Five Guys Burgers and Fries

Hands down my favorite burger. The fry portion is huge, the burger while pricey is also worth it and all topping other than cheese and bacon are free. A few cheese options would be nice but it’s fine the way it is. Best burger on windward Parkway.

The burgers are fantastic! There is of course an over-​abundance of fries and they have the Freestyle machine, which everyone loves. They get the order right, most of the time.
There are 2 problems I have with them that lead to 3 stars:
1) A bacon-​cheese burger with small fries and a drink is $ 14.17. Quite a steep price for those 3 simple items. Maybe cut back on the inhuman amount of fries and lower the price a bit?
2) At $ 14.17 my tax should have been $ 0.99, it was not. My receipt showed the tax was $ 1.00. Ok 1 cent is not that big of a deal (but it is MY 1 cent, not theirs!). A co-​worker, who was with me on the same day, had a total of $ 14.75. His tax amount should have been $ 1.03 but it was also $ 1.00.
There is something REALLY shady about their cash register and the way they are charging tax to customers. Chipotle got caught rounding customer bills a few years ago and this is NOT acceptable!

Free peanuts, great food, and Coke Freestyle… what is there not to love about this place??? Five Guys is a great restaurant. The prices here are unbelievable! You could get a hot dog here for only $ 4…which is a pretty good deal if you ask me. The environment is very clean and neat. I highly recommend this place. Enjoy!

Staff was friendly, food was great for a burger and they give you a ton of fries. A little fry was enough for me to share. Clean restaurant, delicious burger joint!

I love that they dont nickle and dime you, you can get what you want. and its so dang good. If you are looking for a solid burger place then this is where to go. they are way way way too generous with their fries. you can order a small and still share it with the entire family :) They have the coke freestyle. which is always nice. Everything is fresh and quality. They cook fresh to order, it comes out hot and juicy. Not typical that you can eat at place like this for under $ 10.00

Whoa, YUM! Bring your appetite b/​c you are going to get FULL! Regular burger is 2 delicious patties — bring a friend to share the fries. They won me over when I found the Malt Vinegar to douse my fries in. This is just really good, no frills, good food. PLUS, they have the Coke Freestyle machine, so you can get like a bazillion drink combos. The only downside is parking (more spaces in the back), but we always go to beat the lunch crowd, so that’s not an issue. A complete (but well worth it) diet buster. Oh, and they do online ordering here. Thank you 5 Guys Winward!

Five Guys is your standard burger joint. Everything is ground and grilled fresh, and they dont bother with ridiculous and complicated toppings. The staff is friendly and the place is clean. In my opinion there are a few too many «craft» burger places, its nice to see a simple burger done right.
If you are allergic to peanuts I would steer clear. Fries a fried in peanut oil and there is a crate of roasted peanuts for customers to snack on while they wait which means that there is peanut on everything.

Yes, I like peanuts. So when they crank your custom made-​to-​order burger out too soon, you don’t get many peanuts. But then they load. You up with those fresh made Idaho spud French fries — as many in the bag as in the carton. Their burgers are delicious and the fixings you can add like grilled onions and fresh jalapeños make this one of a kind. I used to order the «big» burger — but the smaller one is cheaper and fills me up — backed by the fries and, yes, the peanuts. The high-​tech Coke machine likes to quit under pressure and makes getting a cold beverage a challenge with so many choices. I had to get a five year old to show this old bird how to work it. Good burgers — a little pricey though.

This is absolutely the place to go if you want to have it their way. I will never go back. Have never been so dissatisfied with a burger place in my life.

Ok. I am not the biggest burger fan but the burgers at Five Guys are pretty darn good. The burgers are made to order with any topping you want. The fries were very tasty. But the reason they dont get 5 stars is it’s a little pricey because this is a quick service restaurant and everything is to be ordered seperately.

