Cozy establishment, clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. I was in town for work and decided on this place based on the reviews. Went with the big gyro and grape leaves, both were delicious and authentic tasting. I was asked about my spice level preference, which helped them make the gyro in a way that would be suitable for my spice tolerance. I love spicy and the gyro was one of the most unique and tasty gyros I’ve ever had. My overall experience here would lead me to eat here again if my work or travels took me to this area again.

Food is excellent and the staff are very nice. The orders sometimes take a little longer than expected so if you are going for your lunch hour, you may want to call your order ahead.

So happy to find this colorful, clean place. As a vegetarian, it can sometimes be difficult to find great food in unfamiliar neighborhoods. Unilocal was spot on with member ratings of 4.5 stars. I had to circle the block to find a parking space. And I opened the side door –Oops! Sorry that was the kitchen! The menu clearly shows what’s vegan and vegetarian. Nice touch. My hummus falafel ‘panini’ was more like a wrap, cooked to perfection with fresh ingredients such as spring mix greens, diced olives, garlic, falafel and hummus. The guy who took my order asked me if I liked garlic. I said I did. When my plate arrived, he told me he included a little garlic hummus. Mmmmmm so good! The owner played some blues for another customer who happened to stay after asking if there was a soul food restaurant near by. Indeed, sir, I enjoyed the music. Great experience.

I just finished the«We Dare You!» Ghost pepper sandwich, awesome! Heat and flavor combined to perfection! I have yet to have a meal here at Hummus House that was less than spectacular!

The owner heard me say what’s vegan and came out to make recommendations… All of which were delicious. We will definitely go back! Rice was right, portions great, quality great! It’s a small deli type place with only 4 or 5 tables but soooooo good.

Hummus house is quite simply a delight! We stopepd by on a cold November evening, not knowing what to expect. We were greeted instantly and guided through their menu and new additions promptly. The interior was like a café I would expect in New york. A cozy, modern vibe. While we browsed through their extensive and delightful choices of wraps, sandwiches and pizzas, I admored their décor. Beautiful black and white photographs decorated their walls(turns out their owner was a photographer and took most of those photographs himself). Classic reel cameras stood on the shelves behind the counters and being a photographer myself, I was in heaven. I was mistaken, the perception of heaven was to come a little later. After I bit into my beefy piggy sandwich. Ladies and Gentlemen, this IS your new place to drop by in Allentown. Drop by for a cup of coffee and a bite to eat. Pamper yourself with the most unique sandwiches, pizzas and wraps you can find anywhere. Try their old damascus hummus pizza. Fresh, toasted pita bread with a slathering of their home-made hummus and topped with sejok(seasoned ground beef) and banana peppers. Their beefy piggy sandwich was almost orgasmic. A sandwich with their sejok, ham, bacon, pickles, cheddar cheese and crushed herbs. A bit of hot sauce for some kick and the final result will blow your mind. There is a plethora of options, salads, wraps, gyros, salads and yes, plenty of options even for vegans. I promise you this place will make everyone happy. They even have outside seating for warmer weather. This place deserves a detour. If you are passing by and need a quick snack or a huge meal, just drop by anyway. If you are in the Allentown fairgrounds for any event and wondering where to eat, this is it! Or if you are lucky like me to live within 10minutes of this place. Drop by occassionally. I know you will never be disappointed.

This review is LONG overdue. I started eating at the Hummus House over a year ago and stop in every chance I get. When I initially stopped in to the Hummus House, I was under a gluten-free diet restriction and the owner, who is an immensely friendly and likable gentleman who always makes himself available to customers, greeting them like friends, and his son, who is likewise very friendly and outgoing, took great care to ensure that the dishes they prepared for me were not only gluten free, but also took great care to eliminate any chance of gluten-contamination in the preparation area. The GF meals that they offered were absolutely delicious — nothing tasted GF, which, if you’ve ever been GF, you understand exactly what I mean. Now that I’ve been freed from the GF restriction, I am free to enjoy everything the Hummus House has to offer… and, oh my… *nom*. Yesterday, my partner and I stopped in and enjoyed the Brooklyn Style Cheese Steak, which is an incredible work of culinary art. Even before biting into this incredible and HUMONGOUS sandwich, the savory herbs, spices, meats, cheese, and heavenly roll tease your olfactory senses, literally making you salivate just from the scent of the sandwich! For me, this sandwich alone was easily two meals and just writing this makes me want to go warm up my other half and devour it! My other HH favorite is the BLTC … now, I’m a fan of the normal BLT, but this… this takes it to a WHOLE new level. Just incredible! I eat low carb 99% of the time, but HH never fails to tempt me to the point of just giving up LC eating for that day. The hummus is delicious — absolutely sumptuous… red pepper, garlic, and a wide variety of other in-house prepared hummus flavors are fantastic. The owner, as I previously mentioned, has always been there every time I’ve stopped in and is always very friendly, kind, and outgoing, as is his son. I’ve found the rest of the staff to be equally as friendly and helpful every single time I’ve visited. You place your order at the counter, get your drinks, and sit at one of the beautiful wooden tables, and someone brings you your food, hot and smelling simply divine! In summary, between the delicious, nutritious, filling culinary delights, the simplistic beauty of the restaurant itself, and the delightful, friendly, outgoing staff, you’d be a fool not to visit. No, seriously, you’d be a fool not to get yourself to the Hummus House as soon as you can.

We ordered a falafel sandwich. It was a little bit dry. Not bad for a pit stop on a road trip, but if we lived in the area, we would probably not frequent this place.

