I wanted to like this place. We were looking for a regular indian food spot that serves on Sundays. After eating at Spice India we decided not to eat Indian food on Sundays anymore. We found bones in the chicken, the rice was bland. I usually love Palak Paneer and it really had no taste. The food is spicy like the name implies, but it needs more flavor and skip the bones!

I recently moved to Pennsylvania from the Bay Area California. I was worried that I would not find any authentic Indian cuisine. My husband and I stumbled upon Spice India and have been regulars ever since. The food is fantastic and the prices are reasonable. The staff is very attentive and engaging and always brings us various extras for no charge. They have allowed us to order things that were not specifically on the menu that was more to our taste. Only reason I would not give five stars is because at times some of the dishes can be a bit oily. This has only happened to us twice. Overall it is a fantastic place and we are happy we found it. The main manager, Eric, is very personable and friendly.

Went there on 6⁄6 for a change in food wasn’t sure on how good is was going to be? The service was ok it wasn’t great, had to wait about 15 min to order. The waiter was not happy at all he was in a hurry he took our order never asked if we want a drink. They gave us water when we first got there. The food was good not the best. I would of rather gone down to the one in Nazareth. So this place is ok don’t run in to the place. Go to the one in Nazareth it’s better !!!

First of all, it doesn’t matter if I can spell in proper grammar or not. I came to the restaurant to have dinner, so this review is to rate the food and the service for your kind information. Instead of you apologizing for the bad service/experience that you provided, but instead you are here trying to correct and point out my bad grammar/English. So here begins the list of complains: First, GODTHISPLACEISTERRIBLE!!! If there was an option to give NO stars, then I would give this place a 100% ZERO! Gosh I don’t even know where to start. Even worse the food was barely edible. This place really bums me out because I am a HUGE fan of the Indian food. The quality of service and food is just inconsistent and very poor quality. I would absolutely NOT recommend this place if you are looking for an authentic curry experience. It was so bad! No flavor whatsoever! Indian food is known for having so many flavors and spices yet everything I ordered was a shame! THISPLACESUCKEDANDVERYDISAPPOINTEDWITHTHEEXPERIENCE I HAD. If you are hungry and looking for good authentic Indian food, please find another place or just starve yourself rather than stepping into this place because you will regret it. Please don’t waste your time, money, or appetite at this gross hole in the wall place. The staff has no respect for customers at all, as you can see I am being judged on how well I can speak English. Disagreements in business happens all the time. We can’t expect everyone to always be on the same page. But there is a professional way to deal with disagreements. This guy is just rude and contemptuous, acting like he can’t be bothered by customers. These guys should find another line of business if they don’t care to accommodate customers.

Despite the fluctuating extremes on here for this restaurant, I will say that we had a decent experience. My wife and i cam with two of our 4 kids. The older of the two is already a fan of Indian food. The youngest was able to be converted with the meal here. While we played it safe with the youngest in getting him Chicken Tikka Masala, he enjoyed trying everyone else’s food. I really liked the Chicken Vindaloo. We ordered from the a la carte selections, which may have been a better option than if this that have experienced the buffet. Sometimes in places the buffet is not as good as the regular prepared menu food. The service was extremely attentive. The maitre d’ was personable and checked in with us frequently, while not being annoying. It is evident that they are trying to up their game after some of the recent reviews on here. For that, I commend them.

My boyfriend and I had dinner here tonight and we both left feeling very full and even more satisfied. We ordered samosas, Palak Paneer, Chicken Tikka Masala, Tandoori Mix Grill, naan and cheese naan. I would highly recommend all 6 menu items! All delicious and flavorful. The service was attentive and very friendly! We will definitely be back soon.

Great Indian food and even better service. My sister and I came for lunch, a la carte, but have had the excellent lunch buffet before as well. Today she had the chicken vindaloo; I had the tikka masala. Both were tasty and priced well for the portion size. The owner is extremely attentive and was kind enough to give us both dessert on the house.

