did not question either if I wanted a box of if I was not satisfied. Horrible experience but I didn’t get food poisoning so it wasn’t a total bomb. Others seem to have gotten meals that were edible We will never, ever, ever, ever go back.

This is a nice restaurant in Alpharetta. The staff are always energetic and nice. I have been here several times both for the hibachi and for the sushi. When you are at the hibachi table they always put on a good show and the food is delicious. The sushi is also very good. I ordered a jack and coke and it was pretty strong. I work down the street from this location so my coworkers and I go here for lunch sometimes. During lunch it is usually not very busy which is good if you don’t want to spend too much time at the restaurant. The food is still delicious and there is a lot of it. You definitely leave here full and the price is very good.

I only go here once in a blue moon with the hubby. Located behind what use to be bahama breeze. Service is always top notch, the server checked on us continuously throughout the meal. The chef could be more vocal but I didn’t mind because I only talk to my hubby during meals. Same show though, gave 3 fire shows and tricks. Now onto the food… I got the combo hibachi dinner, vegetables & scallops included with more veggies & fried rice. Also including the soup(very good, flavored right) and the salad with ginger dressing(which was not heavy like other places). The scallops were cooked right & flavored just right. He did a great job on it. The fried rice was also yummy, I couldn’t stop nibbling on it during the show. The veggies were a little on the bland side because he cooked it too long. He started on it after he cooked the seafood & meats. That’s a no no for me, I like it fresh and crisp, not soft & mushy. Now to the alcohol… I had a green tea vodka which you could say is a interesting drink. Well it is. It has actual green tea inside along with green tea vodka! Imagine that! It is a must try drink if visiting here. I also had the banzai drink, if you can handle strong drinks then this is for you. It had plum wine & vodka in it, one sip and my head was already spinning. But quality wise, they are all great. I was surprised at the bill when it arrived. I was expecting it to be around $ 100 per typical for hibachi places. Bill proved me wrong, for two people plus 3 drinks, it was on average $ 65 for everything. Pretty great deal! Also be on the lookout for Unilocal offers or groupons for Haiku. Haiku Sushi & Steakhouse is a great establishment for the Alpharetta area. No disappointments here!!!
