Absolutely loved my first experience there! I am not one to write reviews often, but this made my anniversary very special and my girlfriend loved it! We had couples massage, which really just meant we were in the same room together. It was comforting knowing that we were going through the experience together. Both Diane and Amanda were great and I felt absolutely amazing afterwards. When you are done, they offer for you to sign up for a monthly membership of $ 59.99 a month, which is a great deal and I would DEFINITELY take it if I wasn’t leaving this summer. I am hoping I can come back soon and and maybe work something out so that I can still get that membership. My girlfriend and I are looking to go back in a month before I leave for the summer and I hope my 2^nd experience is just as great. I felt welcomed and relaxed from the moment we stepped in and I am thankful for this experience overall! Thank you Hand & Stone!

Not a great experience. Showed up 5 minutes early for my massage. They told me I had to fill out paperwork that would «cut into my time». Then they up sold me on an enhanced foot massage and when I went in they said they actually couldn’t do that since I am pregnant. When I was in room the woman seemed unaware it was a prenatal massage. She went to get pillows and then said she better let me change because again I was told «I was cutting into my time». As a pregnant woman with a toddler at home I was hoping for a relaxing experience, which this was not. They need to have a few minute buffer between appointments because telling the customer that they are running out of time is rude.

My daughters and I tried the introductory massage and facials. I joined. The staff at this location is incredible. Whoever does the hiring does a wonderful job! Courtney was so sweet every time we came for a service. I have to say that the staff here is so personable and accommodating, such a rare find for many stores. I was encouraged to join by how nice the staff was and how not pushy they were. Tonight, after work, I tried Mel for a massage. She was awesome! I have tried massages with Tammi and she too is very good. I have tried facials too, also very good. I highly recommend this place. It is reasonable, clean, and relaxing!

I was in desperate need of a massage and decided to check out this chain. I’ve been to several spas in the Rockland/​Bergen area, and have not found one that I want to use regularly. I decided to try the Allendale location since it’s about 20 minutes from my house, and I was happy that they allowed me to combine the introductory offers for hot stone massage and basic facial. The lobby area is very nicely decorated, clean, and the front desk staff is very friendly and accommodating. When I was not called in on time for my massage, the assistant manager apologized and told me that the client before me was taking a bit longer to get dressed and they would make up the time, which they did. Overall, I enjoyed my experience for my hot stone massage and my facial, but neither was extraordinary. I definitely feel like they nickel and dime you a bit as well, because most spas that I’ve been to don’t charge extra for scented massage oil. Hand and Stone does. I would definitely pay the extra $ 10 next time because I feel the aromatherapy adds a lot to the massage experience. I actually decided to purchase a membership because for $ 60 a month for either a massage or a facial, the price can’t be beat. Plus, they also gave me a gift card for a free massage or facial, and the contract can be canceled at any time, plus services carry over if you don’t use them. My back feels great right now and all the tension is gone, and I was super relaxed after my massage, but I definitely felt that I was not at a more prestigious spa. Overall, I did enjoy myself today and look forward to going back for a massage next month. It’s not a high-​end spa experience, but it’s definitely good for stress relief without shelling out high end spa prices. I like the flexibility of the evening and weekend appointments. For what it is, it’s a good value.

Great place to get a massage and they have really nice introductory offer if it is your first visit. I had a massage with Logan, he did a great job, very professional and I walked out feeling 100 times better. The business is very clean and staff was very attentive.

I recently started a monthly membership with this location and have good experiences each time. The front desk staff are always pleasant, the reception area is clean and comfortable. I have worked with several different therapists and have always been pleased with my massages. No one is pushy with regard to upgrades or products but they do inform you of what’s available. I will be maintaining my membership for sure.

I had a great experience at the Allendale location. I called at 7pm on the off-​chance that they had a same-​day opening, and they did! The receptionist was patient, sweet, and polite. The lobby was clean and quiet. My massage therapist, Erin, was wonderful. She was friendly, made me feel comfortable, and gave me a fantastic massage – one of the best I’ve ever received. I will absolutely be back.

It’s a new massage spa that opened on the 28^th of November, and my wife booked an appointment as an early Christmas gift to me. Being new, I was semi-​greeted at the door by the branch manager since the regular receptionist was off for the day. (She looked overwhelmed, and informed me that the regular front desk receptionist was not in for the day) My wife had specifically booked for a deep tissue massage, however the only person on staff, besides the branch manager, was frank and said she could only provide a light massage, but would do her best since she does not have the build for a deep tissue massage. I felt disappointed at first since I had specific muscular issues to work out, however I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of customer service that I received. They could have simply told me that they would do a deep tissue massage and give me just a terrible experience, however they took the high road and concentrated on what the massage therapist could do for me. They even threw in a free 10 minute foot exfoliation massage that normally comes as a coupon, which I did not bring at the time, but chose to honor since I mentioned it. I had later been given a full tour of the facility upon mentioning that I was a Unilocal Elite member. I saw everything from the dual couple’s room, to the bathrooms, to the back laundry facility. I was also informed about the company history and ethos. It was then I was informed that they were still building their staff and still putting the finishing touches on the physical aspect of this branch. I look forward to seeing this business establish itself in the local community, and hope to have the opportunity to revisit when they are fully operational. For taking the higher road and making my experience a pleasant one, I give this a 3-​star, «A-​OK,» rating.