Third time at Spice India. First and possibly last time at this one. Service was slow they seemed understaffed and confused. The chicken dish I ordered wasn’t bad(sorry don’t remember what the name was but it had curry, mustard and coconut milk). However, my friend had to ask twice for a certain sauce she liked before getting it, the appetizer tasted like it was prepackaged frozen and the afghani naan was supposed to have nuts and raisins instead had some kind of red sweet paste and they insisted it was correct that that’s «the way they make it now». I was slightly annoyed at that explanation but they did take it off the bill. Not sure if I’ll go here again I may stick with the

I now live halfway between two Indian restaurants named Spice, which I assume are connected in some way. The other one is fine and this one is clean and well lighted. The papadum came broken up instead of whole and the green and Tamarind sauces weren’t so good, too sweet. Now, to be honest, I don’t expect much, since I’m addicted to Indian food when in England, which is better than any place I’ve been to in the US. Then there is iSpice in Brunswick NJ, which is ¾ way to those in England. Then, there is my excursions elsewhere. Spice is ok, which is about ½, but still the best around. This place is significantly better than Spice, but is conventional American Indian food, without the inventiveness of iSpice. We had a Biriyani night, with Lamb, Okra, and veg dishes. It was good. Not overly salty as expected. It would be nice to have had some mango or lime spiced sauces available to heat things up a bit. I only hope they get better rather than going downhill.

Amazing flavorful and delicious. Chicken curry was just the right level of spice the rice was perfect and the nan was hot and just out of the tandoor oven. Mango lassie was very good also. Give them a try if you are worried about the spiciness they can change it to your taste …

Took the family for dinner this evening, and had a horrible experience. Wait staff is not friendly, and the food was not good at all. We ordered Saag, Paneer Makhani, and Daal Makhani. It was the first time that my son did not eat at a Indian restaurant and we are Indian! It was also the first i saw my wife gag when she tried the daal. We will never go again. Dont waste your time or money here, take the time to visit Edison NJ for some good Indian food such as Bombay Talk, or Urban Spice.

Everything was awesome except for the lamb curry which tasted a bit like tomato stew. The chicken tikka masala and goat korma were some of the best I’ve had. Service was ok but nothing to brag about.

I love Indian food! I was excited to try out this new restaurant. Very disappointing. Styrofoam cups, bad tasting water, poor waitress service. Plus the meal was expensive; over $ 30 for two meals plus an appetizer and one dessert. Both meals were salty. My wife ordered chai tea and received spearmint tea with milk. The topper was the waitress had her own dinner while we ate; she sat at one of the window tables and ate a takeout meal from a different restaurant! ~~ later the same night ~~ We are both nauseous and would feel better if we threw up. Save your money and your guts. Go somewhere else.

Super nice to have Indian on this side of town vs having to travel to S. Bethlehem! Lunch buffet was very nice, with high quality products and a good mix of vegetarian(dal, palak paneer) and meat dishes(chicken biryani, lamb vindaloo, tandoori chicken) and even dessert. Dishes were very nicely spiced, not too mild as sometimes happens with a buffet. Complimentary naan provided hot for each table as well as complimentary water tureens. I do hope they splurge on real signs or even small erasable whiteboards for the buffet labels, as the magic-marker-on-dinner-plates was a little cheap looking. We plan to come for dinner with a bottle of wine, hope they maybe dim the lights a bit at night. Perfectly bright for lunch, but a little too much so for dinner with the sterility of the furnishings(diamondplate on walls from prior tenant) although they have tried hard to soften it with paint and artwork. The staff was super friendly and accommodating in addition to the very good food, which is reason alone to return.

I came here on New Year’s Day for dinner with family. Ordered naan, dhal makhni, lamb korma, butter paneer. Food was okay. For appetizers, some chicken soup, tandoori/tika chicken, and chili chicken. The chili chicken was pretty good. I’m Indian… I’ve had my fair share of Indian food in the past. Genuinely, I thought this place was okay at best. Nothing too special. I normally give every place 5 stars off the bat and take off stars if needed. I took 1 star off for Spice India for having subpar food. I took another star off for awful service. The Plates were dirty… and we had to ask for plates(in the first place which is kinda odd), also had to ask for serving spoons with the dishes. This is basic restaurant etiquette… and inexcusable. Feel free to read other reviews I’ve written. As always — and particularly for this review of spice india… I’m being generous– with 3 stars. l
