Mi Jalisco Family Mexican Restaurant

We recently went here for the 1^st time. The food was pretty good. Prices ok, but the service was horrible. Only 2 tables, 1 waitress and she was slow in all aspects of the procedure. Didn’t look like she knew how to do the bill or make change either.

Salsa was sloppy, drinks were good, Carne Asada was good, burrito was good, chili relleno was terrible. Just not really a great experience.

I wanted to try this place out, it’s close to my home. I was ify at first a restraunt in a plaza, it just seemed like it was not going to be all that great. But! I ordered the Carne Asada super huge plate !! For the most lowest price I ever seen a Carne asada, bf ordered some fajitas. Delic! !! Salsa is great and they give you some bean dip. The service is top knotch, we never needed to ask for nothing, drinks were filled salsa and chips kept coming! My point don’t judge a book by its cover, I will be a regular here. Great prices great food great service

Great food. Great salsa. Good service. Good prices. Good atmosphere. I highly recommend this place.

This is one of those restaurants I would categorize as «average Suburban Mexican».
However, I will say there are a couple of differentiators here:
The salsa. Very good, fresh, chunks of ingredients rather than a «meh» paste (see picture).
Prices. Great lunch prices, left very stuffed for less than $ 10. And I eat a lot.
They advertised a happy hour, though I didn’t see a menu or anything. With their good lunch prices I would suspect their happy hour is solid from a value perspective. It might be a little lackluster from an environment perspective, though.
If you want a cheap Mexican place to fix your cravings, I’d say «why not?»

So I went here because I read they have Chille Verde I will just say this. I have better. So since Chille Verde is hard to master I went back and tried carnitas tacos. I was shocked! Normally when going to Mexican restaurant and you order tacos you get real corn tortillas. Well these tacos came in the kind of shells you buy off the shelf. Not to slam anyone in particular but people that use those type of shells are either inexperienced or lazy. Either way one would not expect them to be served at this type of restaurant. Anyhow personally speaking I struck out two times at this place, I wont give it a third try. The two stars is for the chips and AWESOME salsa.

This is a really good, family run place. The bean dip they give you is truly off the charts yummy. I can’t really say which of the meals is better than the other. They’re all good. :)

Service is top notch. Not necessarily friendly, just efficient, fast, and not un-​friendly. Drinks are always filled without asking, chip n salsa are changed out right away, food is delivered in a fast manner. In and out quickly on a Saturday night, not because they weren’t busy, but because they are EFFICIENT!

I got some dish with jumbo shrimps in a heavenly cream sauce. OMG thinking about it now makes me what some NOW!
I get something different every time, and every meal has been good. This Mexican restaurant is becoming my go to for Mexican in the area.

Food is decent, price is on point with regular mexican resturants, awesome portions. Great happy hour on margaritas.

I have been here once and was favorably impressed. Service was quite good. I’m one of those people who might drink 5 glasses of iced tea, and they kept it coming.
One thing I have noticed about Mexican restaurants in the Portland area is that they serve bean dip (often the refried beans served with a meal) with the chips and salsa. For years I avoided beans entirely, but I give them a chance to win me over now. The dip served was unappealing to me: unusual light color, lumpy, and pretty tasteless. That may just be my taste, but I am the one writing the review, so there you are.
One of my favorites — you might call it one of my test meals at Mexican places — is chile colorado. MI Jalisco’s could not have been better. The meat was of course tender and well seasoned, and the sauce was delicious and of perfect thickness. I care a lot about the sauce, and theirs is a feast for the eyes, the nose, the mouth (taste and feel).
We’re going there shortly. I don’t know if there’s a happy hour, but we don’t care. Olé! Join me.
Just back. Beans were perfect this time, dark, thick, tasty. My wife said her Margarita was best she’s had since the last time she made one herself. Her fajita salad was a thing of beauty and delicious. My tamale was heaven on earth soft and flavorful. Only three glasses of iced tea tonight, but I was offered more. Keep it up, Mi Jalisco!

I came here last week and had the Carne asada it was excellent. The staff was friendly as well.

