Food is huge, price is ok. Service is blah. Well maybe I can’t blame them not seeing our existence because of the very very lack of lighting. Since I hate being ignored I’d say my experience was only mediocre. All my friends got hot pots and it look pretty bomb, if you’re cheap enough you can share it amongst 3 – 4 people. Had the Golbengi So-myun, which is a whelk salad basically, very interesting ~ not sure if I like it or not, definitely not as spicy as advertised. This is a boring review because didn’t have a too exciting time here. Sorry food diary.

Went here with a few friends on a Sunday night. I enjoyed my food and was pretty stuffed afterwards! Our server was friendly. One of the more interesting features is that there are a few TVs on the wall that seem to always be playing K-Pop music videos, which to me provided some entertainment as I’m not too familiar with K-Pop. When I went it was’t very busy at all, but I’d suggest calling ahead later on the weekend or other potentially busy times as usually I see the place packed when I walk by.

I only come here with friends at night for the soju + side plates! Food isn’t anything special, slightly overpriced to be honest. Seafood pancake is pretty good though, so if you are hungry I recommend this. Watermelon soju is always popular(tastes like juice!), as are the other flavored soju drinks & the fishbowls(also tastes like juice, very sweet, has gummy worms but is strong!!). Fun atmosphere, there is always loud k-pop music videos on the big screens, birthdays going on(where they make you take 5 – 6 different colored shots in front of everyone), and young crowd. There’s usually a wait on weekend nights but because it’s a restaurant, I’ve never had to wait longer than 30 minutes to get a seat. The waitstaff is fairly young, and I’ve never had a problem with service — if someone in your party speaks Korean, it always makes things a little bit easier though.

First experience was amazing. Delicious food, great menu, staff very helpful. Not what I would call the classiest of ambience, but definitely great for casual dining. Worthy of the effort it took to write this review :)

I love this place but coming from working in a food industry, I know communication is key to your job. You should tell a customer you included an 18% tip for a table of two people. Plus their beer doesn’t taste fresh and the mixed drinks are pretty much 70% fruit juice.

Awesome place for pregame be4 going to wonderbar. I love the wings there, bulgogi, and kaibi. I love their soju mixed drinks. My friend surprised me with a bunch of birthday shots by them. It was atleast 6 shots. Love it!

I love Myung Dong. I went here a few times this past winter with my sister as well as 2 – 3 times a month during the summer. The food here is good and the atmosphere here is extremely lively. Always expect an empty wallet, a light buzz, a full stomach and k-pop everywhere. I usually come here in the evening so its always dark, but the environment reminds my friends and I of the korean street bars. Definately a good place to come for drinks anytime of the year and including your birthday.

Worst service ever. Don’t even bother getting food from them. If you want to feel like you’re begging for mediocre food, then this place is for you. Otherwise be prepared for their kitchen to close beyond half an hour prior to their closing time. Good luck.

A place in Boston where soju is in the mix. Korean hotspot for college students so prepare yourself if you’re not one. Where you can get a Watermelon punchbowl, pineapple punchbowl, Swedish fish fishbowls, gummyworm fishbowls, flavored soju. Well you get the point. Fun place to drink with your friends and this is probably where you’ll end your night. Soju infused everything. For 7 people, we ended up getting strawberry yogurt soju, mango soju, and the jeju bowl which is the fishbowl with Swedish fish inside. They somehow ran out of shot glasses and we had to use soft serve ice cream cups? Lol they didn’t even let us know so we had to ask if it was normal. It wasn’t. Poor service. Loud. Unaccommodating servers. Makes sense for a late night korean bar. They also serve food but we didn’t experience any. The strawberry yogurt soju. Not the best. Tasty but must be mixed. You can see floating pieces so its not too appealing. The mango soju. Recommend. Best one out there. Tasty and easy to drink. Watch out for ice though. Both sojus are served in big Mason jars without a lid so taking a shot with ice can be dangerous. The Jeju fishbowl.($ 28 large) Sucks. Tasted like and and looks like AMF. Except Swedish fish at the bottom. Beware they taste gross. Just imagine them sitting in water for a long period of time. Soggy and mushy. We didn’t finish it Overall this constituted a fun night but don’t expect perfect service just expect to drink fruit drinks and beware of your spending.