The staff is friendly, they do a great job keeping the place clean, they have peanuts to snack on, the jalepenos are some of the better ones I have had, and the bacon and cheese accompany the hot dogs and burgers well!
Also– they have the FREESTYLE!!!
Keep it up– I am glad you are close to my work :)

3 instaed of 4 becasue grilled flavor would be better.
I’m a fan of the little bacon cheesburger, fries and a rasberry lemonade. The food is consistent and the fies are amazingly tender. Add to this the free peanuts and you have a can’t miss combination.

OK, I decided to see what the fuss is all about. They have peanuts in the shell you can munch on while you wait for your order, but even though the place was packed, my order was complete in about 5 minutes.
So I guess the concept is a big burger with a bunch of free (i.e. already priced in) toppings. My custom burger had jalapenos, mushrooms, lettuce, onions. I left off the cheese, tomato etc… If I was just rating this $ 4.99 burger I would give it four stars. But add in coke and fries and the bill was a whopping $ 10.46. UGH. The fries were so so. Nothing wrong with the fancy coke machine either. I just have to ask myself, can I get a better meal for the same amount some place else? You Betcha!
Long story short, I will go back but I will ONLY order a burger, nothing else. Unless they had beer. But they don’t.

I like it fries are fresh and hot, caution don’t even enter if u are allergic to nuts! they are everywhere and o so good. burgers cooked with pretty much anything u want on them.

I almost broke my rule and gave this chain 5 stars. Finally something that is the exactly the same as it was in DC. Here’s the deal I went to Marymount University and the ORIGINAL VERY FIRST Five Guys was the spot to go to if you went to Marymount. Imagine my surprise when I woke up one day and literally found them on every corner.
They are taking over the world one location at a time. You know what I am cool with that. Their burgers are amazing and taste the exact same way they did when there were only two locations in the Northern Virginia area.
This is my absolute favorite place to get a no frills cheeseburger. What I like the most is they have a fabulous selection of standard and not so standard toppings and all are included in the price. You want mushrooms no problem. Everything is super fresh and made right when you order it. When you order your burger is when they start cooking it.
Don’t even get me started on the fries. Vinegar and ketchup and it’s over. I can eat an entire regular order (it is meant for two) of fries and my little cheeseburger no problem. I just regret it later when I jump on the scale.
The one thing I forgot to mention about this particular location is that they have this super cool futuristic soda fountain. It is all touch screen and the wave of the future. It is pretty cool but as long as the burgers keep tasting the way they always have I could care less if they handed me a can of soda.

I like this location
1. They have the most awesome soda fountain on earth, it’s like iPhone gone soda fountain with each soda being its own app
2. The staff is always really friendly
3. The food makes a bad day seem insignificant
3 good things warrants three solid stars. I will say, while the food makes you feel good about yourself, it’s not the best burger on the planet BUT they load you up with fries and that is enough for me to forget about an average tasting hamburger. It’s like opening a happy meal when you were a kid and smiling because you got the «cool» toy but only more mature because you are a big hungry adult and you just got hooked up with more food, score!

This place is pretty good. The guy taking my order was nice and explained how ordering a burger there works with size, toppings, etc. Never been here before, so it helped.
The burgers were kinda soggy from the ride home, but were still good. This place seems like it would be better to eat in than taking it home. It wasnt very full when I was in there, but I can imagine it gets packed at lunch time.
Burger tasted great. Im not a big fast food guy, but I can get behind this. Everything is made fresh and is never previously frozen. A+ in my book, maybe a gold star and a smiley face.

This location took my Five Guys virginity a few years back. Since then, locations have sprung all over the north side, so I spread my burger love around. But now I have a basis for comparison.
This location is among the worst I’ve tried, mainly for the size (it matters). It is in a TINY space. They should consider renting the adjacent spot in the strip mall and knocking down the wall. It is way overcrowded in here for lunch. You bump into chairs, have to walk sideways, etc. I’m never comfortable. If you have a group of more than four and come for lunch, you’re gonna have a tough time getting everyone together. Holding a conversation isn’t going to happen either. It is loud and the XM classic rock station is cranked!
Nevertheless, it is still my favorite fastfood burger, my old standby. My kids love it, I just have to keep the two year old from eating peanuts whole (shell and all).