Great service, employees are very friendly and attentive. However the food is average and tastes a little canned or watered down

I’m giving this establishment 3 stars because of the very friendly service, the strong margarita, and the fact that they had Horchata on the menu.
I will disclose that I’m a native of Guadalajara, Jalisco, therefor I will have to say that perhaps this restaurant should change its name to Santa Fe because it’s more Southwestern than Mexican.
I ordered the chile relleno, enchilada, tamale plate (I was not on a diet that day). The meat inside my tamale and enchilada was delicioso! Too bad that they smothered it on a sauce from the can and topped everything with cheddar cheese, which by the way is never served in Mexico. My chile relleno was actually a chile filled with cheese, but it was surrounded by a scrambled egg, not the delicate egg-​white wash that that it should be.
I wish I could give them 1 star, but they were so damn nice. If you don’t know good Mexican food, this is the place for you.

Okay, we have come here maybe 50 times and lately (the last 4 visits) we have had to beg for our first ordered Pepsi and then every refill there after. Listen, I enjoy my pepsi WITH my chips and salsa, not just with dinner! The same younger latino guy does this to us everytime now. I want the cool wife to wait on us from mow on!
By the way, the chips and salsa are so old and mediocre. I wished they would buy a different bulk chip.

This is still my favorite Mexican Restaurant I am the Dutchess and my husband is the Duke, that’s how often we eat here. The food is top notch and I am still in love.
The one thing that bugs the shit out of me is the server (the guy), I know he is the Owners Son, which is nice but for gods sake get a personality. He does an excellent job of making sure we have water, asks how our food is, etc, but I eat there weekly, act like you know me for craps sake, maybe a «wow nice to see you again» «thanks for stopping by», anything! As another reviewer noted they act very awkward and I have to agree.
He is so shy and never says one word more than he has to, I am sure he is a nice guy but he really needs to act like he enjoys his job even if he doesn’t. I have attempted small talk but he either acts like he does not hear me or says one word answers. It is bizarre, most Mexican Restaurants welcome you and are over the top nice and gracious.
I hope they read their Unilocal reviews which I am pretty sure they don’t.

So I’m from the Southwest, so I know good Mexican food. I’ve been trying to find a go too place in the area for a long time. This place is one of the best I’ve had in the Portland area. I have some allergy issues with sulfites, and I almost always get sick when I go out for Mexican food. Not at this place! Everything is fresh, very tasty, and service is excellent. I really like that they give you beans and salsa with your chips.
If you live in Aloha or Beaverton you have to try this place.

Even though we’ve lived in the area for 7 years, this is the first time giving them a try. Sadly, we will not be returning. The rice was chewy/​undercooked. The beans were runny. Salsa nothing to write home about. This is just not acceptable when there are so many other places in the area that do Mexican food so much better!
I did think the verde burrito with shredded beef tasted nice. But, not even a hint of heat. Three stars for the burrito.

Affordable. Flavorful. Consistent. I feel the need to explain how amazing this restaurant is, while the servers are awkward, the food amped up the whole experience! Well seasoned –not too salty!- and much balanced flavors in each dish. The beans were excellent, the rice was perfectly seasoned with so much flavor. As for the enchilada sauce– had a little somethin somethin that I can’t put my finger on but my word was it tasty. Got to eat my food hot and got it quick! Definitely coming back here. And worth a try!

This is a pleasant, family-​run restaurant in a shopping center. There is a «Lite & Veggies» menu section, good for vegetarians, as well as a «Lite» section for kids & seniors (60+).
The Espinaca Enchiladas were tasty, and came with black beans & rice. The Lite cheese enchilada came with rice & re fried beans, and was fine, but needed more spiciness.
The staff was friendly & service was quick. Can’t say how it be when crowded, because it wasn’t when we were there.

Came here with some friends and ended up loving this place.
Their tortilla chips, beans and salsa are Amaze-​balls! They have great deals on different combos. I’ve always gotten the #1 which includes two enchiladas. You can get either chicken or beef. I, myself love the chicken enchiladas w/​à la crema sauce.
The a la crema sauce is excellent. It’s nice and creamy not like most places where it’s watery.
They give a generous amount of food and I haven’t found another place that can beat their prices.
It’s a family owned business and their all pretty friendly, especially if you come frequently.
Also, they sometimes have coupons in the Beaverton booklets that come in every once in a while.