This is probably the closest to dining in South Korea as it gets. They have the round metal tables as well as booths and plenty of Soju and beer :) Highly recommend the dokbukki with ramen noodles… amazing! Also, the pork bulgogi and scallion pancake. Definitely get some soju to share, maybe even the watermelon, and you don’t have to go anywhere else for the evening!

The staff was out of this world. in lack of hospitality! They had the guts to seat us at the 6 person table when we have 9 in our party. I told the dude that not everyone is skinny; but he insisted that we sit there. Then another person in our party complaint and be basically said the same thing and looked disgruntled that we didn’t like where we were seated. Eventually, he got understood that we ain’t gonna sit there and moved us to a larger table that is not really for 9 either but at least it wasn’t a booth so we can maneuver around. That dude kept up giving us an attitude throughout the night and rushing us to order. Pissed ass look when take our order and putting things on our table. The only reason I’m giving this 2 stars instead of 1 is because the watermelon soju was yummy. They changed from pitchers to mason jars for flavored soju. It seems smaller now. The ramen soup was overly salty according my company. The pancake was pretty good. It would have been better if they actually sliced it thru so it was easier to pick up the slices.

3.5! This unfinished draft has been lingering around for waaayyy too long so I’m just gonna keep it short and simple: If you are looking for: — a loud, festive, rowdy atmosphere on a weekend night — speakers that are blasting K-pop songs(which, don’t lie, you recognize practically all of them… what? me? nooo…) — large flat screen TVs showing off the latest K-pop music videos(which include groups of singing, dancing boys with skin smoother than yours) — all kinds of soju with a side of Korean food that’s good and gets the job done …then you’ve come to the right place! Congratulations!

Three stars max. We love the seafood pancake! Otherwise food were on the salty side: small portion; not sure if it’s worth the price. We had the japchae(of really small portion), ramen stew for two(just bleh), chicken stomach(def try if you are not gross out), octopus stirfry(we like it, salty without beer or rice), yumyang chicken which I personally don’t like and pig feet(it doesn’t look pleasant but if you haven’t tried in your lifetime you should try at least once. In myung dong, Beer is your best friend.

I will start by saying that I have always LOVEDMD. I loved the atmosphere and the food. even the fact that 90% of the MD population is comprised of college kids didn’t stop me from coming here, but my experience at MD2 weekends ago was enough for me to never come here again. If I were to write about the entire experience, this would be a novel. To cut to the chase, this is why I am never going back there… bad service: new server is BEYONDSASSY… cleanliness: we were served edamame on plates that had just been used by people who ate something spicy. there were red chili flakes all over it. gross. it’s dark in MD, but not THAT dark. ridiculous rules: SASSY server told us we had to order some sort of food item to stay. we couldn’t just drink our alc. first of all, you’re new. the manager guy who’s ALWAYS there didn’t say anything so leave me alone. second, there are no signs posted anywhere NOR is it written anywhere on the menu. I have never encountered this problem at MD before. We came here after dinner… what the hell am I supposed to eat/pay for after devouring a massive order of Bonchon wings before coming here… This review isn’t going to stop anyone from going because MD night is always a fun night, but if you go and see that freaking sassy server… tell him he’s on Unilocal and that I hope to never see him again.

