The Kid Salon

This is a horrible place. Please I had a terrible experience. A girl started complaining about my child’s hair. She took 2 – 3 minutes and was done. She charged us $ 18 for or three snips. This place is overpriced. DO NOT GO HERE!

Nice place with lots of kids stuff. Friendly staff and haircut for my 3yr old went well. This place has Xbox at the waiting area and also at every seat. They allow your kid to pick a dvd to see while the hair cut is done. No waiting time and is open till 7PM. Place looks crowded with lots of toys

My son’s haircut was far too long, so my husband asked her to cut it more on top. It is not what we asked for and she refused to cut it more. We will never go back

The salon did do everything to make me happy. The opened early for me to bring my son back. Amy was very nice and really did her best to fix his hair. Yes I was not happy at all but after they fixed it I was less upset about it. Hair grows back and maybe we will try it again. If we do I will call and ask for Amy.

I have taken my son to several different locations and this is by far the worst experience. No socializing with kids there, it is just cut and get out of the chair. Terrible! Enough said!

This «salon» is a rip off. It costs over $ 50 to get a simple kid hair cut, blow dry and fingernail polish. This is twice as much as their competitors. Waiting area is tiny and they try to entice kids business with lots of stuffed animals for sale. In addition, the wait times are ridiculous. My advice… save your money and your time!

Not a fan of this place. The cuts aren’t really that great and they are not very nice to my kids. They can be rude and abrupt with the kids and after a few encounters, I felt it wasn’t worth it. There’s not much waiting space in here either. So we won’t be going back there. We have since found a great place! A little further away but worth the drive! Kids B Kids is awesome!

I keep giving this place a chance for some reason specially since cool cuts for kids closed in Allen. I didn’t mind because they had a very nice and experienced hispanic new girl but I learned today that she left. Needless to say, after 45 minute wait I had to leave today with out being able to get a haircut for my 2 year old. The stylist are not experienced or toddler friendly whatsoever. Now that the only stylist I liked for being professional, patient and nice its gone, this time I’m never ever coming back! Expensive, not friendly and always busy! And stylists keep quitting! The only one I still see its Vanessa and she is nothing of who she was when I met her a long time ago. She acts like she runs the place! Very fake and very rude!

Love coming here and my twins love getting their locks trimmed here too.

We have been here twice and have yet to meet a friendly stylist. The stylists he had were impatient and borderline rude. This last time was the worst. When he started to cry, she goes «seriously?!» My son is 18 months old. A stranger touching him and spraying him with cold water, freaks him out. Pretty normal I would say. She was not interested in soothing him at all.
His haircut usually takes 10 minutes and they charge $ 17. My son was pretty still this time and the back of his head was cut all wonky– same as last time. I will be looking for someone specific to go to or try somewhere else altogether.

We love everyone here they are awesome! Dixie has cut my kids hair for years and is wonderful she is patient and kind my kids love her! Keep up the good work girls oh and the sweet girls at the front desk always smiling and friendly!

As I read the reviews it’s apparent that experience is based on the stylist you get. For us it was a horrible experience fans the stylist was rude, abrasive, and impatient. If you are going to work in a salon for kids you are going to need some patience.
We have been in other kids salons where the stylists work with the children. In our case it was repositioning by pulling our sons hair. When we asked to take more off the side the stylist complained that we better hold our sons head or she may cut him or herself.
Really disappointed and we will not be back.

Great place and very kid friendly. Vanessa is our fav. It’s a little pricey but we don’t have to come very often. Always a great cut for my boys.

After coming here (and their old location) for 6 years… We finally had a really bad experience. The lady that cut my sons hair last week… Was horrible.(sorry I don’t remember her name. She was a little big boned. blonde hair.little older. and a tat on her ankle.) Beginning when they called him up, she had a big grumpy look on her face… She stared in disbelief when my son wanted to get an Xbox game off the wall. (because she didnt move from her station… i got it for him) Instead of playing one of the two. That were already at her station. She was also extremely hard on him during the cut (he’s 9 yrs old)… Standing directly in front of him for 90 percent of the cut… my kid almost started to cry !!! I was pretty upset too. (Although I was quite about it). She also asked at the end of the cut if it looked ok. I asked her if she could cut it a little shorter (because it was almost in his eyes) she (literally) took two snips off his bangs and said «done». (No blending… combing or anything). It’s no surprise my son loves to come here bc usually the hairstylist are excited to see him… And he gets to play Xbox games… I think this recent visit has given me the opportunity to open up some other places too him. (like my hair cut place. Lol). I doubt we will be back, my son was extremely upset as we were walking to the car. But never say never…

Very happy with the experience. I have two kids with special needs and haircuts have not been easy in the past. Took them in today and they both got good cuts and the stylists were great with them.

I felt like the prices were a little outrageous. The lady cutting my daughter’s hair seemed uninterested and did not say a word besides when she asked what kind of haircut we were looking for. The haircut was not all that great either. I rather spend extra time driving to Sweet and Sassy.

Our kids love The Kid Salon! My teenager still has Amy cut her hair and won’t go anywhere else!

Great 1^st haircut experience for my daughter! I brought a baggie of my own to collect her hair, turns out they already had that covered and provided me a baggie + card where I can insert her photo :) They have a cute gift store located in the front of the salon (really cute stuff) and kept my daughter entertained throughout the whole visit.

Can’t beat this place! My kids love this place… No more struggling to get them to the hair salon. Games/​Movies/​Lolipops/​Great Prices!

Best place EVER to get a kid’s haircut. They do a great job — everytime! Love the fact you can make an appointment and it actually WORKS! I’ve never had to wait more than 5 minutes when I made one…
Seems like it would be easy, but it’s hard to find good kid’s haircuts… Kids are squirmy, sure… but I was so tired of getting uneven «chop jobs»…and then I found The Kid’s Salon… perfect! We love our stylist there and my son always looks awesome coming out…