This place is amazing. It has a laid back atmosphere and the staff are friendly and helpful. The menu had a ton of delicious sounding options and I wanted to try everything. After agonizing over what to order I settled on the vegan hummus pizza, baba ghanoush, grape leaves, artichoke salad, and my meat eating boyfriend had the meat pie. The vegan hummus pizza was so delicious. I thought I might feel like it was missing something without the cheese but we both agreed it was flavorful and pretty much perfect without cheese. Something about all the toppings worked really well together and it was just perfect. This is probably on my list of my favorite things I’ve ever tasted. Grape leaves were delicious as well, stuffed with more than just rice and not too oily. Definitely a fan. The baba on the other hand was too oily in my opinion and not my favorite, the texture and flavor were lacking. Artichoke salad was good, not mind blowing but I enjoyed it. I definitely will be returning next chance I get to try some of their other creative and tasty sounding options!

First time eating from here. Had our order delivered. Upon delivery driver greeted us stating our residence was 2 miles not 1 mile from restaurant. Food was not hot. Did not receive the extra sauce requested. They don’t offer lamb for Gyro, so we ordered the beef and it was non impressive in taste. The portions were large and very flavourful(despite the Gyro) definitely enough to share or have for leftovers. The Tabbouleh was not to our particular liking but doesn’t mean others would not enjoy. I’ve been made aware they will not deliver, therefore, I may or may not patron the establishment.

This place is the most delicious of all that is tasty and delicious. They had seven kinds of hummus — a vegetarian pizza the size of Pennsylvania & an array of veggie pies that would make Julia Child leap from her grave in delight! Perhaps not the most appetizing allusion — but she did call & thank us for the recommendation. The staff was thoughtful, kind, the place clean and funky fun. They also have lots of options for meat eaters. The salads — which we didn’t order but coveted from other tables — were also huuuuuuuge!!!

We decided to stop on our way home from a game at Muhlenberg College. We are so glad we did! Lots of vegan options. We were going to choose from the menu but then opted for the burritos, roasted brussel sprouts and roasted cauliflower with cilantro hummus. Both were great and very unusual! I have to say the roasted brussel sprouts was awesome especially with the balsamic reduction. The wrap was almost crispy-nice touch and the rest of the veggies were just wonderful! We sat outside for a nice afternoon meal. Not fancy, but very nice!

Best hummus ever. They have four varieties of hummus. And three of them are garlic-free! I had the cilantro hummus. And it was the best hummus I have ever had in a restaurant. They bake their falafels, rather than frying them. Good stuff! The dessert was homemade, and yummy too. The family, which owns it, are honest and cordial. I recommend this place. I will go there again, when I am in eastern PA.

5 *‘s for the food. 4*‘s for the location :( As can be expected with most deli’s seating wasn’t very accommodating it seemed like they had more tables than chairs but an older person offered us a chair and got themselves a folding one that was tucked off to the side. Is the neighborhood safe? I grew up in Allentown, I don’t hang there anymore but it’s not center city. it’s on the west side of town and I don’t feel that that area is unsafe. By location issues I am referring to street parking, granted you don’t have to worry about meters but it’s pretty hard to find parking in residential areas especially during bad weather. Otherwise, this joint is clean and the owners are very personable. And the food is top notch amazing ! My wife and I decided to use a coupon but we had to dine in to use it, this joint is better for take out. Although I heard them say they are now going to be closed on Mondays too, I hope that isn’t a bad sign :( My wife was less adventurous and got The TBA Sandwich Turkey, crispy bacon, avocado, lettuce, sharp cheddar cheese, tomato, hummus house sub sauce, and thousand island dressing. 9.97÷11.97 Although she got her’s without thousand Island dressing. She got the 10 inch and ate half, I ate the other half today and we both feel it was amazing. I had the Sejok Panini This recipe has been in my family for as long as I remember. We use top quality ground beef seasoned with a special family recipe and stuffed into a 6″/10″ loaf of Italian bread. Topped with middle eastern pickled peppers and cheese. Pressed on the panini grill until it’s nice and crispy. 7.97÷10.97 This was delicious, the owner asked if I wanted it spicy and I said yeah, but it wasn’t too spicy just the right balance of heat. It was perfect. Definitely want to give them another go with more traditional middle eastern fare and we have to try the Hummus. Thanks Gentlemen.

This is a tiny restaurant located on a side street in Allentown. It is very small(only like 5 – 6 tables I think) but cozy. Parking was hard as it’s in a residential neighborhood and there is snow everywhere right now so I was glad to bring a 4 wheel drive to squeeze into a spot in a snow pile. Hummus was good but they were out of the flavor I wanted to try(original) so I ended up with falafel hummus which is basically original with falafel crumbs sprinkled on top. We each tried a Falafel sandwich. I got the regular one and my daughter got the Falafel panini(Not sure of what the difference was except I think hers had hummus in it, both were on a grilled pita). I always think Falafel is too dry yet I keep trying to order it again and again at place after place so I am not sure why I was surprised. I did ask for a side of Tzatziki to dip my wrap in(I guess that is weird but it vastly improved the sandwich). Anyway, I wanted to love this place but I just didn’t. It was kind of pricey too at $ 38 for 2 falafels, one order of hummus, one water and one lemonade. I will probably go back and try something besides the falafel. If so I will update my review.

I was in town for a short stop before getting back on the road to DC and was pretty amazed by the variety of offerings in this seemingly simple and small establishment. I had the hummus sandwich, which from the moment I bit into it felt fresh, flavorful and much more expensive than the price posted on the menu. Attention Lehigh Valley area folks: you have a culinary gem in your midst. Support the heck out of this place and help it grow. Not only is the service prompt and accurate, but the food delightful and above anything offered at the corporate versions of competing eateries in the area.

I don’t usually leave reviews, but after having my first lunch here and meeting the owners, I took some time to write this, food is amazing, kitchen looks super clean. The owners are very friendly and their deserts are delicious!!! Love this place and I will definitely come back for breakfast and lunch.