This was my first Korean food experience in all of New England area and I have to say it was pretty fantastic! Good food, good alcohol, and good company makes for a great experience. As far as the food goes, I will say it was a little expensive but for the quality and since it was an occasional indulgence, it was totally worth it. The dol-sop bibimbap(Korean mixed rice on a cast iron bowl) was spot on. The Don Kat Su(korean version of Japanese Katsu) was also very good. Overall, all of the other dishes I tasted by stealing from my friends were pretty good. No single dish comes to mind where I thought it was subpar or flavorless. However, the –1 star comes from their lack of transparency and weak drinks when it comes to alcohol. We ordered 2 pitchers of beer yet each pitcher was only about ¾ the way full. When we asked why, they told us there are two«bottles» of the beer in each pitcher. Why not just give us the bottles and let us poor rather than pouring them into the pitcher and making it seem like people are ordering pitchers rather than bottles? Additionally, the soju shots were quite weak… in fact, I don’t really think i tasted any alcohol. Talk about stingy. All in all, a good experience except the alcohol incident. I would eat here again… but probably would not order anything alcohol related.

I love this place. The servers are always really nice and the drinks are great. I come here whenever Im craving Korean food with flavored soju. Their cocktails are the BESSSTTTT. So delicious! Plus, despite how loud it gets, I love how they play Kpop music videos on the tvs. I always see people spending their birthday dinners here with groups of friends as well. The store plays happy birthday music for them and carries out a tray of just free alcoholic cocktail drinks with a candle in the middle! Yeeesssss. This place is definitely more for groups of friends than for two people on a date. Plus at times the music can be so loud it’s hard to hear anyone else speak. I wouldn’t come here on a date for sure. Anyway, I’ve tried their food as well and I think it’s decent. Nothing amazing but it’s good bar food. The labokki(rice cakes with ramen) tends to be a little too sweet so I would probably avoid ordering that unless you were really drunk and could care less, but go for the spicy galbi tang if you’re looking for a spicy light beef broth. That’s pretty good. And if you’re looking for a flavored soju that you completely can’t taste the soju in, try the Mango soju. The consistency is so thick and sweet it tastes like you’re just downing sugar syrup. It’s a great way to get trashed if you dislike the taste of alcohol! Keep in mind Myung Dong gets SUPER busy on Fridays and weekends. The wait can be 30 minutes to an hour or more. So you might want to go elsewhere then.

I came here last night for some drinks and I am never disappointed. I know if I go to MD, I will always have a good time! Yogurt soju, delicious. Ordering soju and a pitcher of singha calls for endless games with your friends. Watermelon soju, HUGE! All their drinks are what you would expect at a basic korean bar and they’re all good! The food here is what I love. I would be that girl to come in at 6pm when it’s empty just so I can grab a meal before drinking. The chicken gizzards are my favorite bar food when I’m drinking. I’ve had them in NY also, but I think this place does it better! The soup selections are great and basically, anything on their menu, you won’t be disappointed! The only thing is the service is kind of bad at night because they get super busy and only have a few waiters to do their jobs. Also, by the end of the night, the money def racks up. It’s never a cheap night at MD for me at least.

Myung Dong is your typical Korean bar located in an area where there seems to be a lot of college kids. Later on, my cousin informed me that this area was near BU and BC. Figures. On our way from New York, decided to stop by here since it was opened late. Parking seemed to be challenging but we got lucky and scored a spot right in the front. No wait since it was a Thursday night and there was flash floods warning all night. With the K-pop music video blasting, we ordered the fried dumplings, scallion pancakes and mandoo ramen noodles. Typical Korean bar food which wasn’t anything memorable. A cool place to get together with some friends and throw back some flavored soju.

I have been here many times since its blocks away from my apartment. The place gets packed on Fridays and weekends, expected a 30−45min wait if you come 9−11pm. There are multiple TVs in this bar playing popular kpop music videos that can be quite mesmerizing. Myung offers great selection of soju in many different flavors. My favorite is the watermelon soju that comes in a half watermelon and holds at least ½ galloon of liquids for $ 35. This is seasonal though and becomes $ 25 ½ winter-melon during the winter. The food here also tastes great given its a bar where most groups come to get drunk with friends. Let the waitress know if anyone in your party is having his/her birthday and they will bring out 5(very weak) shots of soju while everyone in the restaurant claps :) One thing to be aware of is since the drinks are very sweet and tasty, people tend not to realize how much alcohol they are ingesting until it becomes too much, drink responsibly.
